*Never say that again.*
😅
lmao
Right? I could get behind Cherry Popping but damn... xD
shrek is love shrek is life
nah we all have to say it every day now, it's the law. say it or go to jail forever. XD
Too bad they have *_zero_* knowledge of all the fairytales that Shrek depends on for all of its references, minor characters and in-jokes; however, even without that extra layer of enjoyment, they still had a blast... that's how good of a romp Shrek is.
When a parody is done right, it can still work as someone's original; half of classic Simpsons is a movie reference I didn't get and just took at face value
I wonder how familiar they are with the Western fairytale characters? Someone called the Gingerbread Man a "doll." Which confuses the comedic effect of dipping him in Milk and his missing legs as a form of torture. 😀 😉 He's a Cookie/biscuit!
Yep! Zero familiarity with Western fairytales, so they missed and/or misunderstood/misinterpreted every single reference and in-joke, in addition to having no concept of Robin Hood and his Merry Band and even missed the Matrix gag, which they've watched but could not make the connection, with Fiona's in-the-air pause. It's a shame that that layer (onions have layers, the movie Shrek has layers) of the experience was so beyond their ken; regardless, they clearly had a blast with it... just goes to show how brilliant the movie is.
It's okay they're going to love part two, which is one of the best animated movies ever and there's ton of callbacks from the first movie so I'm sure they'll recognise a lot.
@@Trazynn Recognize yes, but still not know what they are: Who is Pinocchio and why does his nose grow... maybe they'll get that it has to do with fibbing? The 3 blind mice? Gingy? The Wolf in drag and the 3 little pigs? The ugly stepsister? All rooted in Western tales and nursery rhymes that are not part of their culture; and forget about understanding the white bronco gag (I wouldn't expect anyone outside North America, unless they happen to be avid media hounds, to get that one). Therefore, all flavor, nuance and inuendo will be lost on them.
I'm sure they'll enjoy it nonetheless, as they did with this one, and they should get a real kick out of seeing Puss in Boots as they've seen him before.
Are you familiar with Indian fairytale characters?
I’m sure if they had their own version of Shrek, most of the references would be lost on us. Do they have anything like Shrek over there?
That title made me do a double take wtf haha
It’s perfect for shrek lol. I think they use an AI to come up with the titles and description.
@@jaredf6205 that actually makes a lot of sense
Same
@@samrogers5090It does. Shrek is love, Shrek is life
Same
Fun Fact: Shrek was modeled after Maurice Tillet, a wrestler from the 1940's, who's unusual appearance was not too different from that of Shrek's.
whose not who is, but yes thanks
aka "the french Angel".
I didn't know that but that's pretty cool, thank you.
You're kidding? That explains the wrestling scene so much now.
I love the appreciation they show for animation at the beginning.
It's nice when people understand it's a medium all ages can enjoy, not just "kids' stuff".
At the time Shrek stood out for being such an edgy movie with a lot of adult humor. Of course since then Shrek has been memed to something that all ages appreciate, but I still vividly remember people were confused as to which audience this movie was intended to be for.
Well, cartoons technically are "kids stuff."
As the old saying goes... Beauty is in the eye of the *big ogre.*
Please, finished series of Harry Potter and Shrek. And also show them trilogy "How to train your dragon".
It really puts into perspective how dependent on cultural references we are. From the 3 blind mice, to just idea of gingerbread as a type of cookie, I'm glad they enjoyed the movie, and it speaks to its value outside of meme-like reference, but so much of it they clearly didn't have the context for.
As a kid grown up overseas, I think of gingerbread cookies as being a reference to Gingy, not the other way around
Its good to see Raju after so long.
Shrek 2 is just as funny!😂❤
Followed by _Shrek the 3rd (Shrek the Turd)_ which drops the ball big time; then _Shrek Forever After_ redeems the franchise with a BIG finish... or so we though... a 5th installment is in the works.
Shrek 1 was innovative but Shrek 2 was far better in every aspect. Never seen Shrek 3 and I don't believe I ever will.
I don't recommend it. You can just stop at 2 and live a happy life.@@Trazynn
Still waiting on the reactions of the last 2 Harry Potter movies.
Ayo that title is crazyyy
Ohhhhhh let's goo, from my childhood to yours
From Canada 🇨🇦 hello to India 🇮🇳
Wonderful reaction. A real example of film transcending barriers.
Welcome back Raju. I really enjoyed this one, it was nice to see them having fun and all dancing and singing at the end 😃
I love that babu likes animated movies and says it firmly. Many men and adults in general act like it’s only for kids.
1:37 Then I might know just the movie about dragons. Please watch "How To Train Your Dragon."
They definitely should.
Yes!!!!
Show them footage from Shrekfest. I don't think they realize just how big Shrek is in western culture.
Its a lot funnier if you undrstand the folk tales referenced.
Curious, are they watching Dubbed or Subtitled? It is also interesting to see reactions to Western fairy tales!
I've wondered this too. I know a lot people find subtitles too much of a bother, but at least that way you get the original voice performance.
They always watch videos that are dubbed.
It's been said before, plus some of the guests can't even read their own language, 🙁 so dubbing is the best route.
I honestly want to be able to tell these guys the story on how Dreamworks came to be. And how Shrek was simply supposed to be Jeffrey Katzenberg's middle finger to Disney but ended up becoming a cultural icon. 😂
Great reaction… but please never use that title again😂
Interesting how much they enjoyed the film in spite of not knowing the fairy tale characters.
Almost like the quippy references were never the good part. Never forget Sharktale
Too bad they don’t understand 90% of this movie. Good choice.
Shrek is love shrek is life ♥️
Sir, make them watch Japanese anime. I recommend Castle in the Sky and Spirited Away.
They'd really appreciate even the older ones, like Totoro or Kiki's Delivery Service; or the pre-Ghibli Lupin III movie, for that matter
I remember the first time my family and I watched Shrek. We were blown away by the animation and we laughed our behinds off. Eddie Murphy was sooooo funny in this movie.
Me and my brother just watched Shrek just now, what a coincidence 👍🎉
I hope my friends will get to ‘Big Hero 6.’
MAKE SURE YOU WATCH ALL THE WAY TO THE END!!!! I mean the end END!
I think these guys would love the monsterverse and planet of the apes
In the first few reaction clips, I confess I felt a bit of a cringe at Bapu's songs but now I can't leave without watching that part and I am impressed at of how many he remembers the lyrics for. Respect!
where is raeen😢😢 , badshahh invite him too glad that raju return
Yes, I also miss Badshah
great choice!
Shrek is a classic. It was the first dvd I ever got as a kid, I was about 10, I watched it over and over. Also the title, lol.
Ahh... remember watching this On a DVD.... wonderful days😂❤
When your parents are asleep and the main menu of Donkey saying: "PICK ME!!" over and over drives you insane
@@LokiturnedmeintoaFrogYes! DVD menu music would always be on a 10 second loop and if you fell asleep, the movie would end and the music/talking loop would seep into your dream and it would feel terrible to slowly wake up to it.
I remember we had it on VHS and DVD, and it was such a treat to be able to put on the dvd, that menu with Gingy on the cookie sheet. I loved seeing the bloopers and animation errors
"Play da movie!"
_"Ja!_ Play!"
Actually I remember watching it on a VHS 😅
OH WOW I think you should look for a movie / film that tells the stories of fairy tales. I'm thinking they've missed the jokes and story points. They laughed at the right parts because they are funny. Like in the beginning when they were collecting fairy tale character and we saw the donkey for the first time. Right before that was the character Pinocchio. They laughed because his nose grew . Well in the story if Pinocchio doesn't tell the truth his nose grows. I wonder if you could show them the animated movie Pinocchio. The original 1940 version. I don't know if you will get a good recording for TH-cam but it might give them some background.
I just had a thought... You have to show them The Princess Bride (1987)! They will love it!
I love their reactions. I highly recommend showing them the sequel this movie. I also think they would love other animated movies, such as "Princess and the Frog", "Tangled", and "Aladdin". Also, "Alice in Wonderland", both the 1950s animated film and the 2010 live action
You three are too wholesome. Even without fully understanding the western fairytale references, anyone can see you enjoyed it.
Hey there guys! It'd be great if they could watch ' Shrek 2' as well. It's a really good continuation of the story. Definitely worth watching😃
My 3 favorite guys watching one of my favorite movies?!? Oh my, it’s a good day! Thank you for what you do. May your views and likes always be equal.
its a love letter to fairy tales.
What up Raju!!
Raju is backkkk!!!!!
I think they're ready for the animated version of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. And that film has the most astounding musical opening ever, too. I know Babu will enjoy it, he loves music!
React to hunger games movies?
Oh, how lovely
At 16:25 when Donkey and Shrek finally get across the bridge, Shrek says, "That'll do, Donkey," which is a reference to the movie "Babe" I strongly recommend that movie.
Always fun to see Babu's head bobbing to music.
Fact: The king of Duloc was inspired in the CEO of Disney: a dictator who enslaves cartoons. The director was fired from Disney Studios and created Dreamworks with Spilberg. That is the main reason that Sherk was written like a parody of fairytales. Also, Sherk won the first Oscar to an Animated Movie. The perfect revenge.
I think they like It 🙂hehe
Shrek was one of my first animated films I saw in theaters with my family and I got to admit this film really does a hilarious job on making fun of Disney and the Fairytale genre in a good way. On top of that there were a lot of adult jokes that flew over my head as a kid and understood the context of these jokes when I got older.
Looking forward to their eventual reaction to _Shrek 2._
After Shrek 2 they can watch Puss in Boots 2
I wonder how they’d react to _AKIRA._
Please react to MEGAMIND animated movie .....and other animated movies
Inceidibles
Kung fu panda and many more
Love you guys
We would love to get to hear some of what THEY are hearing ... the Hindi translation ....... especially on classic, hilarious films like Shrek! =)
My favorite fact about this movie is that it’s in the us national vault. There’s something so special about Shrek.
Shrek is love… Shrek is life
Could you do reactions to classics of western music? "Simple Man" by Lynard Skynard please.
Why don't you never ever explain them cultural differences. They would get more jokes and references across movies and get more instruction like the aim of the main channel is. Or rather was, because views matter more
This is the best reaction I had ever seen for this movie. I will watch it again. Such a beautiful channel.
wow thank God Raju is back 🧡🤍💚
Pls let them react to Superman Returns 2006. It is a 3 hour long movie but I'm sure they will enjoy it.
Glad they enjoyed it but it's unfortunate just how may references to western culture they could not have understood. Would've been 10x better.
I like how their reaction to Shrek and Donkey splitting up in the spooky castle was basically, "Smart, cover more ground that way."
Watch Hulk from 2003 man, they havent seen the best marvel movie!
Babu's hair looks so good in this video
Thank you for the wonderful video reaction! 👏
Great reaction!
Now, Shrek 2 and Puss in Boots!
I wondered if they would like it since I didn't think they would get the cultural references.
Awww all three of them singing at the end was so sweet
90% of the characters are from western fairly tales, it makes a lot more sense if you grew up with those tales.
fun fact. shrek pauses to think amd make up a name after donkey asks his name.
he never had a name.
just the ogre
Ahh yes, my childhood. Thank you for sharing.
Babu gets dressed up like Paul Stanley on the catwalk and Ol' Raju still in the same red chefs hat and chest armour shirt. I missed him. It's been a while since his last appearance.
I would love to see their reaction of Shrek musical
PLEASE react to “The Princess Bride” (1987). It is another story that is equally funny, yet wholesome. It is older & very low-budget, compared to what you all have been watching; a touch that makes it even more funny. I hope you see this :)
Much love from the US 💗
TH-cam.com/@reactnew I would love to see Madam Ruby, Sir Babu, & Sir Raeen experience this comedy together 🙏🏽
The Princess Bride
(1987)
Wow Raeen, Love the shirt! So cool. I wish I had that shirt.
How To Train Your Dragon franchise next
The song at the end sounded very cool with the 3 of them singing it
It wouldn’t surprise me if the DnD meme “barbs “loves” dragon” was inspired by Donkey
I think it's the other way around
Can u start showing them “real” universal cinema not weird out of context American Hollywood movies or cartoons.
Suggestions would be useful
It was cringe seeing them miss all the references haha
Shrek is love, shrek is life ✨
Great reactions! I remember watching this on vhs.
shrek with the boyss. doesnt get better
I love the bit where Shrek and Donkey are making fun of Lord Farquaad.
Shrek: Let me put it to ya this way, Princess. Men of Farquaad's stature are in SHORT supply.
Donkey chuckles- I don't know, Shrek. There ARE those who think LITTLE of him.
Shrekvirginity?
studio ghibli pleaaaase
Ah, the crown jewel of animation movies! Finally! :D Hope they'll see the sequels, too, soon. But I'm also still hoping for a Monster University react.
Other than that, are there still big animation movies left to react to? Well, How To Train Your Dragon would be a fantastic react, I'll bet!
Otherwise, I would love to see a reaction to _Surfs Up!_
I will never stop asking for these wonderful reviewers to be exposed to A Knights Tale! Honour! Destiny! Horses!
A Knights Tale! Especially now they've seen The Dark Knight. Tell them beforehand that it's the same actor, it'll be brilliant!
Knights tale is great, they would enjoy it.
Weird title lmfao
It’s basically Beauty and the Beast (with satire).. it’s an archetypical story and the themes run deep in multiple cultures. It’s so enjoyable to watch their reactions.
Oh, my goodness!
‘Shrek’ is still my number one favorite animated movie from Dreamworks…
💚
your title is crazy
You must let them see les misérables
I'm sure they would love the heartbreaking story ❤
I love how Babu gives some of his thoughts through song .. .. very enjoyable !
The title 💀
I hope they see the rest of the Shrek movies too! They sure will apreciate the story line as a whole.
Now you need to show them Shrek 2, 3 and 4 also 🥳🥳🥳
