I don’t know why Konami thought this was a good idea. Every deck people complained about in the other festivals is basically THE META for this festival
the worst part is how pretty much every deck that doesn't use an extra makes up for what would be a cheaper gem cost due to not having to spend 200UR on an extra by making half the main deck be UR/SR.
Except it's even better because now we also have Floowandereeze. Unless you got the mad UR for TCBOO you're gonna have a bad time. At least Konami limited Skill Drain and Gozen for us.

They really looked at people playing draco in the other events and said fuck it.
This is the only event where I had a monarch mirror match, it was super fun, and turns out neither of us could really flood gate each other which was really funny considering monarch lives on floodgates

I got 2 or 3 floo mirror.
I won all of then, which wete mostly bevause the opponent bricked and surrendered once they saw me combo.

I went up against a Ben kei otk with my gren maju deck. Sadly for my opponent I had 2 kaijus to in hand to get rid of his board

I actually am having fun with the event, with skull servants and zombie world. Turns out all you need to completely break a bird players is a zombie world and they all just die so I ended up with a 38 wins and 7 loses
I faced a skull servant deck, i was lucky that they didnt get to use zombo wouldo.
Actually i thought i was facing benkei otk because he gave up when i summoned the birb that negates by bouncing itself.

I actually have been enjoying the event but also for the events where there is no downside to losing I tend to just try and throw semi-consistent wild strategies and enjoy the times they work. No ED slows the game down just enough where my Ice Barriers and Legendary Fishermen actually have a shot.

This is the only event that took me 38 turns to win a match, because my opponent tried decking me out while I played Kaijus w/ a few Mekk-Knights and hoped for a topdeck

If Farfa hasn’t used that Card Destruction in the last game, he’d be in trouble because of Garuda (and if the person had toggle on to summon Endymion immediately after he negated with the first).

I’ve been enjoying this event hanging out in silver. Maybe your enjoyment depends if you are a casual player in the lower ranks or a competitive player in the higher ranks. It’s seems to me the lower ranks have a good variety of decks but the higher you get the more annoying decks since they are the best in this format.
Seems logic since higher rank has more strategies than us in silver
I'm in silver and most of my matches have been against Floo. So no, clearly not.
I'm D1 I can confirm, this festival makes me toxic person. Once I scream at my screen "do you know why you lose? BECAUSE I'M BETTER THAN YOU!" Loled so hard.
Rank isn't equal to casual level tbh, I climb to Diamond 1 with ABC, and rank give you gems, if you want more, you need to climb, basically
And to be more honest, the worst part isn't how the meta deck is strong, it's about you literally can't play matching up with Floo or True Drago, it's not like you try to outplay your opponent, you literally get tied up and die, any other festival event is better than this
I've been to plat before Diamond was released, I returned after a long break to find myself in bronze 3.
It is 90% Floo down there too.
No match for a turn 1 witchcrafters... And there's enough recursion in WC to outlast them going turn 2 anyway. Just gotta play around the restrictions.

In my opinion, IF the new birds didn't exist in this event, it would be good, well atleast not better than the NR festival that ignored the whole meta

I've tried that in the past, to constantly throw games and try to downgrade from plat to gold. Wasn't able to.
That's why I usually now just stay gold, get downgraded to silver, go up to gold 1 and then go down to gold 5 to make events easier and less filled with try hards that play meta every single game
The funniest thing I’ve found in this event is when I gutted my speedroid extra deck to farm special summons and won against a bricked flunder deck through sheer beatdown

Ben Kai turbo gives you a hidden title for equipping cards (secret mission). Probably why people are on it.
We are on it because every game is over fast and it can steal wins. Especially in the lower ranks but not only.
People are on it cause it's A) fast B) cheap.

Going with Witchcrafter and I am doing decent. Most were Floowandereeze or Mataza/Ben Kei OTK
I've been having fun with Zombies, just setup ZW and you've won half your matches. Swallow Slash for three also pretty good against the monkey decks. The only issue is lightning storm so I recommend having Banshee in grave and wait for your opponent to commit to the board first.
Lord of Heavenly Prison to protect the Swallow Slash + search a second one after using it.
At least that's what I'm doing.
I literally quit the event after day 1. Did the math, realized I was only going to be missing out on 1850 gems, and promptly realized the headache isn't worth 2 week worth of gems.
Another 800 or so in mission gems.
Don't forget week two missions... Personally that's what I'm waiting for (and for the tryhardings to farm and leave the event)
@@Jyxero I was already factoring the missions that get added later on. Still just isn’t worth it for me.
time lords plus ground collapse plus ojama duo and trio plus kaiser colosseum and savage colosseum are in my deck for this festival. A fun time for me. I also run a lava golem and a kaiju. Seems like it has a nice flow depending on if I get the right hand going first or going second and with no fear of link monsters, the ojama tokens actually are harder to deal with and I love it
Actually ran into somebody running Ojama Trio and Kaiju's... Man suddenly only have 2 spots to place monsters is rough.
Fortunately my deck could get around the restrictions even if it took... FOREVER.
Forced myself to stay in gold this season which I'm glad because the event is fun and has variety
Floo mirror is a nightmare.
As a masochist who likes the floo mirror, this event has been super fun, but I understand it's not for everyone.
Funny thing is, in other events or in ranked when your opponent has no extra deck, you immediately know that it's not gonna be a fun duel.
So of course, an entire event around this concept has to be a great idea.
I've been playing my witchcrafter deck in the festival. And i'm having a blast... got like 17 wins in a row and going.
I bricked 5 games in a row with flunder, no prosperity hits hard, I'm contemplating if it's really the deck to play here lol
As a flunder player, especially irl. I keep telling people the deck is mid, sure it's good when it works and when your opponent has no response. But it bricks hard and can be stopped. In other words flunder is not impossible, invincible, etc.
Yeah flunder is fucked if you imperm the Robina and they don't already have the Map.
I don't think master duel has journey prep yet so it's not even full power
Pretty much, chunk of people saying flunder is more annoying than eldlitch, i'm like how? Flunder way easier to stop
@@willsoe yeah advent isn't in masterduel yet, also flunder uses shifter. But the only problem with shifter is that it's win more, you have to open up with it/draw it when you have nothing in the graveyard. But more or less the card becomes dead as well.
Are my opponents just luck gods then? I fought like 4 flunders in a row yesterday, lost the coin toss every single time and all 4 of them opened map, I could feel the soul draining out of my body.
I've been using nothing but the Machina loaner and it's been funny af when I handtrap for the 1200 and recycle it
Why dont they finally do some retro format festivals that would be so much more fun than these take a random thing out of the game festivals...
Probably because what’s the cut off for what’s consider retro? Saying just “DM” makes the card pool super small and stuff like Xyz are over a decade old. Most people don’t have retro format decks because theyre unplayable on the latter
@@aStupidGecko retro formats just means different old formats like edison or goats and a lot of the cards from that time are either low rarity or you get them automatically through legacy packs
It's not possible because the game doesn't have any of its cards dated to real sets and they won't curate a banlist for anything except 'ban all of this type of card'
@@Cellyestial I mean Konami could do it if they put the work in. They’d essentially have to make a whole new game mode with separate rulings, but it’s technically possible.
They should implement retro as a side ladder changing every few months , not as a festival thing. No one is gonna craft terrible SR and UR cards from legacy packs just for a specific festival

0:40 that's an insult to Gage progression decks, that's a Cimo after 2 wins progression deck if I ever saw one.
When someone has to face Floor 24/7 they learn that Ben is the best out to that
Malevolent Catastrophe, if only. Though you'd have to run it in decks where you don't really rely on your backrow or you're okay with having some of your backrow cards being destroyed.

I saw someone use Adventure + Amano-Iwato and thought it was funny, so I memed and slapped it onto a Ben Kei OTK shell without expecting it to be good. Somehow, I just came off of an exact mirror match down to a single different tech choice. Shared single braincell, I guess.
Kozmo did me well this festival, they had nothing to deal with dark destroyer.

I been having a blast playing Dark Magician in this event. It's been decent for me this time around.
Storming Mirror force ruins the mazan combo because it gets kicked back to the hand and consequently sends all the equip cards to the graveyard.
So many people complaining but this event was nowhere even close to how bad syncro was. Also, I already got all the rewards and I never saw a single true draco and barely saw a couple of floo and lit all of them bricked. There were by far many based decks. the event was decent
i honestly had fun in the synchro festival with my mathmech sigma otk deck, helped that people just dotn have outs to sigma while i had a bunch of them
What rank are you in on main ladder? They match you against people from your rank. I'm currently in upper Plat, and here I'm finding about 50% Floo 30% Eldlich 10% Equip OTK 10% everything else
The only decks i see is Floo, Draco and Ben Kei OTK.
@@DoctorFalchion that seems like my odds of opponents aswell but I actually saw a antifloo Draco player that had a cards that negates banishing. Also the synchro festival was fun for me.

I came into the festival early when it came out and I used a sacred beast deck, I was lucky enough to not run into any otk decks.
Tbh I still prefer this over having to deal with broken synchro/fusion cards…
I expected a ton of monarchs and true dracos yet didn’t get any of them, maybe I just got lucky but this event was super fun for me
Yeah i actually like this festival. I personally play odd-eyes because that's my main deck and it works really well without an extra deck

Personally I'm running a variation of my RLM Exodia Deck using 1 Chicken Game, Pseudo Space and Terraforming. Ez Medals.

I went against a magical cylinder Dino(?) deck that just put a large monster that can’t be destroyed by battle and just set two spells to increase his stats and lower mine. It took…23 TURNS before I just gave up with only 2 cards in deck. Oh yeah I was using the floo loaner deck.
All you gotta do is play subterrors with kaiser colosseum. It shits on birds

Thr event is great in gold. Full of compitent players who arent try harding. Ive been playing against dragon goodstuff, toons, burn, etc.
I have 0 points in the special summon quest this event, because the best decks for this don’t do that.

I grinded this event to get the Oracle Mahad artwork with Poker Knights, was painful obviously, but I'm done with it.
Gonna be honest, love this festival. Not because the decks are less toxic, but because most of the toxic decks take less than thirty minutes to complete a turn.

Actually might be the most fun I've had in any of the events, although tbh limit 1 might be higher.
People complaining about the event because they're either playing something boring or think they need to spend UR points when Yosenju and Shinobird are literally right there being cheap as hell
absolutely, its a fun event cuz the toxic part of those decks, the floodgates, mostly straight up dont work against some most of the matchups
