the true shortcut when driving in gta is being realistic about what you or your vehicle are capable of. generally, sticking to highways and not doing anything crazy to save time will get you from point A to B faster
@@jay_344 yes agree, most of the time just getting to a highway is the best for longer travels. But especially for players who want to spice things up shortcuts are a fun alternative that can also sometimes save you some time
@@EenGamer. Knowing me, Im certainly gonna hit a tree or barrier or something and my character would fly out of the car and die losing 5k trying to save 1 second. And respawn further away from my location before death...
Similarly, if you spend enough time in one vehicle you can get a feel for the handling to where you can really push that vehicle to its limits. For example I've driven the armored Kuruma so much that I can totally power slide it through certain turns just perfectly, really maintaining a lot of my speed.
@Dansiman1 it depends, some cars ate designed to handle like shit, like the big, unstable 4x4's that can literally fall over on the side in a curve, or even the truck Trevor drives in story mode, which you can upgrade to the max, yet it has a horrible turn radius to the point it's impossible to do some things with it like driving on the wrong side of the road.
On the alternate route of that one, (10:06) I always cut the trees on the bend that allows me to carry more speed down the hill than if I were to take the small chicane properly
I have it in my videos because my screen is actually this aspect ratio, most people have 16:9 screens. But I agree it is really nice for mobile watchers, since it fills more of your screen.
There's a shortcut I integrated into a custom race of mine that leads from Paleto Bay down to the docks. The "normal" way for players without a hangar at Fort Zancudo would be ot follow the highway, go over the bridge and turn right at the gas station. The shortcut is simply going right through FZ and joining the road far later. However, it's only really a shortcut if you don't have a hangar... otherwise I'd consider it the normal route. XD
I've been looking for this for a while now. Great job. I would watch a whole series of these. I've been looking for inspiration to create 'exciting routes' that comprise jumps, cut-throughs and wall rides etc. I'm a big fan of the GFRED races (Broughy) and love some of the lines those racers have found. The exciting routes don't have to be time-savers though, just slick and fun
@@cynotsimon after the success of this video im already planning on making a part 2. If you have any suggestions please send them here or in the discord :)
14:0816:50 Actually if you take the train track, not only is shorter than using the bridge but also don't have to deal with traffic (well, unless you are caught on a train)
i got a really cool one that saves a ton of time and is very rarely known. run south in the ls river on the west bank. when you get to the first big left bend, hug the edge of the water to get the widest turn possible to keep the highest speed possible, and launch yourself up the wall to the right. you'll fly over the train warehouse and between the multi stack interchange, landing cleanly on the main highway heading toward the middle of the city. high risk. but yeah, saves tons of time from normally finding your way out of the ls river if you need to get to the other side of the city.
Use the canals for CEO warehouses. If they are in Cypress Flats and the CEO office is Maze Bank West, just drive south to the canal. Quickly traverse the city that way. Also use the canal from Cypress Flats to the Diamond Casino.
There is also a shorcut to enter/get out of the Freakshop, there is a gap on the higway near the casino, you can save up to 18 second by doing it. Also very low risk
I've been playing this game since it came out and I've really only came across 1 or 2 of these and rarely lol so I don't use any of these routes normally but I did enjoy the video.
@@OlettaLiano I was driving a motorcycle the other day and I had a lot of fun with all the shortcuts and jumps. Definetly wasnt faster with the amount of times I fell of but definetly more fun

I have been playing this game for 6000 hours and I have never seen most of these shortcuts. Do you know how rare fimding this video is? It is millions to one!
Drifting? No. Taking proper racing lines? Yes. For the average player probably yes, but for people who already use it shortcuts are nice to implement, for some extra spice in your gameplay aswell.
@EenGamer. What do you mean no? Drifting saves a lot of time in street racing because if you take a corner normally at full speed, you go off the road or hit a car so you need to slow down, but if you drift you can take a sharper turn at a higher speed.
There's two gaps on the sidewalls on the overpass over Supply Street which you can take to get to the La Mesa arcade if you have it. What I'm interested in is if there are any shortcuts that lead me out of mirror park and straight down to the main roads.
Turning left from I-2 eastbound to I-1 northbound at Textile City (big interchange to the southwest of the casino) you can take a shortcut by jumping through the hospital. Normal routes include the GPS route of exit right, turn left, turn right twice, and turn left again to join I-1 and the flyover ramp route of exit right, go straight, take the road on the right, go straight and join I-1. Shortcut route is to ignore the exit, go over the gap on the right into the hospital parking lot exit, and turn left onto I-1 main road directly. Risk is pretty low and it's crossing traffic vs squeezing by cars on a ramp, but you are able to drive at speed for longer especially compared to navigating around the gap in the barrier on the flyover ramp. With little difference in distance I'm not sure if it actually save much time, but I personally like the shortcut better since it has less corners. Turning right from I-1 southbound to I-2 westbound you can take the routes of a) first exit, go straight and take the road on the right, b) first exit, turn right, turn left to cut across and take the ramp joining I-2 westbound across the junction, c) second exit, road on the right or d) second exit, road on the left and go across the junction. I personally take c and if I was too fast for going right at the split then end up with d, but not sure if it actually saves time- I'd say circumnavigating stationary traffic is more annoying than passing vehicles on a ramp.
