One more thing about Nestlé -- Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, a former chairman and CEO of the company, famously said that water is not a human right. That statement, in and of itself, should dispel any doubts about Nestlé's evil intentions.

The problem is, the corporate model is evil, meaning even the good corporations are likely to go bad. With PACs, Wall Street, mergers, and the Money is Speech legal doctrine, there really are no corporations to look to for conscientiousness.

Good luck...even the "best" well intended companies hide detrimental business practices. Usually because they're viewed as pro-enviroment, humanity, accountability, etc. Any company that's been around long enough turns into a money making monopoly at the expense of service, product, freedom, and the planet.

When I was younger I was a CNA. I worked at a nursing home and had sat with a lovely woman while she was eating. She ate her entire meal and even asked for extra pudding. She had Alzheimer's, so that was quite a thing.
The RN asked me how I gotten the lovely woman to actually eat all of her dinner. I advised her that I had just talked to her. She said, "Don't bother talking to the Alzheimer's patients. They won't remember it anyways."
I was losing my grandma to Alzheimer's at that time. That was my last day as a CNA. My grandma died shortly thereafter by choking on her dinner at a similar home.
When my boyfriend's mom was ill, I wholeheartedly supported keeping her at home. She didn't want to stay in a home or stay in hospice. She had been a RN who has worked in hospice and emergency.
So yeah, I completely agree with what you said.

FUN FACT: When _Coca-Cola_ was first made it contained cocaine, which was not illegal at the time.
Also, I’m old enough to remember when soft drinks came in glass bottles that could be redeemed at any store that sold that brand. Small bottles brought you three cents (in those days of penny candy) and a large bottle would get you a nickel; before the switch to plastic, the prices went up to a nickel and a dime, respectively. When I was in the fourth grade (1965-66), our class had a field trip to Coca-Cola bottling plant in Santa Clara. WHEEE! Fun times…

California was probably already more expensive than a lot of the rest of the country, although not to the degree that it is now. I’m very, very lucky in that I’ve been in my apartment for five years and my landlord hasn’t raised the rent, although he has had a lot of turnover for a lot of different reasons, and even though I’ve been late a few times (I’m retired and lose track of time), I just add a small penalty of my own devising to that rent check. I finally got wise and now have reminders in my calendar.

that's why the corporation was invented. So scumbag rich people could do scumbag moves without being associated with it. The very design of a corporation is to force the company to continue providing ever better profit margins by means of selling smaller versions, using less quality ingredients or materials ... until the company is put itself out of business by ending up providing an inferior product which is overpriced and has almost no customer support

It is hard when family members are struck with 3 or more problems that will lead to death, because they can't afford insurance to see doctors to get meds they so desperately need. These evil people also get to dictate how long they see their patients. Ridiculous!!!!!!!

I remember most of these companies being reviled even back in the 60’s thru present. I guess it doesn’t matter how much money u r making the owners/shareholders etc…it’s never enough…GREED the most evil of the 7 deadly sins. These companies make an incredible amount of cash…enough to where they could be environmentally and run their companies in a HUMANE way and still make boatloads of $$$. But most sadly I use many of these companies …I don’t own shares but I help them make money. MIKE I saw a comment that stated u should do a show on the companies that do run a healthy company. I would really like to see that show!! Congratulations on doing a show like this…calling an evil co. Evil…Thank you!!!!

Hershey's is totally different and not a subsidiary of Nestlé. Interestingly enough, Hershey's Ice Cream, also founded in Lancaster, PA is not related to The Hershey Company or the Hershey Trust.

    # 20 Goldman Sachs One detail that must be remembered with the info here: They, like all lenders, were forced. Barney Frank's House Banking Committee wrote new rules *requiring* lenders to make sub-prime loans. [A sub-prime is a loan that would not have been made based on the applicant's provided info b/c the likelihood of their default was so high.] Being forced by these rules to make these very risky loans, of COURSE the lender will seek a means to bundle the mortgages as an asset, being "future income" satisfied by the borrowers' payments. Then - as their credit history suggested would happen - borrowers began defaulting massively and the mortgages were worthless. Had the House Banking Committee not forced the loans to be made, the problem would not arisen.

@@list25 So, true story. I was watching a couple of your old videos a few years ago and was thinking about how much you reminded me of an old high school friend I hadn't seen in 20 years. I was inspired to reach out to that friend and was delighted to discover that even though we live more than 3 hours away from where we grew up, we now live 10 minutes apart. I'll be seeing him in a couple hours for lunch, as we meet up often. Thanks for your role in bringing my friend back into my life. Hope life is treating you well.

When I was in high school, RJ Reynolds paid our towns two high-schools and got a new state of the art workout gym, all uniforms and equipment for every sport, plus their shoes if they would put smoking area in the high-schools. Letting kids from 13-18 yrs old to smoke. Lifelong habit for so many people. The kicker is none of the jocks or cheerleaders could go out there. They did it anyway in the bathrooms.

Also, be aware that Stouffer's products are owned by Nestle, as well. Albeit, insane business practices: Human rights, animal rights, environmental rights...all are very mind boggling.

Walmart. I was a kid and desperate for a job where I didn't have to deal with a lot of people. I worked nights in the shoe dept. But I also learned first hand that they try to indoctrinate employees to the belief that unions, which are meant to protect employees from employers like Wal-Mart, are bad.

The worst company I worked for is Walmart.. And it's not their fault.. They've been sued so many times that they have a 'policy' for every little thing.. if I sneezed wrong, id get written up because I can only sneeze one way.. Someone got injured sneezing a different way and sued them so now we all only have one way that we can sneeze..
