    Love the series so far, Rande! It's killing me to see these poles meet their demise since they are nicer than a lot of my poles, but it's also entertaining as heck! Maybe for the next season on this series, you test the ultralight rod strengths by hooking into giant muskies and seeing how much force is required for them to break off?

    • @GoMidwestFishing
      @GoMidwestFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a great idea! Now if I could only catch a Muskie that might work. Next time I throw out a 12 inch sucker minnow I'll put it on an ultralight and see what happens.

    Now that you've destroyed everything it's time for a trip to the tackle store for lots of new stuff🥶!!.......I'm number 18 on Reed's subscriber list👀👍!!

      We went to the Minneapolis boat show today. They weren't selling any fishing gear, so Reed and I went to Cabelas and went on a spending spree! Reed is super excited to see his new subscriber. He checks everyday.

    The last one got to 40 pounds??!! I’m actually so impressed by how strong these rods are! As always great fun video my Man!

      I think the pulley is reducing the pull on the scale, so it was probably much more than that. Quite impressive! It was a great learning experiment.

    I'm 61 years old been fishing since I was probably 3 or 4 in all that time I have never broken a rod on a fish, log, tree. Ultra light means just that 2lb, line 4lb line not braid.

    2nd rod name?

    • @GoMidwestFishing
      @GoMidwestFishing  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The 2nd rod was a 5 ft Shakespeare. If the name was legible on the rod, I tried to say what each one was before breaking it.

  • @HuntingFarmerOfficial

    Haha! I have ya fooled…I’m not very smart 😂 The actual weight you’re pulling is nearly double what the scale is showing. It depends on the angle it’s coming off the pulley, size of the pulley, etc. Back to the video, the lightweights held their own!! SlayerMike is the big winner! 😜 BTW, Mike could use some line too (according to his latest video 😂

    What rod brand pls

    • @GoMidwestFishing
      @GoMidwestFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      I had a mix of brands. What really seemed to matter was what material they were made of. Fiberglass was the strongest. The lightweight carbon rods broke that fastest.

    • @GoMidwestFishing

    Who in the hell puts 30lb braid on a ultralight?

    • @GoMidwestFishing
      @GoMidwestFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, apparently I do. Most of those poles didn't have reels on them, so I put a reel with heavy line on them so I would be able to break the pole before the line breaks. This was during Covid and we were being quarantined. Got a little stir crazy, so we started doing experiments.

    What's wrong with this human..others needs money to buy that thing while this man wants to broke many rod into pieces..
    Maybe it's good to test how rod is good in found test not to broke into pieces🙄🙄

    • @GoMidwestFishing
      @GoMidwestFishing  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Most of these rods were ancient, and from garage sales. I had over 30 rods that were never going to get used, so we had a little fun with them. I actually learned a lot about rod strength and how different build materials react to stress. Fiberglass is hands down the winner for strength, but is also the heaviest. The light carbon fiber rods break real easy. See, it was actually a learning experience, and lots of fun to do.

    you never took a physics course or you would know about using a pully.

    • @GoMidwestFishing
      @GoMidwestFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right. I did not take physics, but I would be happy to hear how the pully affects the weight on the scale.
