I would bet those slow downs/ralls in the intro are prob some genius metric modulation that's well above my league. I love Chris, definitely the most exciting drummer to come along in the last 10-15 years.
such mastery - control, power, independence, versatility. i need to listen to some records this cat plays on. i bet it wasn't even a mistake when he hit the microphone. 😆
Awesome. LllllooooOOOOVEE IT. Not only is the performance and just sheer ability to flow musically in a way that sounds so good, SO GOOD, but the kit also sounds SO GOOD. Too. Like god damn. Every drum is just utterly perfect.
My Brother, LOVED the story you just told, every chapter FILLED with anticipation for the next chapter to be , njoyed your story time, until the NEXT reading, HAPPY HOLIDAYS, My Brother.
I am curious how much he is truly playing off of the click versus choosing when to pay attention to it and when to shut it off. This solo is just amazing
Chris explained that TIME BENDING with Thomas Lang (on Drum Bonanza) - it's like there's a click, then GO ANYWHERE outside the click, BUT BE SURE TO HIT THE CLICK when you want to go back to it
I guess TH-cam needs two like buttons. Coz I hit like at the moment I saw Mr. Coleman's name ar VF channel and after watching this vid I wanted to hit like again 😆
Hmmm interesting... if you look at the metronome any birds eye angle like 3:32 , 4:35 , and for the CLEAREST example, 7:28 ... what he's playing is not lined up to that tempo in any way that I can understand. I wonder if he's being completely free over the metronome, and the metronome is giving him ideas whenever he decides to tune into the metronome... or if he's even using the metronome at all 🤔
It's funny, the snare sound is what I dislike the most about this video. Too much high end crisp, and too much of the snare wires in the mix. Nice that we can disagree huh? :)
Ok ok……. A little off-topic but when do we get to see the drum kit you designed and had sonar make for you?? It’s like it’s my drum kit and I am like so impatient about it. But please it’s been a long time.
Simply a wonderful drummer, power, speed, light, shade, class, groove!
God this is what a drum solo should be. Dynamics, groove, pocket, and CLEAN. Not too busy. Take notes people damn.
i can watch and listen to C. Coleman all day, his vocabulary is very inspiring
GRANDE chris, è tra i batteristi che preferisco in assoluto.
Hey @Vic Firth staff, please post more this kind of videos!
Chris Coleman never runs out of combos I love it
congratulations Vic Firth for bringing this super and amazing drummer here very good 🙏
@Official_VicFirth00 ola
@Official_VicFirth00 thank you
Chris makes me want to quit and practice at the same time. That's talent!
😂 💯
he could solo for hours and it'd never sound repetitive
Chris Coleman is the man! His love for the drums is contagious!
Chris is an amazing person I am so grateful I was able to take lessons from him back in the day. So happy to see he’s doing well.
That smile at the beginning says it all!
His command over the drums is outstanding!! Makes me wanna play again. 😎
Yes me too. I ve stoped to compose drum imitations .but he s. One of the drummers that give me thé fire to play again
i can watch and listen to Coleman all day, is very inspiring
Great job. Drums sounds amazing. Go Vic Firth.

Fabulous overall performance !!! just love Chris ❤️
such mastery - control, power, independence, versatility. i need to listen to some records this cat plays on.
i bet it wasn't even a mistake when he hit the microphone. 😆
I love how he plays with all of his toms just about level to the floor
Awesome. LllllooooOOOOVEE IT. Not only is the performance and just sheer ability to flow musically in a way that sounds so good, SO GOOD, but the kit also sounds SO GOOD. Too. Like god damn. Every drum is just utterly perfect.
The drums and cymbals sound perfect
One thing i like about Chris Coleman is he always has this face like “this drumming shit too easy” 😂
Every performance by Chris Coleman makes me think about the Universe, eternity and the meaning of life. Incredible musician
That TONE !!!!!!!!
I love as much when he plays and his silence!
My Brother, LOVED the story you just told, every chapter FILLED with anticipation for the next chapter to be , njoyed your story time, until the NEXT reading, HAPPY HOLIDAYS, My Brother.
I know he’s playing with a click, I would love to hear a version where we can here the click also. I can tell he’s playing around it a lot.
I am curious how much he is truly playing off of the click versus choosing when to pay attention to it and when to shut it off. This solo is just amazing
@@Booger-Magnolia I’m not fully sure, I don’t think he’s ever ignoring but probably hearing it differently. I’ll ask
Chris explained that TIME BENDING with Thomas Lang (on Drum Bonanza) - it's like there's a click, then GO ANYWHERE outside the click, BUT BE SURE TO HIT THE CLICK when you want to go back to it
I feel like he really tries to make the modulation obvious on this one by continually returning back to the main groove. A lot of 4:3
He hears/feels greater subdivisions. Likely 32nd notes.
Friendships to the Vic Firth company !
the mix WAS SO GOOOODDDD!!! kudos to sound engineer
Crazy solo altogether...very swingy and interesting
Very Happy to enjoy watching an Living Legend of Drumming!!!
Thanks for your existance , Mr. Chris Coleman ... You're a big inspiration for me
His sound is always great! I love it
Very musical and nice sound !!

meinl is owning everybody. Its insane how big they became
LET'S GO CHRIS COLEMAN WHOOO thank you for posting my drum hero 🙌🏿
Great drummer. Even better person.
I guess TH-cam needs two like buttons. Coz I hit like at the moment I saw Mr. Coleman's name ar VF channel and after watching this vid I wanted to hit like again 😆

That snare is absolutely killer.
And not only that! His kit is great!!

@@sjograas think i need urgent better Headphones. Can t Here snarewires. How do you listen TH-cam?
Do you know that is the best I’ve ever heard the vintage series sound before.
Sounds so loose...love it
We Respect ! and learn from you so much sir
7:48 and 10:19 are my favorite hits. That hit at 10:19 is equally satisfying as his louder ones
Yooooooo you can see the metronome at 6:27 and omg! Makes this even more amazing to see the tempo that he's playing around. CC the greatest.
He makes it look so easy.
Always ready for new CC content!!
Beautifully done!
chris is outstanding! wow.
Mind blowing🔥🔥🔥
ce mec est incroyable!
Such a great music %)
reminds me of Billy Cobham, muscular grip and force or subtle and dynamic when needed
7:35 😂😂😂😂😂😂
sei un grande Chris!!!!!!!!! 💪
Love you Chris. Nothing more to say
Dynamics. I mean... Legend.
One of the very few players that make me wanna grab anything that even resembles drum sticks and HIT SOMETHING! 😂
Merci Chris 💜💜💜
I hear time differently after this solo, whoa
What do you mean hear time differently?
@@thedrummerguy75vids48 the way he pushes and pulls the subdivisions around gives me a lot of new ideas!
Yes
Amazing
Is it possible to have a video where we also hear the metronome?
Nice bro!
Drum IS a flow .. donati , Coleman, agren have this sense of flow
Ok ok……. A little off-topic but when do we get to see the drum kit you designed and had sonar make for you?? It’s like it’s my drum kit and I am like so impatient about it. But please it’s been a long time.
Bro, uve come up with some amazing switches, this video is killer, correct me in the future if i was wrong. So good!
This is the fewest amount of toms I’ve ever seen Chris play
Chris Coleman's level in already in AUTO PILOT (like Vinnie and others)
Guy is ridiculous. Incredible.
Amazing drumming!
No info on what VF stuff he used in the description?
Te amo Chris sos un groso
“You are watching a master at work…”
Extremely high hats.
7:26 i looked up at my screen at the right time, lol
Muito TOP!!!! Chris is a monster!!
Master🙌🏻
this is epic af
7:33 ❤
He's making fun of us 😄😄😄
What heads is he using in this vid? Toms
The Big Drummer!!!!
Lol @7:32 I thought I lost audio for a second 😂
Gives whole new meaning to the adage: it's the notes you don't play 😉
I'm 101% sure that the best metronome in the market can't keep up with him.
Watch - Alastair will put a backing track to this..
amazing as always! whats the crash on the right?
Looks to be a Meinl Byzance Dual Crash. Not sure of the size. But most likely 18" or 20"
20” meinl dual crash ride
@1:45 which kick pedal is that
Dw 9000
What sticks are you playing with Chris ?
His signature stick with Vic firth
If I were a woman, I would marry this man.
When somebody asked u:what whas that?
-rimshot or rimclick? That was bass player!))
What kind of kit is that? Doesn't look like sonor.
Sonor vintage
