Thanks to your video, I will no longer be making wigs by hand. The sewing machine made my work much much easier and quicker. I mean we flopped the first 2 times, but third time really was the charm. Thank you so much 👏🏾
Quick tip for the sewing mpachine for first time users. The pedal on the floor controls the speed of the needle, so if you're light footed. :) it will go slower and you'll have better control. Hope this helps
Thank you for this tutorial. I have had a wig sitting in a closet with a frontal sewn in for a year. 😂 I’ll be getting out the machine to finish it, dye it, and hopefully wear it this summer.
This my first time watching TH-cam can’t wait to bye the sewing machine. So I can watch it and learn. Save me money. Thank god I come across you on TH-cam channel u are a god gifts keep it up sis how much u charge.

Thank you for showing your mistakes, that's what kept me from trying. But this quarantine really has me trying to save money wherever I can. Quick question though, if you want to reuse the hair is it possible to do?
Thanks for watching! The hair can be reused, but each piece of thread will need to be cut which would be very time consuming and not worth it, IMO. Also, by hand stitching the frontal, it’ll allow you to change the frontal out easier.
Hello, you did so effortlessly!! I have the exact same machine.. so my question is i have concept of doubling the wefts & sewing on to the cap but my cap constantly is getting bunched in the middle.. am i not pulling the cap enough
Thank you for watching! I would say that is most likely what’s happening. Gotta be sure to hold it taught enough for the weft to be sewn as flat as possible but not so tight it gathers more cap - hope that makes sense.
Hi, as mentioned in the video I had no idea how to sew with a machine (& still don’t) so I left the preset #s my sister put on there. My tension is set a 4 if that helps.
If you’re referring to keeping the bundles “taut” yes, it’s a small amount of tension you should have but don’t try to overstretch the wig cap cause it’ll shrink it. And I just use regular sewing machine thread from Walmart.
@@otesha09 okay thank you! & for the actual sewing machine being used can I use polyester thread ? And im going to start making custom wigs do u recommend I get a 21,22 & 23 wig head ?
Yes, I use regular polyester thread too and I’m not sure what size I’d recommend because it depends on if your head is big or small or if you’ll be making them for other people. I’d say measure your head first (average size is around 22” and go from there)
@@otesha09 actually... you're using the sleeve arm....the flat table is the part that attaches to the machine. People think it just for extra sewing space if they don't sew much. The sleeve arm literally is the size of a sleeve. If making a large project...it becomes annoying without the extra room.
No, I use the needle that comes with the machine. When my needle was breaking it was because I had too much bunched under the needle (whether it be too much weft or fabric from the cap) hope that helps
What are your machine settings? I have the width set at 5 to ensure the stitches are far apart and you just have to keep the weft/wig cap moving through the pressor foot to keep it from getting stuck. I’d also pay attention to the wig cap you’re using. It could very well be getting stuck to the surface of your machine
@@otesha09 I've just finished making one after watching ur tutorial however this is the 2nd wig I've ever made and the first one I did by hand but.... It came out way too big! I’ve been riding around with my sewing machine in my trunk bc I’m nervous about getting started but since we have the same starter machine, you’ve given me hope. Question? What kind of needle do you use to make your wigs (sewing machine) a denim needle?
Hello, I believe you can do it! Just have to get started, the needles that came with machine when I bought it is what I used. After breaking all of them lol I purchased some off of Amazon. I will post the link to them in the next comment and they’ve worked with no problem!
I just linked my bleaching items in the description box. In the video I use salon care developer but linked will be another developer I use frequently. Shampoo is shimmer lights or any other purple based product used for toning.
I hope this isn’t a stupid question but.. what type of thread are you using? I’m using the typical beauty supply thread and my sewing machine keeps jamming
Hi ! Thanks for subbing. The sewing machine is linked in the description box and it was less than $100 when I purchased it but not sure how much it costs now. And my best advice is to just start practicing because it’s not a lot that I could tell you other than to just whip out your machine and start using it
For the most part I can. I occasionally need to add a few in by hand stitching them in and it’s also why it’s important to double your wefts. You may also triple and quadruple your wefts to maximize how many bundles you can fit into your unit.
I think you need some knowledge about making a wig by hand stitching (especially for sewing on the frontal) but I don’t see why this can’t be beginner friendly. I personally don’t feel like it’s perfect but I’ll keep practicing until it is!
I use $1 thread from Walmart in black. I’ve tried using Nylon hair thread but it rips too often with my machine. From L to R my knobs are set at 4, 5, 2. And my pattern is 3/16 Hope this helps
hi i recently bought a sewing but when I start sewing the double wefts to my wig cap, it always lumpy, and i don't even stretch the cap, what the best solution to this?
It sounds like you need to hold your cap and weft more taut when allowing it to run through the machine. Once you start to sew the weft/cap should start to flow kinda seamlessly. Are you getting a lot of jams?
