I'm retired now but I spent about 7 years flying the 75 & 76 for Delta. Boeing really got it right with the 75! Powerful yet economical, perfect control harmony and a quiet cockpit. I wish Boeing kept the 75 line going instead of endless steroid shots for the 73. I flew the 73 too, but the early -200 series. It was fun and easy to fly but at some point it's time for a "clean sheet" design. The 72 was also a great jet to fly but by modern standards under-powered even though it was faster once it got up a head of steam. Glad to see the Delta crowd is working hard and turning out superior service.
You said it best. The 757 is great. Should have kept it going but given it new engines or even new wings for better efficiency. Shortly after production ended it became the go-to economical transatlantic cruiser.
@@gerardmoran9560 I like that the 757s, even though a narrow-body aircraft, has some of the facilities of long-haul wide-body aircrafts such as a viewing entertainment screen for each economy seat, something that the smaller aircrafts such as the Embraer 170 & 175, and CRJ 700 & 900ER planes don't have
That's cool that you fly the 757s and also got to fly the 727s back in their day and get to compare the two. I'm not a pilot but I've definitely flown on both aircrafts over the years and noticed the differences between them
Always fun when someone says they’re afraid to fly, and I think man how could anyone be afraid of this, Just the sounds alone and I can feel the acceleration.

@@kquttersanford3635 I've been flying on a plane when I was a kid going to Puerto Rico with my mom I wasn't afraid I was actually excited that was years ago
I love how quiet the engines are during the roll and after the aircraft is airborne. There’s nothing like feeling that force on takeoff how your body is pushed against the seat or the shoulder straps if your in the jump seat. I always feel kind of a rush on takeoff.
👍. Love that GREAT ENGINE SOUND as the plane roars during Takeoff in motion👏🏻🤝. Thanks for sponsoring this video and keep those engine sounds posted!! Thank god😀
757 are probably my favourite narrow body aircrafts even if I've never had the chance to fly on one, I've flown on the great MD82s, on nextgen 737-800, a 717 just one time, on an ERJ 190 a couple of times and on the dull 320 and 319 for now.
@@RefrigeratedWaffles2 No it doesn't. The engines fan is geared specifically so that it doesn't break the sound barrier. If it did it would be much less efficient to operate and could destroy the engine.
@@christopherjamesfleming2514 Capt_CJ is correct. The buzzing sound IS caused by shockwaves from the fan blade tips reaching supersonic speeds. While it is true that this brings down efficiency due to drag, there is no worry about it destroying the engine. Just listen to almost any modern turbofan and you'll notice this buzzing sound at high speeds. The engine inlets are specifically designed so that the air entering the fan is subsonic, so maybe that's what you're getting at? Also, these engines are Pratt & Whitney PW2000s, which are not geared. The newer Pratt & Whitney PW1000G series ARE geared (Airbus A220, A320neo, etc).
there is no airbus that possesses 1/10 the class of the 757. Pilots love them, passengers enjoy them, accountants celebrate them, and mechanics have their own opinions. These have been yanked from service, to be replaced with A321 mindless robotic airliners. Not happy about that.....

The 757 is the hot rod of the airlines.

The Jet engine is a brilliant invention!! Amazing Minds at work
That takeoff would of felt lovely OMG 😍😍😍😍 beautiful rotation.
I love plane engines that Sound futuristic
ATL sure is a busy airport with a long line of aircraft waiting for takeoff on a daily basis
That's a long line of planes waiting to take off on the same runway
I think I was on this flight.......I always seem to get a noisy engine the whole way home ......and I paid for that 🤷
ATL is the busiest airport in the world
I know right. It’s crazy! But what about London Heathrow airport?
Facts I’m flying to Orlando soon
Awesome video!! I usually don’t watch pushbacks unless it’s a GE90 startup, but for some reason this pushback caught my attention. 😂
The pilots of the 717 @10:30 didn’t waste a second getting lined up on the runway. As soon as the 757 throttled up they were moving!
True Jaja
If you want to see the plane take off skip to 10:22
Slick, single engine taxi until s/he jogged over to M. Smart way to save fuel.
I've never seen that in person. I know there are different policies on it, but if you can- why not? Seems like a good fuel saver once you're moving
This is one wonderful video.
A wonderful video indeed

the Pratt & Whitney Sound
Awesome video, but I think this is the 75D, not the 75H. The 75H has older seats and IFE systems, this looks like it has newer ones.
Most of the older ones have been retrofitted. It could be either or.
All Delta’s 757 have the PW2000 engines
The background noise sounds like music for some reason. It’s just part of the engine lol
I use this for sleeping or relaxing

What a long takeoff roll
I thought it was a longer wait on the runway lined up to leave than the roll during takeoff
yep
Why beat on the plane...
Dave Ackerson can get off a lot shorter than this. Had long runway so really didn’t need to push it.

Why the captain turn on the second engine after ?

It appears pilot used derated thrust takeoff power, didn’t notice any power back after a couple minutes in the air.
Also very long takeoff roll. Probably got the 12,000+ foot runway, which would be the longest at ATL. Appears they used at least 8,000 feet.
