A lot of the food you can leave at the pantry box, potatoes, fruit, squash, meat take home freeze it. Cook,it for you and the dog.
We take as much as we can use, give away and donate. We don't have room to freeze much, and we don't really need much for us since we dive every few days to make the videos LouLou! Our dog is on a special diet! ❤Scrap It Up!

I think maybe you could take bags of potatoes to the blessing box and maybe go back in a day or two and if still there then take them somewhere a ND throw away again.
The problem is we don't have any near by, it takes an hour round trip to fill the three where we donate, so it would not be easy for us to do that! And we're already pretty busy. 😓Scrap It Up Edna!!!

Morning ladies. Do the food banks not take potatoes? That would been a great score for them . All that wasted when the store could have donated it. Congratulations on the upped price of scrap. Those babies look so sweet eating. Beautiful 🥰
The store probably does donate, but the food banks are run by volunteers who usually only pick up donations once a week so anything they need to get rid of in between pick ups gets thrown away! Why they keep ordering more potatoes than they can sell (this happens regularly at this store--bananas too!) is beyond me! I have a theory that they get a bigger tax break on what they throw away than they do for what they donate! ❤Scrap It Up Diana!!!

Apples! Yummy!! Make a few apple pies and freeze them. That is what the stores do 🙂 I need to invest in a chest freezer. Just a little one so I can do stuff like that when I find really good discount deals. I could eat 2 of those bags of potato's all by myself!! LOL! I love them in any way shape of form!
You know your pup can have baby carrots as like treats and canned green beans mixed into his food? A lot of vets actually will recommend it. MANY of my friends do it. Check with your vet or google.

SOAK regular potatoes CUT IN HALF in concentrated sugar water. Deers eat that up fast.

I hope your meats are cold when you find it. Wish I lived close I would love to have some of it. Really old so I can't go dumpster diving or rather we're not allowed to in our state. They do give a lot of food to difference places and they give it away for free.

@@leeannnicolaus5829 that's what we have in IL. I thought their ears looked long so I ask my husband why their ears were so long looking? We get them in our back yard and we have cane growing in the yard and we think they hid in it. One day a buck and doe had jumped our fence and were just walking around our raised beds. We wondered about a baby in there. We got pictures. We live close to a railroad track and they come up looking for food this was in 2021 and 3 young ones traveled together and even a fox and deer were traveling together so odd but neat. Our dog which we had just adopted keep trying to get us to the door walking to us and the door and talking, she has some Rottweiler in her. Sorry about rambling on. We love our dog and we share maybe to much.

You can take then potato’s and let them sprout and plant them and grow your own
All that fruit and veggies look really good. Some of it better than what I saw at the grocery store. I simply don't understand why they throw all that great useable food away, esp. all of the potatoes. Hopefully there are other dumpster divers in your town that will come rescue the food. Are to know why it was thrown away when the store could have donated it. You ladies do a great job at saving food for going to the landfill.
Tax benefits is why they throw it away. Write offs. Call your state reps offices, ask them.
