My wife and I are considering transiitioning from Bicycle touring (15,000 miles) to canoeing or kayaking. We are 69 and 73. She weighs 120#, I weigh 200# We are reasonably fit and have years of sailing experience. Paddling? Not so much. We have always been "go big or go home" folks. She is an AT through hiker, so we would go reasonably light-packs in the 25#-30# range. So 150# in her boat, 230# in my boat. We want to paddle the Northern Forest Canoe Trail next year. What boats would you suggest? Thank you. Glen
I would take a look at the Cruiser series of pack boats. You'll want either similar or matching length boats for paddling together, so I would look at the Cruiser 14.8 and perhaps a 15.8 for you
I'm 260 pounds. Looking for a small light boat to carry through thick woods to hidden ponds. Any recommendations? I use a 12.7foot sit ontop kayak at the moment.

I'm not looking for your most expensive Canoe I am looking for one just to retrieve my RC boats I run RC boats and I like to go out and get them with a boat the guy who I used to do it with passed away and his wife sold the boat that we used to use so now I have to get 1 for myself I prefer a Canoe it's easier to retrieve A RC boat with please comment back on what you think would be a good boat for me I'm I am 511 and I weigh 290 pounds please comment back in let me know thank you so very much can't wait to hear back from you and I live in Connecticut thank you
hi. it's me, SixtyOne. my pilot likes to swing me up on his shoulder for those quick portages on day trips. gunwale on the shoulder, one hand on my front thwart, one hand carrying paddles. for cushion, we tried a small camp inflatable pillow for the shoulder, a little bit of foam, a rolled up extra layer... this year we're going to try something a little more purpose made. almost like the blocks used when i get put on top of the car. the top will have a slot for the gunwale and the bottom will be curved to match a shoulder. i think it'll work a charm. portaging 100 meters or so without gear doesn't need putting on the yoke. thanks for the informative videos.
The Keewaydin 15 or Prospector 14 Pack can definitely support that weight with room to spare. The Prospector is the more stable of the two, the Keewaydin the more efficient, but both would work.
It would be nice if you had covered rough pricing of the models you mentioned. The website is complex, and quite vague. If I’m going to be in the market for a $3k canoe, I’d expect that point to be generalized here. This was a turn off for me.
