Super cool!!! Hype that reefs is getting into the drift scene! Get yourself some Yokomo tires, the carpet ones grip pretty well on the surface you’re running, but the asphalts are really good on concrete and asphalt
The first time I took my RMX drift car to my local hobby shop I was quickly humbled. I realized in the first 30 seconds I was going to need some practice and had a lot to learn. I had to dial the electronics and car to learn how to drift. I was told about all of the types of tires and I was shocked that they actually perform so differently. My local track is VCT tile and they use specific tires only used on that track. I had a few local drift guys give me some pointers and with some practice I started having clean laps. I’m sure with every battery pack you run your driver mod increases so pretty soon we’ll see some clean drift lines!! 👊👊👍👍
I think we all went through this when we first started. I'm lucky enough to have found a couple of people who have helped me tune my car in addition to making recommendations for electronics. A year and a half in and I'm still learning. You're also driving one handed which is a feat in of itself.
Bro you are the only one using an Rx8c and drifting. We need to see more of that! I just got an MST 2.5 and I had to turn the gyro way down. And you definitely want to use the slow steering return AVCS mode. But honestly I think the redcat aint the greatest, I was watch rc reviews and he had to modify several things....the steering knuckles needed to be trimmed right away, cause they were binding.
Here's a question for ya. Before enabling the stand-alone gyro, did you remember to first disable/minimize the gyro built into the R8FG receiver? Thing is, the R8FG has a built in gyro, controllable from the RC8X...and, if you didn't disable that gyro, then you were, in essence, using two separate gyros simultaneously, possibly working 'together', but possibly working 'against' each other.
if you drift an rc car as a hobby you should probably set down the controller and get to high school because your late for class!!! dont forget your 1/24 so you can try and crawl your french fries at lunch time!!!

Their gyro appears to be a re branded /cased yeah racing hack slider mini
Most definitely. It's probably a recased AGFRC gyro since they rebrand their servos.

That's helps seen them before. Some types of rc not legal helps straight line drag cars
I was thinking about using 2 gyros in the upright position connected to shock mounted servos on a crawler to make a self leveling suspension system 💜

I can power slide a 2wd buggy on dirt but I can’t drift

It would work no worries. Same as a gt5 radio and gyro reciever would in whatever you put it in.
Drifting seems horribly frustrating to learn.
I would have set that car on a fence post and used it for a target by now.

Dug the drift video something new was cool
Setting a car up properly is only half the battle. The other half is learning the Scandi Flick combined with proper timing and throttle control. 🤓
