hi chinmay... i experimented with aata .. aata wil not dry fast and after it dries it becomes very hard..
so the answer is no u can not use aata
if you have patience then you can use rice flour .. it wil also dry slow but wont get that hard ..(chawal ka aata)

and after making oobleck did u spread it on a plastic ?
if it was very cold .. it ll take time to dry .. but if u had spread it shud be dry by now..
