- Gray Zone Warfare Early Access reviewed on PC by Justin Koreis.
Gray Zone Warfare’s early access version has some excellent ideas for a highly realistic take on an extraction shooter, but most of them come with a caveat or two at this point. Yes, the map is huge, lush, and full of enemies to shoot at, but you will need to be prepared to wait far too long for rides to and from objectives. The damage system is realistic and immersive, but it shoots itself in the foot with unreliable hit registration, and playing wounded is a lot less fun. The detailed weapons are painstakingly true to life, with lots of great customization options, but if you don’t already subscribe to Soldier of Fortune magazine it’s going to be tough to make great use of it. The enthusiasm and ambition behind this game is palpable, even if it is currently rough, buggy, and too often unreliable. But like a greasy burger at a roadside dive, its charm isn’t in craftsmanship, it’s in the earnestness. While its flaws are a bit too numerous to list, much less completely overlook, it can hit the spot just right if you have the right sort of hunger.

You don’t have to extract after taking damage after your initial shootouts. You just patch up and keep on moving.

The servers were absolutely shhhht for the first few weeks but now the servers are better i'd give it a 7 out of 10 for a early access game.
80 hours in and still enjoy it even tho its only 30% done.
6 seems fair. It is pretty sparse right now and it has a lot of issues hence the alpha but you can see the potential
The shots that don't do damage are certain types of bullets. 7.62x39 (AK-47), Pistol, and Shotgun ammo. Shotguns were fixed with the patch today
If you bring each different type of medicine (5 or 6 types), you can heal all wounds. Tourniquet first to stop bleeding, then use Splint, Bandage, Surgery Kit, Blood Bag, and Painkillers as needed
This review was made sometime ago.. The headless glitch and inventory disappearing bug is patched but this isn't exactly updated frequently like said ... the last update/patch was 10 days ago.

been playing nonstop since the first day it dropped. It takes ideas from tarkov and arma 3 to make it a really fun experience. Performance is total nonsense rn, but give it a year and it will be amazing

Massive Potential, cool af vibes compared to any other game imo even Tarkov this has a cooler “vibe”. It needs better ai, more loot especially, and generally needs to run better on lower end rugs

... There's always someone out there obsessed with pointing out every little thing about firearms as though they should be common knowledge. They're saying it's requiring the player to do the work of sussing out what goes where instead of handling it for them, like the vast majority of games do.

@@DatAsianGuyyou’re completely missing the point, the point is, most fps games dont have more detailed magazine systems where you actually have to interact with each round loaded at all, so dealing with mechanics like that in a game can be annoying

I'd say more like DayZ. It's a big persistent map with 3 enemy factions. There's some elements from Tarkov for sure, but it's definitely not a direct comparison.
This game had a chance until tencent started their arena breakout infinite marketing campaign. Now it’s dead on arrival

The game is unplayable. Rubber banding is absolutely terrible. Unless there was an update in the last 15 hours it wasn't pleasant.
you should never review game types like this again... The fact you think you need to have a subscription to soldier of fortune magazine to be able to build any of the guns in the games is laughable at best. You have proven to be an unreliable review of this game type and I'll refrain from viewing your specific reviews of any games in the future.
