Barb, I read in an article once that the 'The Crucible' was supposed to have been be ALL filmed outside, and not on the Paramount set. Unfortunately, rain moved into the area of the site they'd chosen, at the last minute, so much of the episode had to be filmed inside. It would have added a nice dimension to it, but it is still an unforgettable episode. I agree it was just about the best work of Pernell's on the series. That final scene, when Ben and the boys spot him, still dragging Kane's corpse along, and Adam is completely delirious, and they fall into that family embrace ? It can still make my throat catch, and I begin to tear up, 50 odd years later !! THAT'S the true beauty and the power of Bonanza, and those wonderful actors ! :)
Thank you so much for all your wonderful uploads. I always learn something new & fun. I have watched all of the 1st 6 seasons of Bonanza many times, but could only watch 'The Crucible' once & I cried all the way thru'. It is SOO intense! Love Pernell Bunches! 💓🤗✌️
I believe if I'm not mistaken, the Robert family Union was in the year 2000, 10 years before Pernell Roberts passed away, I 've watched it from time to time on the TH-cam channel and I think it shows the year 2000 but I could be wrong, it is showcased on the TH-cam channel.
