Fun fact: The Polish books were created and translated in collab with the great Missy Dakota. She played a paw in helping to translate the entire Warriors series and supervise the artwork too.
No way he forgot that Fireheart had to make a decision to save either Bramblekit or Yellowfang in the fire... It killed me every time he said "I'm not sure who that kit is.. but ok."
@theblueblazing this has nothing to do with this comment but in Belgium Illustrated Cover the cat holding the rat is mostly Barley because he had helped battle the rats. When bluestar, firepaw and I think tigerclaw😅 where coming back from the moonstone.
I'm pretty sure the cat on fire and ice poland cover is Graystripe! Look at the stripe on the top of his head :) and the next is Bluestar! I'm obsessed with the Poland covers
16:10 Fellow Brazilian here. Yeah, we have the same covers for German and Austria, but there's a detail about The Dangerous Path that is different. If I'm not mistaken, the brazilian cover is THE ONLY ONE that is missing the cat that is jumping, it has only the field, but not the cat. If I would translate the names we got tho, it would be: In The Forest; Fire and Ice; Forest of Secrets; Storm; Dangerous Path; The Darkest Hour.
if youre curious, the japanese transaltion for into the wild is "firepaw, return to the wilderness" so interesting how wilderness is used across a lot of translations!
As I understand, the gene for red coloration in cats is inextricably linked to the gene for tabby markings. Realistically, there's no way Firepaw/heart/star would not be a tabby. Some red cats have much more diffused tabby markings, like the Abyssinian, but even then, the markings will be visible on the face, legs, and tail.
@@PurpleMagicForest I mean I've had to translate a lot smaller stuff than whole books and gotta be honest translation from English to Estonian is a nightmare, idk why anyone would wanna do it for a book like warriors.
The earlier cover of "Forest of the secrets" was not published because when it was shown, Polish fans disliked it very much (mainly due to very visible artificiality and anatomical errors). Ultimately, Nowa Baśń (the publishing house that publishes Warriors in Polish) decided to change it
I'm not sure if you've been written about this before, but that Russian "strange book" is just a collector's/gift reprint of ordinary books (it's called the "Golden Collection"). Some special editions and the first 3 arcs have been republished in the form of a "Golden Collection" (And it's also have the illustrations inside are colored and rather unusual for Russian publications (because the Russian artist of CW, Nasyrov, unfortunately died in 2020 and, accordingly, could not draw illustrations for the "Golden Collection")
I’m in the UK and I grew up with the US boxset covers from the early 2000s the only one I’ve seen on sale in the alternate covers is the UK darkest hour
In The Netherlands we also use the same covers as Germany! >:3 (But mostly in the earlier ones we have a number according to the book you're at) plus an arc is called a serie! :33 (more stuff cause yes) also Fire and Ice is called Fire and Water, and Forest of Secrets is just called: Secrets for some reason, plus part 6 is called "vuurproef" wich using translate means 'Crucible' or something wich uh- what? AND MORE! Part 5 is called 'Danger'
je suis français, et c'est amusant de voir la réaction d'une personne anglaise ! That is well at 10:27 fire and blood. We have a nice translation in France !! Warriors is "la guerre des clans"
The Russian "supereditions" were called that because they were both a combination of опасная тропа and битва за лес (translated as Dangerous path and Battle for the forest)
I'm pretty sure that Germany reprint of book three is Longtail as the nick is in the left ear of the cat and the cat almost matches his color excluding him having green eyes while tigerclaw/star has a nick in the other ear and is a much darker cat.
Funnily enough in my language they didn't even translate the name of Warrior Cats. Like the books themselves are translated, but the series is still called "Warriors", and the covers are the same as the English ones. But at least we _got_ translations for Warrior Cats - I don't think there's even a _translation_ for Wings of Fire.

The "ebook" édition for France is not ebook. It's the pocket version, a smaller book. Also the translation words to words of the serie would be "The war of the Clans". I don't think there is any "Fire and ice" equivalent in french, like " Feu et glace" sound wrong. "Of fire and blood" is an expression that means something like damaged (physically/mentally/) by the war, or just "being victim of war atrocity."
Funfact. The author of the Polish covers is Finnish, she did all the Polish covers of the main series not counting the 2nd, 3rd series and the illustrated first volume At first she wanted to create Finnish covers but Finnish publishers didn't want their own covers :(
If im remembering correctly btw, Yellowfang apeared in Forest of Secrets, which makes me think that on the Polish version that is Yellowfang. It also doesn't have Tigerclaw's stripes.
Yes the Israeli covers are really bad lol (Israeli here) Translations: 1) The erin hunter just reads as - Erin hanter (With accent and stuff added on top) 2) Warriors/Warriorcats - fighters of the wild/wild fighters/fighters wild Book names: Into the wild- To the forest/Into the forest Fire and Ice- Ice and fire Forest of secretes- Forest of secretes

dako also creates most of the art for bright guardian akira, a semi-famous warrior cats youtuber!
No way he forgot that Fireheart had to make a decision to save either Bramblekit or Yellowfang in the fire... It killed me every time he said "I'm not sure who that kit is.. but ok."
The cat head on German Forest of Secrets is Graystripe and Rising Storm is Yellowfang actually! Hence the scar.
Fun fact: The Romanian version of "Into the wild" is called "In the heart of the forest" (original: "În inima pădurii").
In French, the books are called, "The Clan Wars." good job. :)
I think the kit on the Rising Storm covers that Fireheart is holding is Bramblekit who he had to rescue from the fire
Ah, that does make more sense. Ty

Indeed, it is a recurring translation. Maybe it's a better/more authentic translation but tysm for telling me this.
firestar is a tabby.
a ginger/amber tabby; you can see by the M-type shape on his head on other official artwork.
He’s a ginger tabby. He’s described as having a pelt like fire. He’s bright orange
I think pretty much all orange cats will have stripes too, 😊even if they aren’t technically tabbies

Uhm... you know that the Israel Covers are the Covers from "Bluestars", "Crockedstars" and "CloudClans" Specials, are you?
You should do graphic novel covers next!
Interesting idea

why does finland have the same book covers as germany/austria instead of the belgium or russian ones?
