In dc shunt motor field winding which produces flux is connected in parallel with supply.. & in parallel voltage remains same also field winding resistance is same hence current of field winding is same so the flux remains constant same with separately excited dc motor. But in Series motor field winding is connected in Series with armature & armature current varies so field current & flux also varies ..
