This must be the reman 7.3. The stock 7.3 blocks can’t take this kind of power. They can take maybe 5-600 after that you’re pushing it. If it’s a true 7.3 block don’t let it punch a hold in the block cuz they don’t make them anymore.

the exhaust coming from it is actually not that bad it could be much worse for sure.... I'd say he's got a pretty good setup going as far as fuel to boost ratio if you will.
About 22,000 dollars to make that 7.3 a p pump monster, not including machining / block & head work, that's just the engine, about 1800-2000 horsepower
I really wanna build a summer daily driver mustang, camaro or challenger with build turbocharged power stroke, duramax or cummins. Would be funny and awesome
Charlie Wolf no man dpf makes diesels lose power mpg and reliability the smoke isnt bad its just unburnt fuel why would you want to stop the coal?? I swear man damn prius owners.
Ellenor Bjornsdottir ? The smoke is too much fuel not enough burn burns. It has less nox2 than a clean burn at the same rpms. And yes wolf they’re working on dpf tuning and electric gated turbos to be able to tune with an emissions system. As of right now, anyone parading a deleted diesel in the us is being fined by the epa. Watch out.
Lol. It's a 7.3 They're great engines, love mine. But they REALLY like starting fluid. Especially cause this guy probably has a cam that makes it hard to idle.
It's cool as hell, gotta give it that, but you can do more with a Cummins. It's insane how much power they will make before they explode, and I'm a GM guy.
He is running a Bosch p7100 injection pump, and the timing is very advanced for correct fuel timing at high rpm. However there’s no way to retard the timing for easier starting. Also large delivery valves in the pump, and large injectors create a fog of fuel in the engine, reducing cylinder temps. The ether is used as a volatile fuel to get the engine started and get a little heat in the cylinders until auto-ignition can take place and the engine runs on the diesel fuel being supplied. I wouldn’t be surprised if he decompressed the engine as well, when it was designed. Lowering the compression ratio allows higher pressure ratios (more boost ) while still keeping cylinder firing pressures within material limitations- the engine block needs to stay in one piece, the heads need to stay on and sealed, and the rods, bearings, and crankshaft have to live.
Alexander Elrod it took me couple of days to achive 800 hp in my ram dually, but the guys of CPP in Pennsylvania, the ones who rebuild my Cummins (my working truck ) show me pulling truck than make 2,500 hp with little mods, it just depends on the machine shop, mechanics and tunners plus how much money you can throw into it, is just for the love of diesel power, but they done a fantastic job
