When I started collecting, I got the games I played when I was younger and knew I would love to play again. Then I researched similar games and found a whole world of different games I never knew existed before.

Awesome advice. That why I started with the PlayStation 2 and went on from there with my collection.

Great point that I liked you saying in the video is get a game that you're going to have fun with! a lot of people who do a collecting in my area I always hear from the person checking me out asking are you going to play these and I said of course they look fun and they say oh yeah we get people all the time who just say they collect them and never going to play them. To me that saddens me so I buy these so then I can have fun with them and my family can have fun with them and my friends not just sit on the shelf collect dust.

They also could buy plug and play consoles, many of which have a collection of several stored games ready to play.

I just finished collecting for my n64, I have just about 40+ games for it. Now I'm starting to collect for snes maybe get a controller or 2, only have 3 games at the moment. My opinion is start with what you like ^_^. and remember that a collection doesn't have to be complete, just get the games you like, ex. I have like 5 psp games not looking to get more because those 5 I know I love. The reason I got 40+ n64 games is because I loved that console as a kid and I bought all the games I remembered renting.

Great tips! Yeah Thrift stores and local Goodwills are a great place to start. They are usually around $5 or less and sometimes they might have half-off days. Sometimes you can find some great games that are worth a lot or some really good AAA games. There are times that I may have to buy a few games online if there a game that doesn't come around at Thrift Stores.

Great video dude, as for the cartidge based systems I would start with the NES and Genesis, there are a lot of great games super cheap on them.

Wii u is a solid system that tends to get overlooked, but I love it!

I was able to get an Original N64 and Original Controller(Pretty good condition, EIther thumbstick was replaced or it was a well taken care of controller) + Golden Eye for 100 dollars. Pretty much bought all the games I want for the N64 as of right now, still need to add Majoras Mask and Banjo and several more.
Just started collecting for Gamecube, bought a CIB black Gamecube and super Monkey ball 2.
The Gamecube games are super expensive right now so I might go and collect for the SNES instead of the Gamecube. (or even the Sega Genesis or ps2)
This is in the span of 3 weeks. I just started game collecting 3 weeks ago my funds are kinda running dry because of my collecting spree. Thanks for the advice.

Got any advice on sega Saturn games? I only know of resident evil and nights into dreams. Any other sought after, fun games? Could you do a video on that?

@@RetroVideoGamePickups my local shop usually sells me PS3 games for 2-3 bucks apiece. Last time I was there they had a set of ps3 controllers I'd never seen. One was red and black. The one I snagged was silver and red. They feel like genuine Sony issue. Think I paid 5 bucks for it.
