I have always wondered why they tend to promote that "Great Controversy" book, rather than the Bible. It is like the Mormons promote the book of Mormon The JW, the Zion watch tower. The Muslims, the Qu-ran. The Harri Krishna, their own books, etc. All these are antichrist. People should be "Born Again" - Repent. Be baptised. Be filled with the Holy Spirit. Unless you are born again you cannot see ( what the Gospel is saying, no matter how spiritually literate you are), and you cannot enter into the Kingdom of God (personal relationship with Father Son, and Holy Spirit)
So everyone needs to get divine power from God to understand the code of the bible?? So these books aren't they aid to bible understanding? There has to be a way.
William Miller, Methodist preacher, preached that Jesus would come on October 22, 1844. At that time Ellen G White was 17 years old. She belonged to Methodist church at that time. After the great disappointment, she received her first vision in December 1844. Later, she accepted Sabbath keeping truth. Seventh-day Adventist Church was founded in 1863. Please do research carefully and speak.
1st Corinthians 12:10; 14:1, Ephesians 4:11, Romans12:6 all these talk about how prophets are important and are expected to come in our time , no wonder there's a warning of false prophets because true ones would come. Adventist would as well be willing to accept any prophet to arise if he/she would be found to be true. Ellen white's prophetship was measured by a thus saith the word . She never exulted her writings over the bible but in all her writings she pointed to the bible as the basis of our Faith. In short Adventists have their prophet who they believe pushes them back to the bible. Now mention your prophet or if will arise in the future let us know because he/she is crucial in the edification of the church just like Ellen white edifies the Adventists.
The SDA church is not the first Sabbath keeping church. The first recorded formally organized Sabbath church was founded in England. in 1651 and was called the Seventh Day Baptist Church, then it was founded in Rhode Island America in 1672. William Miller and Ellen cannot be credited with the formation of the Adventist church, they were part of those who organized it. The first Sabbatarian Adventist congregation was formed in 1845 by Frederick Wheeler, a Methodist minister, and Rachel Oakes, a Seventh Day Baptist. "Many Christians observe a weekly day set apart for rest and worship called a Sabbath in obedience to God's commandment to remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Early Christians, at first mainly Jewish, observed the seventh-day (Saturday) Sabbath with prayer and rest.[1] At the beginning of the second century the Church Father Ignatius of Antioch approved non-observance of the Sabbath.[2] The now majority practice of Christians is to observe Sunday, called the Lord's Day, rather than the biblical seventh-day Sabbath as a day of rest and worship.[2]" I don't have a Messianic Jew synagogue in my area and that's why I am still attending the Adventist church.
Well whether you like EG White or not there is one thing that cannot be disputed: “the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord your God.” Exodus 20 verses 8-11.
I don't believe she was a prophet, just a writer. I would advise you read her books and letters in order to get more concrete criticism. But if there was one sin above another which called for the destruction of the race by the flood, it was the base crime of amalgamation of man and beast which defaced the image of God, and caused confusion everywhere. God purposed to destroy by a flood that powerful, long-lived race that had corrupted their ways before him.--Spiritual Gifts, vol. 3, p. 64. Every species of animal which God had created were preserved in the ark. The confused species which God did not create, which were the result of amalgamation, were destroyed by the Flood. Since the Flood there has been amalgamation of man and beast, as may be seen in the almost endless varieties of species of animals, and in certain races of men.--Page 75. This is just an example of what you will find if you do an actual deep dive into Ellen's writings. I read them because I wanted to know what the fuss was all about. It's clear when you read this that it's not inspired by God, but it's just a human trying to apply their interpretation to Scripture. By amalgamation she means reproduction. The Bible is clear that animals will reproduce after their own kind, therefore a cat cannot reproduce with a deer to create an "amalgamated" beast. Read for yourself and get your own criticism of Ellen White and the SDA church which is far different from what has been already circulated.

Well noted. We use different sources. Are you implying that a a 17 year old cannot belong to a movement?
But you agree with the rest of the information other that part

Thank you for the correction. I am not sure I mentioned that they were the first church to keep the Sabbath
@@drkKennedy No, you did not say the were the first church, just when they were first founded.

Sabbath keeping is not required for salvation, nor keeping any other day. We are saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus!
That's if you are a Jew who is a follower of Judaism under the Old Covenant
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
- John 1፥1 (KJV)
And your point is?
@drkKennedy Jesus is God jhon 1:14

She was a false prophet who claimed that she had direct revelation from God Himself
