Hiya Gary.. you mentioned the faces, and the chap second right looks like Galland and the face of the guy in the centre with the toolbox looks like a young Goering albeit wrong war. I'm surprised there were any left to capture in 1942.. I thought Germany did the SU a favour and wiped out their airforce, forcing them to replace obsolete aircraft with modern ones like the Sturmovich. I wonder how ICM keep older moulds looking so good? Might be something to ask Valeriia.. I've seen much younger mouldings from other companies not look as good!
The I-153 was designed to address the I-16s lack of manoeuvrability as was found out in Spain against the CR.42, thus Polikarpov was asked to come up with a biplane fighter (well, I suppose technically a sesquiplane). Two of the designers on the team were Mikoyan and Guryevich who of course became famous for agile fighters of their own!
@@garys_stuff Cool: IIRC Sidney Camm also worked with/for Jack Sopwith hence the Hurricane harking back to WWI, plus it looks a bit like a Camel with the hump behind the cockpit.
Nice kit I wonder will they release the one with the turbojet underneath
