its not natural though, everything we grow has been selectively bred for thousands of years, we just need to be selecting for nutritional content over just sugar and longevity
Modern fruits you grew up with, bear NO similarly to the originals that our ancestors ate. I'm 65 but modern apples and stone fruit are nothing like the ones I ate as a child.
We've been changing things for thousands of years, lot's of the fruit we eat and have been eating for a long time can hardly be recognised when compared to the original.
@@musuyanguba4226I heard that bandana's tasted different in the 1970s but I like most people have only known the current banana. Modern agriculture is just a sea of monocrops.
15:35 Nutrient content of modified food an afterthought........16:00 - 17:40 impact of modified/cultivated fruit on the gut macrobiome is considered for health of zoo animals but for humans????????
Im really concerned these veggies and fruits are getting more sweeter actually sugar molcures from fruits are the same as sugar molcures from chocolate cakes...
idk which sugars are in what or how many sugars there are. one thing i do know is sugarcane vs corn syrup is sucrose vs fructose type sugar, idk how which plants have which, but sucrose is healthier.
It has nothing to do with the growers. It’s the plant breeders. All fruits especially have become much sweeter since the 1970s. Food has become more homogeneous and less tasty, as selection has favoured uniformity and sweeteners and ability to travel.
It matters firstly because there is evidence that bitter compounds in the diet are beneficial for us. Secondly sweeter fruit and veg just habituate us even more to sugary foods. Thirdly, sweeter veg are more susceptible to pests (as they too like sweeter foods) thus requiring more pesticide use.

I thought I was the only one who thought this, thanks for posting. I started noticing this when I stopped buying organic foods, especially vegetables.
You should not interfere with natural foods like this.

Farhana, i can understand for you is difficult to understand this. Because in your holy book they dont believe in evolution.

If people buy, they produce

Some of us just want the old actual corn taste.
Many people don’t know what the old actual corn taste like.

Some breed of Naval orange is one fruit that I found they often totally ruin it.
I prefer vegetable that are a bit bitter, which most Asian ones are.

Perfectly fine to consume in moderation, and fruit contain many other nutrients as well as fibre. Cake is usually loaded with fat.

Cultivated fruits and vegetables are nothing like the wild ones but they are still best options ❤

I hate the corn which is so sweet , I wish we can go back to original flavour . everything is dictated by big investors and super markets
I also like desi variety of corn.

Well, we made bananas and strawberries taste terrible, why stop there?
I didn’t get the part about why it matters.
