Oh to have a young bulletproof back once again. Alas, the tear makes the wear! What many don’t realize is when you are young the discs are like new erasers, soft, strong and playable. As you get old they harden, even crumble and then they slip one way or the other and you’re then sleeping on the floor. Such is life. Use it well Kyle!
Agree your place looks better without the old building. Yet, that old building was a treasure -- dry storage! A treasure until you had the time to build a proper woodshed according to your ideas. A treasure to store "stuff" until you have a proper home for it. With my years, I have lots of 20-20 hindsight. Things I wish I had done and things I wish I hadn't done. More of the latter than the first. Hope losing that old building doesn't become the same for you over the next year or so. Sometime a dry shelter is worth its weight in gold, regardless of how worn its outward appearance. Just 2-cents, this afternoon.
Ur build is awesome nothing like having a cabin and a women and a dog in the woods simply delightful stay safe and warm bud wishing u and urs the best ur friend jim from Illinois
Great video as always. Glad that none of the stuff you had in the shack got damaged. After watching Skeeter play, I took my little mutt out into the yard and threw some sticks for him to chase. Love Skeeter, you are right he is a very happy pup.
Oh, your property looks so much cleaner now that the shack is gone. I know you're relieved to have it down. Should make for a nice bonfire. Love those snowy night hikes! So beautiful and peaceful.
Nothing like a grilled cheese sanwichsandwich and hot bowl of soup on a cold winters day...my favorite dipping soup is tomatoe but they all serve the purpose.
The cabin definitely looks amazing with the shed gone! A bit concerned about the lack of storage/woodshed. Hope it won't cause problems. Of course, you have the construction skills to build what you need as long as the weather cooperates.
Just want to say its awesome all the work you've accomplished..I live in MN and are looking to buy property for a cabin..can you do a video on how you went about doing that..I've looked around but there's fishy people out there and rather get information from someone who has done it. Thank you and your videos are an inspiration.
You guys are having to much fun!!!. Should reuse!! Hey where's your buddy isn't he helping ????? Please be careful at night. Things do come out!! On your wood stove, can you guys get a fan and would that help you out? Hello Skeeter and Cierra.🙋
Hello Kyle. Greetings from Kentucky. Been watching your videos for a little while now and I really enjoy following your adventure. Being an animal lover I totally adore Skeeter. He sure is a great companion to have with you. And Cierra is really sweet too. You guys make a great family! Will you be building a storage building for your supplies? It looks so nice without the old shack. Look forward to the next video. Take care!
if snow got too deep on my cabin i believe ki would try to remove it someway. snow sometimes can be really heavy. would be a shame to lose yours. GOD BLESS.
It looked bad when you showed it recently as a place to store firewood. I was worried for you. Kyle's journal entry today which reads: "Ah, ye-yeah! Ah, >ahemahem
Yeah it helped it a long big time haha. I'm just glad it happened when nobody was in there or around it. Could have been bad. I was pretty foolish doing that with all the snow on the roof too. Sometimes I have to learn things the hard way. Thanks for watching!
Hello Kyles, I'm new to your channel. I really like your content. Thank you for sharing your cabin life. I like that your keeping it real. You show just how much work it takes to live in an off grid cabin. I have an off grid cabin in Northern Maine about the same size as your cabin. I haven't got my wife of 40 years to move into my cabin yet. lol You're doing pretty good to get your girlfriend to the off grid cabin. lol Glad to see the old building gone. When I saw the nice new cabin I thought it was only a matter of time before the old one was gone. lol I hope you have a great dat ATB Tom
You have to clean the snow off the roofs so the nice cabin that won't happen.Good thing it is shaped like an A shape that is good but make sure you clean the snow off.
Haha in a way I was kind of hoping the snow would assist it. That roof was sketchy even without the snow so I wasn't about to go up there. Thanks for watching.
Are you ever worried skeeter will stumble upon a wild animal (wolf, bear- or whatever) when he goes pouncing around and blazing down the trail ahead of you? Love the vids!
The cabin looks so much better without the shack!👍 I never get tired of watching Skeeter. What breeder did you get him from? I got my Springer from “ JWT Heavenly Springers” near St Cloud!!!
Well I like the cabin without the shed..but after watching the news this week about how that guy in Alaska cabin burned down, I thought it sure would of been nice to have a wood shed or Xtra shop to live in for those 20 days..he was stranded if you seen the new artical yet.
It really was an eyesore, now you can build a little storage shed there. Cierra and Skitter look super happy, what a nice way to start the video. 👍😊 By the way, if you ever want pointers on how to sharpen your saw, Bruno can help. I'll ask him to post something here. He's been watching your videos and learning a lot from you, we're big admirers! Some people from my channel said they also started following you and love the content! And soon enough you'll be able to do live streams, make sure you sign up for monetization on the channel so people can donate during the streams! ☝️😉 Regards and best wishes from lovely Vermont! 🤞🤓💖
This is my account in English, thought I'd give a like from here, too! 👍😁💖 While I'm here, this is a great and easy bread recipe. It will allow you to have fresh bread for weeks without having to run to town! th-cam.com/video/I0t8ZAhb8lQ/w-d-xo.html Keep up the awesome videos, we love them! 🤞💖
Enjoy the video Kyle. I was wondering what will you do for water during the summer months? I was also wondering does Cierra know how to shoot a gun if an emergency situation comes up? Y'all take care and try to stay warm. Have a Blessed Day Friends!
Thanks for stopping by! I'm going to pound a well this spring when the ground thaws and install a deep well pitched pump, that way I can use it in the winter as well. Cierra does know how to shoot a gun yes. Hopefully we never have to use it but we do keep it handy in case of emergency. We want to feed birds this summer so I'm sure we will have a visitor or 2 at some point.
When I was testing it out it was above zero. We just had a stretch of below zero days (it was -30 last night) and it has a hard time heating the bathroom addition. Once I get a fan out here that will help a lot and I'll put it back in. Cierra got back and I try my best to make her as comfortable as possible so with the colder temps I put the bigger one in for now until i get a fan.
I'm going to pound a well this spring when the ground thaws. I hauled water last summer and I will not be doing that again haha. I could collect rain water but if i pound a well and install a deep well pitched pump I can use the well in the winter too and dont have to melt snow anymore. Which will also be nice.
It may have looked ugly,, but your stuff & fire wood was dry windows were in one piece,...., 1/2 hour shoveling after the last snow stuff is still day...... I haven't had a problem with bears yet! Which is surprising considering the food and cooking we do inside the cabin. I'm always outside working and making noise so I think that keeps them away. They are more afraid of us then we are of them.

These are wonderful videos Kyle and Cierra. Skeeter is a fantastic dog!

Luckily nobody got hurt.

Processed lumber hard to obtain or carry in.
We noticed it in your last video and we wondered when you were going to address it :-).
haha I had a few comments about it so I figured I better address it. Thanks for watching.
What breed of pup is Skeeter? Love him!
Hes a Springer Spaniel!
Here's Johnny!! 😂😂😂
Looks like some of that roof could make a wood shed, if it's not burnt yet.
Wow! Bear claws!? Have you ever been in the shack when a bear was scratching on the door
I havent had any problems with bears. They come by (when they aren't in hibernation) but haven't wrecked anything.

I'm new. Did he build this old shed & did he live in it?
How old is your Springer spaniel ?
6 months old
What do you do for a water supply when the snow thaws? Curious. I just started watching recently.
