Thanks Matt! We hope to get out there again soon but the weather is not kind. Once the water levels drop we’ll head back for more. I’ll keep you posted! Thanks for watching!
Looked like a great day out doesn't look to cold there ,Just found a spot where my average pan is .2 of a gram best pan over half a gram and its just scraping surface clay cheers Glenno.
It was chilly, but once you get working it was tshirt weather. Probably low 40s or 4-7c that day. The water is freezing though. Spring water and snow melt. We still have some prospecting work to do here. I know there is better gold, just need to poke around more. Average .2 per pan!!! Good lord! That’s some great material. Half gram!! Holy cow.. you’ve gotta be excited to work that area. You got videos on this area? I need to see these pans! Thanks for watching, appreciate the support.
Also. Happy to see your reply actually show up and I’m able to reply. I’ve read your previous comments but they get hidden. Not this one! I’m headed to your channel now to see what’s new!
Only a photo on my Get Down and Dirty Prospecting page on fb still have to go back as there is 30feet by 3 feet left to work But i'm back to work and i'n not posting till after I can get back
I might have all ready commented about it but the boundary is back down past the first camping spot before the bridge , there should be a sight on the tree right before the first camp spot .
Ah yeah remember you said work the corner past the bridge. In truth we haven’t been back since late December. Next time I’ll walk up and down the area. Whenever I get there I just want to get in the water and start washing rocks. We’ll be back, it’ll probably be a few more weeks though. Thanks for the info and tips. We really appreciate it!
@@510prospecting Yea I haven’t been up to my claim in a wile , my guess is the way the weather we been geting gona be a wile before I can get up that far ! Might even be hard to get to the one mile camp ground “ that’s what we call it , about a mile up to the withdrawn area ! I’ll keep watching your videos and stay in contact that way, mabee we cross paths up there .
Awesome video bro, got a bit in the end. Often even in areas that have not been worked alto up on those mossy rock spots they are normally very good but it seems the gold is always best on the surface (or right on bedrock) the middle layer is normally much poorer, so it could potentially be more effective just to clear the intire surface layer on that area there? Keep up the great content!
Yeah still some work todo there for sure. When the water level drops in the summer I’ll dig down a ways and see what turns up. So far it seems like the first 6” is where the easy gold is. Hard to tell what’s been worked with the floods reclaiming the area. I’m eager to dig down a ways to find a clay layer or bedrock. It’s hard to do with the water filling the hole and massive rocks down deep. This place has potential.. but we’ve got our eyes on a few other local spots. Hope to get out again soon. Right now all the creeks and rivers are flooding. So we’ll have to wait a bit. As always, thanks for watching!
@@510prospecting Awesome cheers bro! Yeah really just prospect around and keep looking until your totally happy with what your getting, often the bedrock/clay layer can be HUGE payday but can also have not much more really depends on the spot, keep it up and you will hit that mother lode soon !
Gona be hard to dig down to bed rock there , if you go up to the last camping spot there is some bed rock there . If your not sure about the boundaries there walk up the road tell you see the withdrawn sign that the end , it’s just a ways past last camp spot . Also if you stop off at the forest service there in cottage grove . They have a small yellow pamphlet that shows the withdrawn areas up there and there boundary’s !
Where would you suggest going gold panning at rite now? I went to Lawson bar a couple weeks ago but it was completely under water. I tried panning along the bank but I wasn't really finding much.
It’s difficult this time of year. Basically gotta find creeks.. but even then when it’s raining hard not much you can do. Lawson might be okay now. Hasn’t rained in a while. You can monitor the water levels using the usgs website.

Put a rubber band around the top of the hole you'll see the difference bud for sure
Not sure what you mean! I’ll try anything for more gold. Lol thanks for watching!

Why is it i never see people dredging on any of the creeks up there anymore
Illegal on most creeks. Can only dredge on non-essential salmon habitat. The state has made it very difficult.
Can you dredge on champion creek
Unfortunately not.
