Omg I litteraly just did a school presentation on this we had to give an example of a well written charecter and explain what makes them a good charecter lol
Studio Orange seems to have some good potential. They make everything 3D CGi but they still seem to keep the facial expression as 2D which makes things appealing and prevents that awkward uncanny valley.
You'd be surprised to find how many scenes they actually animate in 2D! Generally close up shots, facial expressions, breaking, etc. They put in so much effort ♥️
@@hhrhndhs8823 True, and it seems that Studio Orange does have a good track record. But can they handle the Berserk series after the potential disasters of 2016 and 2017 that other studios have tried in the past?
They’be always been the pioneers of 3d animation. If an anime used 3D and it *didn’t* end up looking like the disaster of the 2014 Beserk anime, chances are Studio Orange were behind it.
Studio Orange consistently produces the best 3D anime because they use the medium to it's strengths, and bring in hand drawn animation when it's more effective. They show mastery over the medium, and express a lot of stuff that would be nearly impossible through traditional animation

The thing that really hit me in the manga was the explanation as to why Phos was chosen as the one to undergo the change - it was basically stated that in order to even start becoming human, you need to know loneliness/longing (aside from the characteristic being part of the plan that hinged on isolating Phos from her surroundings).
@@NatalieXHunter one interesting take I found online (can’t remember where, sorry) is that Phos was one of the gems most resembling a human child (in particular their psyche, with all the curiosity, stubbornness and need to belong). Looking at it that way, Enma’s decision makes a lot of sense - a child is an entity the most suited to becoming a complex being (by growing up) through exposure, decision-making and facing hardships. Which is exactly what happened to Phos.
Wouldn't we all just die if the next season came along and they decide to hit us with a hiatus that happens to be in the same spot as chapter 95? XD Also anyone else remember that this manga was advertised as 'hey if you like Steven Universe you might like this!' I still find it kind of weird that they did that.
Where Steven is just a young gem trying to find his purpose, same as Phos. Both shows have gem people. Both protagonists going through a whole lot of mental suffering. Then again those similarities are superficial at best. The same can be said about most protags minus the gem people part.
@@lorefox201 i think its intentional, just like puella magi madoka magica, they advertised it as a cute cute magical girls anime, makes the twist even better honestly
While I like the manga I really hope we see more seasons of the anime, I personally find it the more enjoyable way to experience the story. Phos' descent is such an uncomfortable character arc but just fantastic, if you do more videos on HnK I'd love to see one on that, although I sure it's been done plenty. I also really love how the promise to Cinnabar being forgotten coincides with her gradual turn. It was really the first true goal Phos had, and just feels so meaningful that the loss of those memories happens in tandem with what feels like her becoming a villain. I would say she did become one, but it does seem strange to say because in the end it seems she might have made the right choice, at least for everyone else.
Finally! I really love HnK, and i'm really happy you're covering it out. The passage of time within HnK really is scary for me, seeing Phos changes from time to time, while the world itself kept being stagnant is very uncomfortable. It's very unimaginable the 10.000 years of wait Phos has to gone through with nothing besides him. Phos became the tool for the others to change, but the others themselves never changes on their own will. Now that everything has moved because of Phos, everyone left him worsening his feelings of stagnations. Going through all of those years only to forget most, or maybe even all of it. Phos did not deserve any of this. Great analysis as always! Side note: I think you look perfect being a Cinnabar, knowing that your main avatar have red hairs. But the current one is still amazing tho!
Haha I didn't make the avatar with any particular gem in mind, I just tried out a load of different hues for it and decided I liked the jade green best... I actually wanted to be a diamond but my modelling skills aren't up to making Dia style hair!
you should read "those who walk away from Omelas", it's basically a short story about a perfect city with perfect happiness and no pain BUT in exchange of it all one innocent child must live in extreme suffering locked in a tiny cell. the inhabitants can at any time chose to free the kid but they don't because they're too perfectly happy. the parallels to the last arc are too much.
When I first realized the gems were trying to become Lunarians, I was like No! Somebody say something! You’re being tricked! I feel especially bad for those Gems like Yellow Diamond, Rutile, and Euclase who already feel the weight of those centuries and whether they know it or not just want to be released from it.
Land of the Lustrous really made me think about time in a more deeper way when u go by anime standards with the mc being immortal and all that, loved the video
3 ปีที่แล้ว +17
The virtual avatar is sooo fascinating :3 you look like you're from the universe Natalie!
I have always seen immortals are either bored and seek mayhem or destruction or they are depressed and lonely. That does seem like a Meta gap. Also it’s hard to recommend Attack on Titan or talk about it
This video has manga spoilers so you might want to skip it if you're anime only, but if you liked the anime then the manga is definitely worth checking out!
I will come back to this video once I've caught up with the manga. Til then, here's a comment to increase engagement. Also, thank you for not spoiling anything in the thumbnail. It can be quite annoying when an anime channel decides to do a manga video but then puts manga spoilers in the thumbnail and title. Or they don't warn the audience that there will be manga spoilers. Really appreciate that you didn't do that.
I think an interesting event that would occur with a 10,000 year time skip is that would be sufficient time for an entire new populace of gems to start up on the island, gems are naturally born about once a century roughly speaking, so Phos will definitely not be alone for 10,000 years, the real question is how is she going to treat the newborns, will she be hostile to them and destroy them? or will she protect them from the lunarians creating a brand new war with them?
If Phos has Kongou's desire to raise the gems, then I think the cycle would continue - Phos would realize that praying will kill the young gems as well as the Lunarians and older gems, and so would refuse to do it, ending up with the war just continuing. If Phos chose not to raise new gems at all and just smash them then it would be possible to pray and give the Lunarians what they want. I would rather see Phos become the new sensei and raise new gems, because, idk, even with all of the years and all of the misery, I kinda still find it hard to get my head around everyone wanting to die - the life of a Lunarian is kinda pleasant, so I just think it's better if everyone keeps on living to give the gems a chance to live too, iykwim.
@@NatalieXHunter Another thing to consider and the story should address, if phos does pray and obliviates everyone, will new gems still be born? or will the natural inclusions that are in the world's geology also be obliviated?
love seeing land of the lustrous content about the manga, there's so much to talk about but nobody seems interested in doing it as thoroughly as it demands cause it doesn't have a big fanbase, so it's really nice to see somebody do it.
When i began reading this, i thought that for some reason the seasons lasted longer, maybe the same apocalypse that finished humans made the earths rotation slower or something. Imagine my surprise when i found out this wasnt the case.
Yes please do more content about this Manga! I am excited for the next chapter - this whole story just leaves me in awe. And I agree, it's hard to describe the feeling the anime/manga gives. It's eerie yet beautiful and mystifying, but so much more.
I heard somewhere that in some East Asian cultures, 10,000 years represents an undefined massive amount of time because it’s such an astronomically large but still understandable number to humans. Not sure if it’s true or not, but very interesting
HNK is a horror existentialism manga. I went into it thinking 'Oh it'll be similar to steven universe but more adult'.... boy was I pleasantly surprised (I like steven universe, too). HNK took turns I never expected and I love it.
Yes give this series some love- I'm so happy to see more creators talk about this, it's so bittersweet to see everyone's views. When you stumble upon this series, everyone loves it, but it feels so underrated. You're very well spoken, and I'd love to hear more of you input on this amazing post apocalyptic world of the lustrous depressed gems.
Ah time, the great tormentor of things long-lived. In some situations, there is too little of it, and in others there's just too much. It makes you realize how hard it is for the gems and the lunarians to find any level of peace whether it be peace from the threat one poses to the other or finding peace and acceptance in one's self or even just an existence that can theoretically span to eternity.
Well, it’s Jan 16 2022. If they do decide to put out the next ch in February, I picked the right time to get into this series. Caught up earlier today* phenomenal series and great video!
:0 someone who posted about houseki yaayyyyyyyy And i forgot about the suffocating feeling of it for a few days… now i will wonder all day and night about what will happen next.. Uggghh the feelings hit hard..
AHHH NEW HnK CONTENT!! I always love to see a new video about it, and this was super interesting!! I love your analyzation! And I’d love to see more videos about HnK from you!
I have come to love HnK, the anime and the manga, i love the sensation a I get with every frame. Painful, longing, nostalgic...and at the same time full of hope. Thank you for making this video, it really helps to handle the hiatus. But hey, I already waited 10 years for George R.R. Martin, so in comparison... I'm good.
I'm so happy that there's such a great video analysing the use of time in houseki no kuni. It's one of my favourite series and I've never really seen anyone talk about it much. I really like the 10,000 hour idea because of it being an uncomfortably long wait for a manga to be on hiatus.
Tbh, when I really look into time, existence and reason, I want to die. It’s kinda hard to explain, but I think I get scared because I’m confronted with the truth, that I have no reason to live. I stay because I have no reason to die, but these thoughts add pressure to the fact that I really don’t have a reason to live. My wants are of no concern to me, and really, I’m just scared to die.
23:21 something interesting i'd like to mention is how i don't think phos is ever aware of that 10k year limit. from what i remember, they just woke up alone with no explanation as to why or where everyone has gone (the automatic assumption for them was the moon). so in a way, this is also an attempt to force us to relate to how phos is feeling, albeit on a much smaller scale. the whole reason WE know phos' wait time in the first place is a conversation between aechmea and the lunarian-turned-gems. correct me if im wrong, but this is how i remember it
I’m glad you’re branching out to other topics then rezero I think it’s always good for cotton creators to talk about other things than just one thing ,do you ever think you’re ever talk about berserker given what happened to the author I don’t think it’s gonna be finished but it’s good where it’s at.
YES!! At 2:14, I totally get what you mean! You describe it better than I can but something about Houseki No Kuni's art is so alluring and powerful yet delicate and sweet to me! I think Under the Scope's analysis of Houseki no Kuni's art composition, elements, and themes perfectly describe why I'm so attracted to the manga. I took an art class in highschool and never really paid attention to the elements of art (shape, line, form, texture, space, value) or principles of design (balance, emphasis, movement, unity, contrast) so when he pointed out the mangaka's masterful use of these elements in the manga, I was kinda stunned! It's so stupid I never combined the fact manga is a medium of art like any other and that kind of understanding of art analysis is key amazing-looking manga.
man Houseki no kuni is probably my favorite series. Phos embodies the lot of traits of both positive and negative character arcs, and it’s Phos’ fall from grace that feels so genuine. They become, well, human but they don’t feel better for it. All they wanted, after all, was for all this fighting to stop. there’s a lot of symbolism embodied in a lot of the panels, and ichikawa uses masterful composition to convey her meaning. it’s genuinely gorgeous, and honestly an underrated classic in the making. it has such a weight with what it’s trying to do, with phos’ struggle with change and what that means, of how sometimes change can and will make for the worse... yeah s tier stuff tbh
I will say that you have put me in place that I think I can try to rewatch Houseki no Kuni again pass episode 3, and also read the Manga once primed to get the mindset of the story. Phos really had turned me off from the show as a whole, but that was because during that time... I was dealing with some nasty stuff emotionally that a lot of actions Phos was doing just didn't settle with me. (The realization I had about Subaru from Re:Zero because I had an ex who acted just like him at the beginning of the series and it felt very realistic that I didn't want to experience again). However, the more I look at Wikis and finding people talk about the story, I think I can pass Phos's behaviors and look at it for what it is without the emotional baggage of the time when I did try to watch it. Also the point you made really has me wanting to see it for myself because even though I'm "Spoiled" I want to see how it pans out in it's entirety for myself. It's weird I know but, still Thank you for analyzing the series in a different way than "It's Seven Universe but better" argument because it's obvious they are telling very different stories from what I can see (and I've seen all of SU personally).
I liked making it, especially the hair and eyes, but I feel weird not having my oppai... Sadly rock oppai would look uncomfortable so I went with the body type the gems have in the show!
@@NatalieXHunter sometimes... The greatest sacrifices... Require the strongest of wills. Oppai will be missed, indeed it will. But may this new plunge into a flat earth be met not with awkwardness but with promise: for big titties are filled with dreams, while Itty bitties are made of hope.
lol well it's just for houseki videos, my usual avatar will be back for other content (I'm more happy with the big oppai because it's er, more like my irl self).
got into HnK recently and this is the first time ever seeing a video about the series pop up on my feed, thank you for reminding me why it's so impactful, kind of emotional atm
yes, more hnk analysis content!!! i was honestly waiting for one focusing on the importance of time in hnk's worldbuilding since it's honestly something fairly different from other series with imortal characters since here we can clearly see the effects passage of time has on the characters, so thank you for delivering this! it was a really good analysis on it and how it makes the viewers figure how time affects the characters on it! ;D
Holy crap a gem vtuber. Edit: anyway I really enjoyed the video it really gave me some questions or not about the manga but I really do enjoy it so thank you. : ]
Haha thank you! It's a different model to my usual one (I make special models for videos sometimes just because it's fun) but this one is kinda my favorite I've made so I do kind of want to use it more!
Yeah, for sure, the anime did make it feel like shit was about to get even more interesting by ending with Phos confronting Kongou-sensei, so I thought when I started reading the manga there would be answers about that whole thing straight away, but nah, there's soooo much else!
WIsh I could watch the entire video but i am behind in the manga. About the visuals and illustration, the channel Under the Scope made a great video about what you were trying to describe for the title.
I have no idea what you're gonna be talking about in this video yet, but imma like it first cause all your videos are dope! Also, I recently started reading one of your books (from the series on androids and the alien invasion) and... fuckin hell you are a good ass author! It definitely got a bigger reaction out of me than I had thought there would be going in (even after reading the summary beforehand) and I look forward to reading more of your works! If they are anywhere near as good as the one I'm currently reading, they'll most certainly get a similar rise (emotionally and otherwise) out of me! 👍🏿👏🏿👏👏🏿👏👏🏿👏👏🏿
lol thank you! I don't talk about the books too much on here because a lot of my audience are under 18 and most of my books as you've seen are NSFW, but I really appreciate the compliment!
@@NatalieXHunter you're welcome! Also, I kinda figured about the majority being under 18 which is why I tried to low-key censor my comment without giving out too many details to avoid accidentally putting something that I shouldn't - while also putting enough that you'd hopefully get what I meant
Very interesting and entertaining video! One point that really stuck with me is using going into Hiatus after learning that Phos now has to wait 10000 years. It reminded me of the time when the one piece manga talked about the 2 year time skip, and at the time, I thought the next chapter wouldnt come out for maybe 2 weeks at least, to kind of give weight to this time skip, but it ended up just continuing as usual, Which left me kind of disappointed. Not sad, just disappointed.
Since i haven't seen this anime i don't have anything to comment about the video's content (though I will still watch it because i read somewhere that watch time is also a factor which supports channel's growth) but heyyyy Crystal Natalie looks good
Awwww thank you so much for the support - it's a really good series to check out, I would actually strongly recommend it to AoT fans even though it really doesn't look like the sort of thing that would have anything in common with AoT...
Just to touch on how you talked about the setting of HnK. I want to say for me it feels almost like the uncanny valley. Everything feels familiar yet so different. Be it on the earth with opens fields that feel almost dreamlike and welcoming. To the moon where everything feels modern yet so empty and devoid of anything. But ti get to what you said about the concept of time for the gems. While yes they experience tome like humans do. I also want to point out that time maybe inconsequential to them. As they are immortal and everyone they've known has been with them for most of their lives. They hold out hope to rebuild the gems taken to the moon cause they don't understand what losing someone feels like. Time is precious to humans cause we are so fragile, one moment you can be here and the next not. But for a gem they can rebuild themselves and keep moving on. But on the counter point to this we have the lunarians who were human and experienced immortality and now want to move on. They were human and get what it means for time to become infinite. Even now with the gems on the moon who now become lunarians still don't get what lose means. Cause they were never human to start with. But take phos, a being who wanted change so badly that they got in in what must seem like the blink of an eye to gem kind. Phos suffering is what's made them stronger but in the end it still wasn't their choice made. It was a role out upon them that when phos finds out the truth I can't wait to see where the story takes that. I could sit here and write a much longer comment on my feelings and thoughts on the story and themes but I'll leave it at this for now.
I like your analysis on time for the series. It’s really interesting. Poor Phos have to suffer 10,000 years. Hopefully, they get a bit of happiness before the manga ends. Keep up the good work.
Thank you! I kind of want to hug Phos and see them have a happy ending but I feel like that might not be what Ichikawa is thinking... I hope we get to find out soon!
i love houseki no kuni! its such a well written series, definitely a huge inspiration for me. i was delighted to see another HNK analysis video, as its still so underrated, and you touched on a topic i dont think has really been covered before. really good video :) id love to see more of your thoughts on the series
Wonderfully written and explained video - you have a new subscriber! And I'm gonna need more videos on Houseki no Kuni because I need someone else to be hype and into the series with me :P
I think the manga give this feeling because of ichikawa minimalism in the cenarios and like the characters seems to act with apathy, she does this in her other works too
In an infinite amount of time every possibilty that isn't impossible is guaranteed to happen at some point. A harrowing existance to have every possible horrorr happen to you.
Tbh, I thought at first it would be pronounced like lo-fi, but since the whole point is people can buy you a 'coffee' I was like, I guess that's how I'm supposed to say it... idk, I don't even drink coffee truth be told!
An interesting note about the visuals in the manga. The panel layouts are very simple, basic rectangles that contain nearly, if not all, of the images. It's pretty common for manga to have angles in the panels or even break out of the bounds of those boxes to make a for a more dynamic page layout. The way Ichikawa lays out her panels gives the manga, in my opinion, a much more cold and sterile feeling, and also makes the goings on of the story feel more distant. I think it's a similar effect to the show's many wide shots where the characters are far away. (though wide shots communicate many other things as well.) My headcanon has always been that many days, or even months, pass by between the conversations we see. If winter weren't such a big deal I'd say it were years! One of the moments from the show that made the nature of time hit home most for me is when Phos is standing outside, motionless, for long enough to find themselves covered in butterflies. They're trapped in this horrific fugue state, haunted by memories of Antarcticite and it's possible Phos could've spent a thousand years like that if they did nothing to change. I'm just hoping the hiatus isn't gonna be realtime. This show's been living in my head rent free for 3 years now, so I'm personally very down for more HnK analysis!
The show looks beautiful. Also should watch Beastars. This story about immortal beings also reminds me of how time is treated in Vivy with its relatively big but not as big as this story time skips. I’ll look into this series at some point
I know I *should* watch Beastars, I'm sure I'll like it, it's just kinda like, whenever I go to find a series to binge through, I end up picking something else. I thought it was maybe the animal characters stopping me from being really hyped to watch it (it doesn't put me off, but it also doesn't grab me, if you know what I mean), but I bloody love Odd Taxi this season so maybe it's not that! Actually, I didn't watch HnK until quite a long time after it came out either, thinking about it!
@@NatalieXHunter houseki no kuni doesn’t seem that popular or have that big of a buzz compared to beastars and that could be due to Netflix and streaming advertising. Love Odd Taxi too. I’ll probably eventually watch KnK but I also watch nearly 5 anime series per day and binge a new series or movie on the weekends or over several weeks. I’m trying to watch Magia record before the new season comes out this summer and record of Ragnarok come out this weekend. I also recently bought LN 1-4 for Kumo Desu Ga Nani Ka which is pretty much most of the first season but I figure it is best to start from the beginning. But with an anime season ending, I try to binge a few shows that will have a new season the following season too
Yeah, I watch a lot of seasonals too, but usually binge a season or two a week while I'm working out, too. This season there are several shows I didn't get around to or didn't manage to keep up with that I'm going to add to the binge list... I haven't read Kumo Desu Ga (I like the anime though), but I'm in a bit of a manga phase at the moment, I got a bit burnt out on LNs over the winter and I also bought this awesome ereader that you can also write notes on and manga looks so good on it!
@@NatalieXHunter there are only a few manga I regularly follow which are Nagatoro and Komi san primarily. I love Kumo Desu Ga and I’m spoiled on some parts of the story that I really want to read the novels. Spider manga is undesirable since it misses the human POV and is all from Kumo’s POV. I remember reading some of the infrequent Redo manga but it’s different from the LN and anime anyways. I enjoy seasonal stuff and anime originals I can watch weekly since I can keep up with it usually compared to longer binges. And then there are so many I need to catch up on or start. Also the LN will be my first English translated Japanese LN. I do have some manga from awhile back when I took an anime elective in University years ago. I highly recommend most people to read the underrated dark Seinen MW from Osamu Tezuka that is starkly different from his other works
@@NatalieXHunter so KnK is on the back burner for me anyways too since I have seasonals and new upcoming anime to focus on. Also watching a few movies or shows like The Boys on Amazon. And then I do work 4 nights full time and play 3 games on my phone with all their events too lol

Internet sold me HnK as "The story that Steven Universe must have been". And then, love (and existencial despiar) born to me.
Sometimes times ruins everyone. Even immortals ruin themselves at one point.
All I could think at some point and then eventually all the way up to the current chapter before the hiatus is:
"Man...being Phos is suffering"
you should read "those who walk away from Omelas", it's basically a short story about a perfect city with perfect happiness and no pain BUT in exchange of it all one innocent child must live in extreme suffering locked in a tiny cell. the inhabitants can at any time chose to free the kid but they don't because they're too perfectly happy.
the parallels to the last arc are too much.
Houseki no Kuni manga is so underrated! I love your content, it's refreshing, insightful and thoughtful!
Thank you so much!
The virtual avatar is sooo fascinating :3 you look like you're from the universe Natalie!
Thank you! It was fun to make, because I had to do all the details like the inside of the mouth that I don't normally change on my models!
Oh wow how did I miss this one ! Guess youtube didn't want to notify me huh. Great video as always!
Pleasant 10000 years!
I have always seen immortals are either bored and seek mayhem or destruction or they are depressed and lonely. That does seem like a Meta gap. Also it’s hard to recommend Attack on Titan or talk about it
I really enjoyed this series a few years back, Very happy to hear you talking about it!
This video has manga spoilers so you might want to skip it if you're anime only, but if you liked the anime then the manga is definitely worth checking out!
I don’t mind the spoilers! Appreciate the warning though ^^ I’ll have to check out the Manga it seems though
I didn't know that but that's basically the conclusion I reached about the number too haha!
“We’d be getting this in February 2022”
Still waiting in march: 😔
Loved the video. I’m happy to see more HnK content in the world.
Man.... Phos has suffered so damn much. I want to see phos smile and be happy like in the first episodes and chapters of the manga
HNK is a horror existentialism manga. I went into it thinking 'Oh it'll be similar to steven universe but more adult'.... boy was I pleasantly surprised (I like steven universe, too). HNK took turns I never expected and I love it.
Yes give this series some love-
I'm so happy to see more creators talk about this, it's so bittersweet to see everyone's views. When you stumble upon this series, everyone loves it, but it feels so underrated. You're very well spoken, and I'd love to hear more of you input on this amazing post apocalyptic world of the lustrous depressed gems.
I love your profile picture
Ah time, the great tormentor of things long-lived. In some situations, there is too little of it, and in others there's just too much. It makes you realize how hard it is for the gems and the lunarians to find any level of peace whether it be peace from the threat one poses to the other or finding peace and acceptance in one's self or even just an existence that can theoretically span to eternity.
Well, it’s Jan 16 2022. If they do decide to put out the next ch in February, I picked the right time to get into this series. Caught up earlier today* phenomenal series and great video!

It’s so cool seeing more people starting to talk about this series :) It’s so amazingly written, and I could rant about it for hours.

AHHH NEW HnK CONTENT!! I always love to see a new video about it, and this was super interesting!! I love your analyzation! And I’d love to see more videos about HnK from you!
I have come to love HnK, the anime and the manga, i love the sensation a
I get with every frame. Painful, longing, nostalgic...and at the same time full of hope. Thank you for making this video, it really helps to handle the hiatus.
But hey, I already waited 10 years for George R.R. Martin, so in comparison... I'm good.
The way you covered our difficulties with handling scope and scale was done very well!
Always happy to find more houseki no kuni content!
Ice been waiting for more people to reach hnk Im so happy!!! I love hearing analysis of this masterpiece!!!
I'm so happy that there's such a great video analysing the use of time in houseki no kuni. It's one of my favourite series and I've never really seen anyone talk about it much. I really like the 10,000 hour idea because of it being an uncomfortably long wait for a manga to be on hiatus.
I’m very glad you took time to analyse Phos and the series as a whole. Makes me sane while still waiting during the manga’s indefinite hiatus 😖
🙌🏿Breathtakingly beautiful analysis/&dissection👑📽
Thank you!
@@NatalieXHunter Truly my pleasure, l adore this series, and am really ecstatic to hear ur pov on this Mineral based Masterpiece🤝🏿

something interesting i'd like to mention is how i don't think phos is ever aware of that 10k year limit. from what i remember, they just woke up alone with no explanation as to why or where everyone has gone (the automatic assumption for them was the moon). so in a way, this is also an attempt to force us to relate to how phos is feeling, albeit on a much smaller scale. the whole reason WE know phos' wait time in the first place is a conversation between aechmea and the lunarian-turned-gems. correct me if im wrong, but this is how i remember it
I have been binge watching your content I am invested this being one of my favorite of your videos
Glad you like them!
I’m glad you’re branching out to other topics then rezero I think it’s always good for cotton creators to talk about other things than just one thing ,do you ever think you’re ever talk about berserker given what happened to the author I don’t think it’s gonna be finished but it’s good where it’s at.
I love Berserk and I would like to talk about it but I feel like I want to wait until Miura's death is less recent to do that.
Thank you for Video 💙
You're welcome 😊
Definitely agree!
PLEASE make more videos on hnk!! The hiatus has me desperate for more content >.
Cant watch yet due to spoilers...just here to drop my like.
Dig the gem form by the way, somehow it fits you alot better than I'd thought
Please do a Video to the New chapters!!!
got into HnK recently and this is the first time ever seeing a video about the series pop up on my feed, thank you for reminding me why it's so impactful, kind of emotional atm
Good video!
Thanks!
yes, more hnk analysis content!!!
i was honestly waiting for one focusing on the importance of time in hnk's worldbuilding since it's honestly something fairly different from other series with imortal characters since here we can clearly see the effects passage of time has on the characters, so thank you for delivering this! it was a really good analysis on it and how it makes the viewers figure how time affects the characters on it! ;D
New hnk content?? This is a big deal omg, thank you for this!
Yes, I want more Houseki no Kuni content
Love this focus on time. With immortals and the unique passage of time this series has such an amazing feel that you articulated just as amazingly
Woah, the gem form looks nice!
Been awhile since I caught up with Houseki no Kuni manga. I don't know if I caught up, but I doubt this video will spoil me too much.
I really hope they make a season two of hnk, shit really hits the fan after where the anime leaves off
Yeah, for sure, the anime did make it feel like shit was about to get even more interesting by ending with Phos confronting Kongou-sensei, so I thought when I started reading the manga there would be answers about that whole thing straight away, but nah, there's soooo much else!
Im glad the community is still waiting for 10,00 years
SAME SKEKSOSKSK I JUST WATCHED THEIR ANIME ON TUESDAY AND I'M STILL WAITING FOR S2
I hate getting land of the lustrous recommended to me because I get so upset just thinking about phos
Loved this!
Very interesting and entertaining video!
One point that really stuck with me is using going into Hiatus after learning that Phos now has to wait 10000 years.
It reminded me of the time when the one piece manga talked about the 2 year time skip, and at the time,
I thought the next chapter wouldnt come out for maybe 2 weeks at least, to kind of give weight to this time skip, but it ended up just continuing as usual,
Which left me kind of disappointed. Not sad, just disappointed.
yes more Houseki no Kuni
I'm so glad people are starting to give HnK a read. It's getting the hype it deserves.

Awesome, thank you!
@@NatalieXHunter Yeah me too

Well you’re right about June, just not that year
Hmm, there's still hope for a S2
Yeah, maybe they'll do it when the manga has finished. I really hope so.
just remember that, all the time Phos is sealed, he is aware of it.
Wonderfully written and explained video - you have a new subscriber! And I'm gonna need more videos on Houseki no Kuni because I need someone else to be hype and into the series with me :P
Crying at all the “see you 10,000 years later” comments for the next chapter 😭
I think the manga give this feeling because of ichikawa minimalism in the cenarios and like the characters seems to act with apathy, she does this in her other works too
I didn't finish the video yet hahah
In an infinite amount of time every possibilty that isn't impossible is guaranteed to happen at some point. A harrowing existance to have every possible horrorr happen to you.
i've really been looking forward to this lol vid
I was so confused when you said Ko-Fi at the beginning, I thought it was pronounce Co like coco and Fi like fine lmao the new form looks great though
Not saying you pronounced it wrong, I’ve just never heard anyone say it
Tbh, I thought at first it would be pronounced like lo-fi, but since the whole point is people can buy you a 'coffee' I was like, I guess that's how I'm supposed to say it... idk, I don't even drink coffee truth be told!
(though wide shots communicate many other things as well.)
My headcanon has always been that many days, or even months, pass by between the conversations we see.
Finally someone talking about Houseki no Kuni.
Welp, time to watch Houseki no Kuni)
Yes houseki no kuni
