I was a land surveyor and we did a bunch of airport work... once at Knoxville, which is also a National Guard base, while setup behind the instrument with a steep hill/small mountain behind me.... All of a sudden, a line of 15 Blackhawks came over that hill somewhat surprising me... You could feel each thump of all those blades throughout your body...!!! It was a very impressive experience...! They were only about 200 feet overhead... Another time in Charlotte County Florida, the sheriff had a Vietnam era Huey, it took of and came over me at only 20-50 feet as he entered the takeoff pattern... that too was a very impressive display of pure power...!!! Thanks for sharing... Keep up y'alls awesomeness...!!!
Brother, i doubt you see this comment but I just wanted to say this if you do, I drove by myself from Minnesota in my 2001 Silverado 1500 rust bucket with 270k miles on it and a cracked rear axle housing spraying diff fluid everywhere to visit the FF for the first time and see the Freedom 500 and all I can say is Every Mile & Penny was worth it! I was blown away by how Surreal that place feels! You get NO understanding over video just how cool that place is Especially when it is packed with the coolest and nicest people! My sister, brother-in-law and I had a Blast and I will be returning Next year for your 30th and you best believe im bringing a camper and staying the whole weekend! Out of all the insanely skilled driving and stuff on the Cleet channels, I can't help but be in awe at just how good of a heli-pilot Heavy D is. My girl spent a month in a hospital with a view of the helipad and it wasn't rare to see the emergency heli come in for a quick landing and *none* of the landings were nearly as smooth or quick as his. He's just a great pilot.
