@@N4TCM You know him? I'd have loved to have met him. I've seen him quite a few times, mostly at the NY STATE FAIR. I did say hi to him as he was going to backstage. Said he was the BEST.
edinsyracuse1699. Heard his music since I was an early teenager in the late 70's. And a fellow ham radio operator. A radio conversation with him I found on You Tube from 2022.
I absolutely LOVED this song when I was a kid.. young black girl growing up in the roughest housing project in KY. ..and in love with Ronnie Milsap..lol
It's a song written by Burt Bacharach and originally sung by Chuck Jackson, But Ronnie does a fabulous rendition, Burt never let you sing a song of his unless you sang it his way. He always had creative control of his music. th-cam.com/video/RPgE991VDwM/w-d-xo.html
@danahoward759 I'm an inner city kid from Cincinnati Ohio, now 54 years old, and LOVE this song!!! I think when music is RIGHTEOUS, it can reach ANYONE!!! ❤❤❤❤
My wife has seen RM in concert at least 10 times and I love hearing her stories of his amazing stage presents. She also told me that RM was better live!!😊
Congratulations on making the Country Music Hall of Fame! Reminds me of traveling south in my parents van to see family listening to the country stations ....nothing like it anymore... Good days!
This song creeped in my head, involuntarily. I had to come look for it. It hit the spot. Aces all around. Sounds as good now as the last time I heard it on the radio. That must be 1980-something.
I remember this song when it was new, I was still in preschool. Throughout the decades, especially since my 20's, the chorus comes running out of nowhere through my mind like a pack of wild horses. Like now, at 3 AM when I'm trying to get to sleep. No idea where it came from, I'm just enjoying the beauty of it playing by. I didn't enjoy the "beauty " of myself singing it, so off to TH-cam I ran. Had no idea a video existed until now. Perfectly fits the image I'd always had in my mind hearing (and pretty much living) it. This was always one of my favorite Ronnie songs, but the video just moved it to the top. Country Gold 🤎
I'm a fan of Ronnie myself. I think it's awesome that, even though he's blind, he can still sing and play the piano. I'm also a musician, and I've got cerebral palsy in my left hand and I think I've learned somethin' from Ronnie-don't let disabilities stop you from doing what you love. Even though I've got cerebral palsy, I sing and play steel guitar and Ronnie's music is awesome!
Despite the lack of airplay over the years, Ronnie Milsap unequivocally had one of the best voices of any country male artists in Nashville. Having 40 #1 hits to his credit, his cross-over success and appeal to pop/R&B/country fans showcased their love for an excellent, pure voice. We remember his songs, this one, Smoky Mt. Rain, No Getting Over Me and Lost In The 50s Tonight, and how he sang with crystal clear clarity and charisma. A beautiful voice that will forever remain time-tested, greatly appreciated, loved and well remembered by fans the world over!
Ronnie Milssp is a great lover of 50s music ..Chuck Jackson would be proud of how Ronnie took this song and kept the beauty of it alive for future generations of people everywhere ..Thank you Ronnie
the most current fight from me and my girlfriend,, this song defined it. it was exactly how i felt. every single word and line. liveon forever ronnie~!
It's a fine line between country...pop...or whatever these days. Ronnie and the Eagles sure did break a lot of ground for us today. There are some styles that stand the test of time and.....
Well that's funny that you say that because this was not written by Bacharach as a country song. If you check out the original version by Chuck Johnstone you will see what Bacharach's intention was. You are assuming that Ronnie wrote it.
I didn’t appreciate this song so much as a kid, passing time listening to the radio in my room. As a grown up, now having been through some heartbreaks and nostalgic for those simpler times of childhood, this song really pulls me in.
my favorite performer who had so many damn good hits and seemed to be underappreciated for his music cause you never hear his name mentioned when u hear talk of greatest country singers of all time. thanx for the vid anyways
I LOVE Ronnie Milsap. Sad to hear he just played his last concert, but glad he did it on his own choice and on his own terms. So many of his hits played a HUGE part of my upbringing and roller skating days. On a different note: The description of this video "films Ronnie Ronnie with his all white Yamaha piano" -- made me think for a moment the keys would be white. They aren't. Beautiful song.
Reminds me of a girl from way back when..I could see us growing apart and although I wanted to accept it, my heart wouldn't let me, and I was still devestated when it happened. Songs like this make it a little easier.. Beautiful song, especially with the smooth vocalizations of Mr. Ronnie Milsap
Ronnie turned me on to country music, I was never a country fan until I heard his wonderful voice and I thought maybe I should give country a chance. Thank you Ronnie!
God Bless you Mr. Milsap sorry for all your loss. God will show us all with all our loved yousoon we shall walk the golden roads of out great home on high with our loved ones who made the cut. Praying for your health. Still listening to your music daily.
