Uma's stunt double is a badass named Zoë Bell. She was also Lucy Lawless' stunt double in Xena, Warrior Princess, and she was featured in Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof, where she plays ship's mast in one of the coolest car sequences put to film.
Tarantino has been toying with the idea for years that he will make Kill The Bride as his last film, and it will be about Vernita's grown up daughter tracking down and trying to kill The Bride. He has talked about having Maya Hawke play The Bride's daughter and having Daryl Hannah back as the one who trains Vernita's daughter. I hope he doesn't retire like he says he's going to, but I REALLY want to see this film.
Sofie Fatale as well, whose other arm is explicitly cut off in the Japanese cut of Vol. 1, not just implied like it is here. Tarantino has sometimes described it as Nikki being trained "by the woman with no arms and the woman with no eyes."
32:03 Thank you for finally replying "It's a movie!" It was so annoying nit-picking everything as "unreal", in what is a clearly intended, fictional over-the-top action flick. 😆
This is Tarantino's best film to me. Not a popular opinion, but it's the one I always come back to. It's the most minimal dialogue he has in all of his movies, but I think it has way more depth than given credit for. The characters talk through their facial expressions and emotions and every role is perfectly cast. It's amazing how in sync the actors are in this movie. Uma Thurman, Lucy Liu, and Sonny Chiba should have got Oscar nominations. The actual dialogue that it does have is full of wit and humor. The musical choices and renditions are otherworldly.
"...She'd have bled out" "It's a movie." That cannot be overstated in this case. Even more so than other Tarantino films, this is a deliberately heightened reality. Tarantino films take place in an alternate universe to ours, more violent perhaps, but certainly historically divergent. This is a step further apart from that. This is a sequel movie to the TV pilot that Uma Thurman's character from Pulp Fiction made. It's a movie within a set of movies. That's why you have to let some unrealistic parts go. It isn't meant to be realistic, at least not in the brutal way most Tarantino movies are.

What I love about these two films is how they’re like love letters to the history of the western and samurai film genres and how they both influenced each other, hence being different sides of the same coin as with Volume One and Two.
37:30 They both did the majority of the stunts, but Uma Thurman's stunt double is Zoe Bell, who Tarantino later used as an actress in Death Proof, Django Unchained, The Hateful 8 and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
I'm pretty sure that, if you can't see Uma's face, its Zoe Bell. Not to discredit Uma, she did all of the emotional heavy lifting, but I believe Zoe did the vast majority of the actual stunt work
There is also a documentary named Double Dare about Bell when she was a stunt double for Lucy Lawless on Xena and her getting Kill Bill is the movie's happy ending. The other stunt double featured, the former Lynda Carter Wonder Woman stunt double Jeannie Epper has a cameo in Vol. 2 as the preacher's wife
Daryl Hanna’s whistling song may be my favorite whistling. It’s from a 1968 movie called “Twisted Nerve”. Tarantino added it into the film after he saw this film at a film festival. He knew it would be a hit when everyone had the main theme and were whistling it by the end of the movie. Yeah, it’s either that one or the song “The Devil is in the Beats” by The Chemical Brothers which was from the appropriately named movie “Hanna”.
I have the Japanese DVD release on this one. Kinda like the director cut. And the difference here is: 1. Loong monologue origin of Oren ishi and more brutal scenes of anime in it. 2. The sword fights in Full color instead of black and white. 3. The kid getting spanked gets thrown to a wall earlier in the fights with the few people. 4. Close up face of the female assassin screaming while getting stabbed. 5. Sophie's arms Both got cut off during the interrogation scene 6. Plus more crazy back flips and the bride has two sword fatalities during the sword fight scenes.
The other cut totally changes her reaction to the spanked kid (who's mask she had cut off his face earlier, which is why he was the only one without one) from "a kid?!" to "you again?!"
Zoë Bell was Uma’s stunt double in these films. She’s been in several of his films as not just a stunt double but as an actress as well. Most notably in Death Proof. She’s crazy for doing the car chase scene in that one.

Zoe Bell did the stunts for Uma Thurman in this movie! She's also in Quintin Tarantino's "Death Proof" playing herself as a stunt woman! She's incredible!
Here is a fact- In an interview, Quentin Tarantino said the use of animated sequences inside a film was inspired by a south Indian film Aalavandhan(pronounced aaah-la-vaan-dhan) by Kamal Hassan which showed the violence by animated sequence(Although a low budget film compared to now)! Tarantino after seeing the film loved the film & the concept so much and as he is also a fan of the Ghost in the shell series wanted to convey hyper-violence by animation where he can show more violence in an anime style. So, he brought in one of the best anime studios to do that animated part.

A couple things of fun. Before the fight with O-Ren, when O-Ren tells The Bride that she had better have saved her strength or she (The Bride) won’t last five minutes. The fight goes for exactly four minutes and fifty- nine seconds. In Pulp Fiction, when Jules says that he’s going to walk the earth like Caine in Kung Fu. David Carradine (Bill) is who played Caine in Kung Fu.
Only years after this was released you realise it's probably one of the best movies anyone will ever make. The Leone and Morricone references hark back to the only period where films were ever better than this. Alongside Once Upon A Time In The West, this is one of my favourite films ever. I respect the fact that you wear a shirt of Bruce Lee that acknowledges where the yellow and black suit came from. I still hear people calling it the Kill Bill outfit when they see someone dressed as Bruce and it ticks me off. Its the Game of Death outfit people.
The final battle between O-Ren and the Bride is by far, the Best action sequence, and really pays homage to some of the most classic samurai duels of old Asian martial arts films. Of course, O-Ren is the best of the Deadly Vipers
You're right; the swordfights are a direct homage to LW&C right down to the dying breath monologue by Oren (which I believe was cribbed from White Heaven In Hell.) The story structure, set pieces and cinematography are taken straight from Lady Snowblood.
My favorite film tied with Its a Wonderful Life 😁 oh and we must shout out so Zoe Belle who is not only the bride's stunt double in this movie but also Xena Warrior Princess stunt double
I love that anime origin sequence for O-Ren Ishii. It's one of the best parts of the whole movie, complete with the main theme from The Grand Duel, a very well done Western starring Lee Van Cleef which I recommend checking out when you get the chance.
I’ve always been more of a volume 2 kinda guy. While the first is really great, I feel like the second part plays to Tarantinos strengths more. I’m a sucker for a drawn out bit of dialogue in his films.
My friend Cappi Ireland was in charge of Umas wardrobe. She was the one to bring in the Bruce Game of death outfit that Quentin got all giddy about, she was kind of immortalized in an amalgam of behind the scenes characters in Once Upon a time in Hollywood as Kurt Russels producer wife
There was Go Go's older sister in the original writing. She was supposed to follow the Bride to the U.S. to get revenge and then would fight there. The older sister was going to be played by the pretty psychopathic girl with the sickle in the violent cult Japanese film 'Battle Royale' but she was already filming something and couldn't do it. She was then written out of the story.
The trumpet is played by jazz musician Al Hirt titled "Flight of the Bumblebee", was arranged by Billy May and conducted by Lionel Newman. Original music composer was Russian Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov (born March 18, 1844; died June 21, 1908). "Flight of the Bumblebee" was a popular hit in the 60's and used in the short lived TV series (one season) 'The Green Hornet', and Bruce Lee was on that series. He played the role of Kato.
Ik you guys were joking about it at the beginning but having weapons (i.e. a samurai sword) around and teaching your children to respect it is a seriously good thing for their personality development. Shows how serious some things need to be taken, and grows a respect for dangerous things/situations that children otherwise dont have a chance to learn from until they are teens doing stupid and reckless things. In summery, you SHOULD get a samurai sword lol.
It's like they say, whatever is normal for YOU is your normal. I had my first firearm I owned at like 5 or 7, a .22 rifle, got my own first shotgun at 11, first high powered rifle at like 14, and once I turned 18 I started buying all the guns lol. My older sisters, my younger sisters, we're an entire family of trained experienced concealed carriers, so when I encounter people who hate guns, it's WEIRD to me, IT'S NOT NORMAL TO ME. But treating firearms with extreme respect because you've seen so often what they can do, how bad it can be, and how to do it safely, it's just second nature because it's normal life. Another example, my parents stayed together until death, so it's weird to me parents getting divorced, which made me an odd one out being an 80s baby, because like ALL my friends came from broken homes, that's normal to them and I'm weird for having both parents.
"Remember that one time you wanted to buy a samurai sword?"
Every guy ever: "You mean right now?"
My dad has three 😂
My brother has one
Umm nope.
Ah good friend of mine bought one the day he moved out

Of course, O-Ren is the best of the Deadly Vipers
There was respect between the Bride and O-Ren that didn't exist with the other members of the squad.
Really? I thought black mamba was the best. Do you mean O-Ren is the best After black mamba was put into a coma?
I like the Crazy 88 fight because it’s just so fucking insane, plus the fact that they had to put most of it in black and white to secure an R rating
And it last less than five minutes, as Oren was predicted.
You're right; the swordfights are a direct homage to LW&C right down to the dying breath monologue by Oren (which I believe was cribbed from White Heaven In Hell.) The story structure, set pieces and cinematography are taken straight from Lady Snowblood.
Elle’s hospital whistle is my ring tone
Vol. 2 is great! You should definitely watch Grindhouse. Tarantino's Death Proof is one of my favorite Tarantino movies.
Quentin said in an interview that he does not like his movie 'Death Proof'. I watched it on Hulu and I did not care for it myself.
@@undergroundwarrior70 I'd put it above once upon a time in Hollywood. Definitely.
Mr: "let's watch kill bill vol 2"
Mrs: "okiee"
lol cute :)
I really "lol'ed" when she said "A little porno music, that's how we're doing this?" 😂
Thank you for saying it’s your favourite Tarantino. It’s mine too. Seen it three times in one day at cinema.
My favorite film tied with Its a Wonderful Life 😁 oh and we must shout out so Zoe Belle who is not only the bride's stunt double in this movie but also Xena Warrior Princess stunt double
Love how you matched the colorings
"Oh God, somebody kill him." I burst out laughing (a cruel laugh it was, but it was also justified)
Both Kill Bill movies has always been my favorites since the beginning and they still are
I love that anime origin sequence for O-Ren Ishii. It's one of the best parts of the whole movie, complete with the main theme from The Grand Duel, a very well done Western starring Lee Van Cleef which I recommend checking out when you get the chance.
I have heard that Daryl Hannah spent months learning to whistle, just for that scene.
I’ve always been more of a volume 2 kinda guy. While the first is really great, I feel like the second part plays to Tarantinos strengths more. I’m a sucker for a drawn out bit of dialogue in his films.
Volume 2 put me to sleep the first time I watched it but I enjoyed it after I gave it another chance.
That damned fish
i guess we'll just have to wait and see...wont we?
Kobe actually gave himself the Black Mamba nickname because of this movie.
I never noticed, but I think the word he meant to use was atrophy, not entropy.
They’re similar. Entropy is the reason things decline over time.
I don't remember any of that... : /
I do remember she was also in BR though. Probably where QT got that pairing idea.
And it was remade by Walter Murphy as Flight '76.
Oh gosh I loved the Mrs. reactions to this amazing movie!! Her head bobs and wide eye shocks at times. I'm sure she'll enjoy the Part 2.
She : "what?... that's not possible.... whaaaat... Noooo way... whaaat?.... how this could be?.... wait... but...
He : 😠...💔...I'm done!
I love that he gives her no spoilers so she can go in blind. I wish I could watch this movie for the first time again
I wish QT did more action movies. The fight against crazy 88s is epic!
love your editing guys, matching the scenes and stuff, very nice
I’ve been waiting for this!!
