I'm not usually a big fan of voice acting, or care about having it too much (I found it rather lackluster in Skyrim), but this video pretty much changed me to Team Voice Acting for Zelda. And Link's minimal talking moments were tasteful and endearing.
Rambling thoughts - I suppose I didn't mind the voice acting in Metroid Prime 3, though it didn't really do anything for me. And...a lot of people, including myself, thought the voice acting and overall script of other M was bad. Come to think of it, with the old Zelda cartoon and the old Mario movies, I have yet to enjoy a fully fleshed out voice for a Nintendo main character. I enjoy the voices in the Tales games. I love the games even before they got voice acting, but games like Tales of Symphonia would probably lose something without it. The main characters are well voiced, and the voice actors are skilled enough to provide us a way to get to know these characters through their voices. And I suppose when the voices become an endearing part of their character is when I enjoy them. As I said, I didn't really care about voices in Skyrim (or most games). It doesn't really matter to me, so I'll leave that issue to people who care. If having voices for everyday background people pleases you, I'll leave that to you. Just don't take my text box away. I prefer being able to read it and pace the speaking as I see fit (and also having the text box usually makes the words clearer to read). But yeah, the Tales series. I could handle more of that.

That was very good! It might sound silly, but hearing Link talk give me goosebumps. My only complain is that Groose sounded a little too dumb, but besides that all the voices were perfect!

This is one instance in which ‘Zelink’ is legitimately canon. Their theme is called “Romance.” So at least the composers had a very definite concept of the characters’ relationship.
I know why they don't have Link speak, since YOU are supposed to be him, but they should do something along the lines of what they do with Mario. Mario doesn't really speak in his games for the same reason, but he has a voice at least that's used sparingly. It just adds a bit to character. And Zelda games SHOULD have spoken words by now.

He can do better and he knows it. I understand he wants to put the player in Link's position, but here's why I think it doesn't work. I know Zelda came first, but the Pokemon games (the main ones anyway) do a better job of what Miyamoto tries to do with Link. Don't get me wrong, the series is still great, but in Pokemon, since you play as either a male or female trainer that you can give a name, and get whatever pokemon you like, and even beat the story any way you choose. Point being Pokemon games don't have much story, so the character you play as can be more relatable to you. The reason this doesn't work with Zelda games is because in terms of story, it's much more linear, Link has both emotions and personality of his own, while Pokemon Trainer (male or female, depending on gender) has either no personality or emotions. In the NES Zelda games, it makes sense, but Link and all of his other incarnations have emotions and personality since Link to The Past.
Ultra V-Fox Productions For everyone like you, there are just as many who would complain that the voice of Link is not at all what they would want it to be and complain. He pleases you, he ticks off the other, so I say just let him do what he likes.
I guess it makes no difference anyway, because let's be honest, since when has Nintendo in general ever been fair to its audience? I mean, yeah, they're games are great for the most part, but even that wouldn't mean anything.
The Shin Megami Tensei games still do an excellent job with Silent Protagonists. Then again... the context is different. I dunno, Miyamoto's decision of making Link a Heroic Mime works fine for me. I prefer being myself, the player, being in the game, rather than guiding a character with a set personality to do what he/she has to do.
If that's what you think works, then that's all fine and good. It just bugs me personally, because I think Pokemon does that better. Well, any RPG anyway.

But I would LOVE to see the whole Zelda Skyward sword! In passages, where you can't see Links lips moving, maybe you can build some more text for him =D His voice and all the others really suit PERFECT!

Ive watched this a couple of times. This is hands down one of the best if not the best fandub ever. The clarity of the recording and the quality of acting is superb! Every voice actor showcased nailed the parts down! LINKS voice is perfect if he ever had a voice. Cant wait to see what future Zelda dubs are being produced. Keep it up!

Well people are stupid to use that to argue against Link having voice acting. Nintendo was not involved with the CGI and the anime, it's the idiots behind those things who messed it up but Nintendo had nothing to do with it. And if non-professional fandub actors like Anath Jackson III can do such a good job at voicing Ghirahim and other characters, then Nintendo can find good voice actors to voice those characters. No more excuses. Link should have a voice too.
