Seems like I missed some critical details of the new update, thank you to everyone who filled me in! -You can hold ALT while placing a bogey to get a ton of new variants, including a invisible version -If you use snow instead of slabs under a decorative phantom rail, you get a smoother slope -When controlling a conductor, you can interact with buttons and levers -When controlling a conductor, you can teleport thorough vents at a range of 64 blocks -Conductors do need to be loaded the session you are playing in to control them, they do not work if never loaded -If you name a hat 'sus' you turn into a conductor, and can use vents -Vent blocks work as copycat blocks and can be given any texture -The brass and andesite switch do NOT work the same, the brass switch can be controlled from the drivers seat of a train by holding space, and will be automatically switched by a train on a schedule. The andesite switch can only be controlled by interacting with it via Redstone of thrown objects
Another one: vent blocks look like a target block with wool of all colors when you looks at them while.controlling a conductor thru a remote lens. They can also go through vents
1:30 - A whole plethora of 40K Orky vehicles has just now been added to the list of "entrants"; in my 'Apocalypse in a Moment' World. 😃😃I only came across this mod a couple of days ago and so I still don't even know half the blocks or possibilities yet. I've done some obvious and simple things, crushing wheels as tank treads giving the illusion of movement, mechanical belts for a treaded automata and thanks to a cart assembler and an oval track, my Greater Daemon of Nurgle can actually stir his massive cauldron; and that's barely scratching the surface of what's possible. I'm watching to learn more about it and get inspired and a minute and a half in I already want to leave to Create! >XD TY
A lot of people have mentioned the vent blocks and conductors, but I also want to mention that if you hold alt with a train casing, you can get quite a few more bogey types (including invisible bogeys)
One clarification: conductors *DO* have to be loaded for you to 'spy' through them, the conductor @polartt used was probably in spawn chunks (and therefore always loaded) Also, remote-controlled conductors can interact with certain blocks including: Trapdoors Buttons Levers
The brass switch actually will auto switch the tracks when there’s a SCHEDULED train on the line. So it’s partially more automated. The andesite is fully manual. Fun thing with track switches is that you drift with trains on them. For example get the front bogey past a track switch. Then switch the tracks and keep driving. Resulting in the train on multiple rails.
Things Polar didn't mention: - When controlling a Conductor you can press buttons and levers, and can control trains - If you name a Conductor's Hat 'sus' in an anvil, you become a conductor when wearing it, and your nametag disappears. - When you're wearing the 'sus' hat, you can right-click on vents to teleport to the other end of the vent, with a max vent range of 64 blocks. - If you hold ALT when placing a train bogey you can get several new bogey types, including an invisible bogey - Vent blocks are copy-cat blocks and can be right-clicked with any full block to give it that texture
I'm imagining a vent system throughout a base that requires you to use a Remote Lense to travel through vents and open the way forward with pressure plates
Gosh it's so cool to see the stuff that you modeled be featured in a video like this (Hi, I'm the dev that did the models for the switches and the art for the remote lens)
Quick heads up: the andesite and brass switches do NOT actually work the same way. The andesite one can only be controlled via projectiles or redstone, whereas you can throw a brass one from the driver's seat of an oncoming train (as long as it's not locked by redstone). Just hold space while approaching the switch.
The long smokestack is based off of diesel locomotive exhaust pipe (It’s called a smokestack still) and would be found on the center of an North American modern locomotive. Also, the Andesite Switch or IRL a Target Switch Stand is supposed to be set up with the target displaying its face when you are diverging and the face should be barely visible when going straight. Sorry for my technical know how!
Things he didnt mention: name a conductors cap "sus" then weat to become a conductor. Conductors and people who are wearing sus cap's can vent vents dont let smoke trough they are to vent
Remote controlled conductors can use redstone levers and buttons. A fun way to operate a "telepresence" when someone visits your base while you are away.
I appreciate that your commentary/dialog isn't insanely exaggerated. It's just you talking like a normal person instead of "GUYS THIS IS ABSOLUTELY. INSANE. I'M LOSING MY MIND GUYS."
btw if you give a little guy a redstone link you can control him through redstone signals, he has many implimentations e.g. give him a toolbox for portable toolbox and i think a wrench idk but its pretty cool
The conductor also fits in 1 block gaps and seems like mobs don't attack it either. Ive been playing a survival world with a bunch of Create mod addons, including Steam N Rails and I use it to scout out areas, like bastions in the nether and for caves. Also you can disguise the vent block, like the copycat step and copycat panel. And the monorail works on the phantom tracks and vice versa.
The only thing Steam and Rails is missing is a smokestack extension that matches it in texture and color without using something like a wall (girders work but the color doesn't match).
You've also missed that Vent block i sactually for that new conductor functionality as well, since they can tp between ends of connected vent blocks. Yes, it's amogus reference 💀
We found this out on the Create the Server server: you can use vents to make the conductors move super quickly! They teleport to the end of any loaded vent.
With vent blocks. If you use a conductors remote lens and click on a row of vent blocks. You will be teleported to the other end while as the conductor
the remote lense seems like a lot of fun, but the phantom rails gave a lot of inspiration for builds like flying spooky train, hoverboards, and planes and boats like you showed us in the video My favorite feature is definitely phantom rails

did you know that if you have a line of vent blocks when you are controlling a conductor you can press space while on the vent to vent ... like in among us teleporting the conductor around making navigation between areas with just one conductor really quick making it the best thing in the update(not just becaues of the among us refrence)
The phantom tracks are a god send I have this base thag is supposed to be an abandoned haunted steampunk manor and i had a train running around, now i can move it to the air freely Also couldn't you technically use the conductors to load remote chunks to keep factories running?
Phantom track can be used for ghost trains traveling where rails are used to be, and they can be used for derailment like a train falling into a ditch or simply run off the tracks.
I have a request for you. You see, I am working on a project. I’ve tried many times to create a working great glass elevator, moving vertically and horizontally. However, every time, the result was always a failure. As a result, I ask you whether to create it in a separate video, or as as a part of another. I would really appreciate it; have a nice day 😊!
The true purpose of the vent blocks is the "venting" mechanic where you can control the conductor and go through the vent block like you where "venting"
As a note, I've found that remotely connecting to conductors only works if the chunk was loaded at some point that session Also, player controlled conductors can interact with redstone things, and are _very_ prone to taking fall damage
I really hope someone makes a coaster track mod or that they even add it in this mod. Ive been using it to make coasters in my theme park but I cant do loops yet
yes, ive had them work with buttons, levers, pressure plates, and doors. if a player wearing a hat, or a conductor controlled with a lens, looks at another conductor standing in front of a button or lever, it will activate it for you too. if you dye a cap, that function only works if the player or lense-controlled conductor has a cap of the same colour. iirc an npc conductor with a white/undyed cap will "listen" to a player with a cap of any colour
Hi great video! Glad to see some more love for trains in create :) Is it possible to share the modrinth link from now on instead? As Curseforge's practices have been quite anti-competitive against open source launchers.
the smoke stack and vent block thing isnt how it works as the smokestack smoke follow the same code as the campfires and instead what you do is that you can put goggles on conducters an use a romote lense and then when controling the conducter you can walk into vent block and go to the other side and then you can also make them lool like other block like copy cat pannels and so allways know what block the vent block is when disguiesed, the conducters see them as like e thermal vision but only on that block.
Thats not the real use of vent block, the real use for it is to teleport. By wearing a conductors cap named "sus" you will become a conductor which allows you to use vent block. They must be connect like a worm to work
