I’m glad you talked about how the Aeropex and the AirPods Pro stack up. I was wondering that, since I didn’t know anyone who’s tried both. I’ve been using Aeropex for about a year or so, and I LOVE them!
Thanks, Jason! They both have their pluses and minuses. The APPs are a little more well-rounded, but they don't beat the Aftershokz when it comes to running.
Nice review Matt, I have small ears & always struggle to find the perfect ear buds. Lately I'm actually enjoying running without music or podcasts in my ears.
MelissaT aka VeganMel Cheers, Melissa! I’d say you’re on to something! If you can run without music, I’d say that’s your best bet! Not all races allow headphones, and you could get an even bigger performance boost when you decide to listen to something!
Love this video!👍👍 I'm thinking of buying the AirPods pros because I want to listen to music when I'm running and not have to worry about all the wires in my way and I want to try the different modes it has to offer.
@@owenclemons I generally use the Aftershokz Aeropex for running. I like having the one piece, rather than two earbuds, and the bone conduction means my ears aren’t blocked, so it seems a lot safer.
I have AirPod pros and Powerbeats. The pros are perfect except for not having long battery life and the ear piece to keep them from falling off. That’s why I prefer the Powerbeats.
Yeah, I've heard a few people struggle with keeping them in their ears. I haven't had that trouble yet, even while sweating heavily on runs. I like that they're a little lower profile over the Powerbeats.
I bought a dupe copy of airpods from another company and they've been great, i bought my other half the standard airpods and we're both super impressed with how they stay in your ears given theyre so small and you usually have issues with getting normal wired ones to stay in. Gotta say though, I love my aftershokz so I stick to them!
Hello sir, its been a while. I m looking forward to buying these, did they survive? Ipx4 rating is somewhat low when it comes to working out and doing more outdoorsy stuff.
Sounds pretty cool and if I ever get a chance to buy them on sale I might. I used to have some ANKER ones which were amazing, but they only lasted about a year (although that was running in almost all possible conditions and most of that during a runstreak, and they only cost $50).
It's hard to beat $50, but these APPs are pretty cool. The sound quality is awesome (for earbuds) and the noise cancellation is top notch. Still, they're still bloody expensive (even with the recent price drop)!
Matt Bertrand I haven’t bothered with any new headphones as I’m usually running with my phone in my belt, and it’s got a spot for headphone wires to poke through, so I just use the regular headphones now that came with my iPhone 8. I’ve been running more often without music as well.
@@JonsConsciousLife I've only started running with headphones on the regular recently as i've been listening to Peloton run coaches go through workouts. I generally much prefer to run without listening to anything too. What belt do you use when you run? I like your decision wo stick with the headphones that came with your iPhone. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
Matt Bertrand I have a very cheap off-brand (Made in Your Guess Is As Good As Mine) belt that my gf got me off Amazon a couple years ago when someone stole mine off a rock I’d set it on while doing 800m repeats on the trail. I think it’s called something like Lot Fancy (probably a horrible translation from something that sounds much better) and it was maybe $20. Carries two 6(?)Oz flasks and has a decent sized pouch (I can fit my phone, keys, ID card, and 3 gels in there if needed). Oh and it has built in bib clips too which was a nice feature.
Jon's Conscious Life Sounds like a solid belt, but I can’t stop thinking about the jerk that stole your first belt off a rock! C’mon people! On the bright side, you know karma struck back with a stress fracture, or plantar fasciitis, or ITBS, or (insert running injury here). 😂
thanks for the video. I have Apple AirPods (non-pro) and I was also surprised that they did not fall out. I say this because over the years I have had no success with earbuds. Question: Do you run with your phone or some other device for the source of music, etc? I like the sandisk MP3 clip but they last me only about 6 months.
I firmly disagree. The best headphones after I have tried them all, are hands down, the Power Beats Pro headphones. Will never leave your ear, huge battery life, amazing sound, and you can run with just 1 in your ear if you're worried about safety.
You’re not disagreeing. I came to the same conclusion that the APP were NOT the best headphones for running! I’m happy to hear you like the Powerbeats Pro much! 👊🏼
Airpods Pro are the only earphones that fall out of my ears, they constantly fall out of my ear, starting at 15min after my run, so I basically have to run the rest of my run without earphone otherwise they fall out of my ear every 2min and I have to constantly push them back into my ears. Once they fall, I have to stop and look for them around on the ground, just so annoying. I can't say enough how much the normal Airpods are better in terms of fit and stabilization. On top of that I would say that the normal airpods with the wire are superior since even if they fall out, they don't drop to the floor. But yeah I would advise against the Airpods Pro in my case.
Ahh, that's interesting, although not totally surprising. I've heard several stories similar to yours. I've heard one way around it is to replace the silicone ear-tips with memory foam tips. That has solved the problem for a lot of peeps. I agree with you about the normal wired headphones. There is a lot of safety (and peace of mind) in having the cord and, at this point in history, everyone has several pairs from all their iPhones over the years! 😂 Thanks so much for watching! 👊🏼
@@italianrelic It looks super nice, but seems a little expensive to be opening the occasional package on TH-cam. 😂I’m going to save one in my Amazon list, just in case. 👍
The AirPods are connected to my phone and I keep my phone in the back pocket of a pair of Path Projects shorts. (I reviewed them here: th-cam.com/video/XiXtIt-AQgw/w-d-xo.html). If I need to carry a bit more stuff, I may use a FlipBelt.

I absolutely love my Aeropex too! For running, they're fantastic! I prefer ear bud style headphones for everything else!
Lol we had people do that several times in our hometown, once they put green food coloring for St. Patrick's day.
Really cool that you tried both

The APP are my favorite earbuds for everything except running. I worry about them too much and they don’t stay in my ears when I get REALLY sweaty!
