I have a son called Adam aged 34 I cannot imagine the pain this mum an her son are in, I lost my husband to cancer, this melanoma and other cancers seem to be prevalent and especially in younger people.

Thank you and sorry to hear about your husband. Yes, unfortunately melanoma is the most common cancer for Aussies aged 20 to 39. Thankfully Adam is well and has responded to immunotherapy treatment. Very best wishes to you.

I thought they met you in person to discuss a cancer diagnosis, not a phone call.

It depends. This cancer is nothing to mess with. Spreads FAST...to liver, lungs, and then the brain. . Sometimes a phone call is better than the gut wrenching drive to the Drs office- and safer. (Especially if its a longer drive).
      Cheers.

I also got a phone call (from a nurse). Scheduled for surgery in another week.

I'm in the US. I got a phone call from a nurse, and then my doctor followed up with a call later that evening. Mine was somewhere around Stage I, so perhaps it would've been different had it been further along. I don't know.
