Omg thank you so much! This was so helpful! I love the way you explained it! Simple, slow and steady and it was easy to understand...straight to the point!! Honestly, I don’t know why there aren’t any likes! Very well put and good presentation and set up...very neat and clean area, clean hands and clean cooking. No touching the food with hands and then licking your fingers like other people do with very bad manners. (I understand that they are cooking for themselves but presentation is always key!) You did a very good job, clear and easy to follow! Bless!
Thank you so much for this video my grandma gave me one of these and lost the instructions I was like ??? How do I use this thing??? So thanks you’re a life saver 😘💯
Thank you for this video! I have the same exact model that I decided to unearth again and had so many questions that you definitely answered in this video. Helped a ton 👍
Thank you for the video, its really going to help me out, I love the step by step how you explained it. I never realized it was so basic, but one question, because I've never cooked rice, how do you properly clean the rice first? Any kind of help is appreciated, thank you.
Good question. There may be many ways but I usually "pick" the rice first. This is removing the black or rotten ones. Then wash the rice in a bowl of room temperature water about 3 times before cooking. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching😊.
Black and Decker rice cookers heat up much faster than Aroma. Good video! How I know is because I put the same amount of water in my aroma and my black and Decker. The black and Decker heated up and was boiling. The Aroma hadn't even begun to boil!! No more Aromas for me!!
@@gregorybabineaux4973 would you believe I watched my machine yesterday and said to myself I need to make some more vids. I hope I can soon. Life as a mama has me busy.
Hey i just bought a rice cooker and in the instructions it says im not supposed to use it on the stove but on a countertop. I dont have a countertop in my apartment is there an alternative to this? Also how long before i flip the lid after i turn it off?
Hems port Hi. I have actually used my rice cooker on my dining table. I attached it to an extension cord. I think any flat, non- flammable surface just might work. I usually allow it to go to the keep warm setting and leave it there until I am ready to serve, then unplug it. Thanks for watching!
I used to use this one, found the rice I like didn’t look presentable, but I’m glad you enjoy it I got the expensive one like Zojirushi I’m glad to see all kinds, my aunt has one from japan I think it Panasonic
you must be Canadian for no other video ever shows this great brand of rice steamer. I also am pleased you did this video for this is the Brand I want to buy
I did have a "National" rice cooker and it had a strainer for the bottom to steam the rice after boiling. this is a feature I need. I'll have to check out the B&D ones to see
+C.C. Peace (Holt-Kinsey) the chicken was slow cooked on the stove. I mainly use the rice cooker to cook variations of rice. I will experiment with it for chicken then let you know how it turns out :)
I need to buy a rice cooker..I'm tierd of using a pot..and then the rice sticks to the bottom of the pot. How was the cleanup process? Does rice stick to inside of cooker ?
Symona Payne I haven't had problems with sticking. I usually stir the rice during the cooking process to prevent sticking from taking place. I think the rice would stick once it isn't stirred.
I have this model but in the 3 cup version. However, I find that during the beginning (when it's boiling) some water tends bubble out from the glass lid edges....despite there being a steam-hole provided. Does the bigger model do this as well too? Or did you kind of wipe it down for the video? thank you,. 🤗 Love the accent, girl! 💕
Sylvia hey. I have had bubbling over the edges while making some items. To solve this, I usually open the lid partially during the cooking process and that works. Thanks for watching!
Bought an aroma that is very similar to your bd, but mine didn't come with a steam basket unfortunately🙁. Although I'll put my sugar snaps, corn, and sometimes broccoli on top. It's hard to get use to because I've always cooked rice on stove top and 1 part rice to 2 cups water is different in a rice cooker if you want good sticky rice.
hi. thanks for sharing. may I know the cooking time? or it was preset by the rice cooker? i suppose it should change with quantity and rice type, anyway...
andrea lenzi the rice took approximately 30 mins to finish. However, the rice cooker shuts off whenever the rice is finished. You are also right- it is dependent on the item and amount being cooked. Thanks for watching 😊
thanks for the fast answer :-) actually i don't know if i have to set manually the cooking time, or use the presets (40 min quick cooking, 1 h fine cooking) provided that i read "10-minute ready rice" on the box
Big Beats hey, sorry I did this so long ago that I can't remember the diet I followed at the time. If it helps, I did use the "Meal Prep Haven" portion control containers to guide the portion of proteins I ate.
I bought 6 cup black and decker rice cooker. The rice cooker gets too hot and shuts off early making rice raw. put aluminum foil inside and cut a hole for the thermostat. Now rice cooks perfectly.
Hi Crown of Elegance-- I found out my local store has this for only $20. I am throwing out my old rice cooker, but, could have kept it, but it was just old because I made the mistake once of scraping the metal container too much. Oh well.
Thank you for this video. I just bought this rice cooker and my first batch was mushy and it made a mess all over he counter. It boiled over and was awful. I read the directions twice but I didn't NOT understand from the papers that 2 in the bowl was for 2 cups for rice. I thought that was 2 cups of water for 1 cup of rice. Making it again now and hoping it turns out like yours. Otherwise, I'm just an idiot who can't use a rice cooker.
Ha ha... It takes a little getting used to. My first try was a complete disaster but I got it right and you will too :). Happy cooking and thanks for watching!
It turned out perfectly! It started to boil over once but I took the lid off and stirred for a minute, put the lid back on and it cooked the rest of the way with no problem! Thank you thank you!
I used the lines on my cooker, and had the same result. Starchy water boiling over. Think I'm going to use a measuring cup next time for the 2:1 ratio of water.
henry velazquez hey, I have only placed the leftover rice in the fridge for a maximum of 2 days. For a longer period I suggest placing into a freezer or the freezing compartment of the fridge. Hope this helps and thanks for watching😊👍
Crown of Elegance. It actually does. I was thinking of cooking a weeks worth of rice to not worry about cooking every day. Thats just me being lazy lol I dont think Im that lazy to complain about cooking it every two days. Plus thats the majic of these rice cookers that they do all the work. Thanks for the advice.
hi, sometimes I experience spillage if I have too much water in the rice cooker bowl. Try reducing the water to rice ratio and add water gradually as needed or you can use the rice cooker with the lid positioned slightly opened. This usually corrects my problem.
So, you just let it cook the 30 minutes without stirring at half the time? I just ordered a rice cooker but have never used one so I'm researching before picking it up.
You will thoroughly enjoy using your rice cooker. I love that I can leave it, do other stuff and I know what I am cooking is not going to burn. During the process of cooking you can give the rice a quick stir with the plastic spoon that comes with your rice cooker because sometimes it may stick to the bottom of your pan.
Maria Barbara hello there. It is an equal ratio. Using the plastic cup that comes with your machine and not a regular measuring cup, 2 rice cooker cups of rice = 2 rice cooker cups of water. Hopefully this helps😊
Met many from Iran and they are some of the best people I've met though I'm not a fan of your government. But yes I love Iranian home cooked meals! From Chattanooga TN in the USA, we cook rice different but real southern meals aren't deep fried but are steamed and roasted. ❤ from the 🇺🇸 👍
Ronnie Dillera ok cool. This is my first rice cooker and I have had a great experience with it thus far. I am still experimenting to see how much I could do with it. Thanks for watching ☺
Man!!! I use a regular one cup 1 cup and one cup off water. I didn't use the cup it came with. So if I use cup it came with I use one of those cups of rice and one of water??
This thing SUCKS. Can't cook two cups without it boiling over. Don't leave unattended. If you do put it in the sink or have a nice surprise when you come back. One cup is ok and steaming veggies is nice but I dont like it. Thanks for the upload
Freddie Murry oh yes I have found it does need checking during the process at times. I have had good success with it so far and have been using it for months. Thanks for watching😊

Thank you so much. Can you do a video for the meat? Looks like curry, is it? Like an oxtail video with rice...
ok. Will try to do one for you. Thank you for watching😆
the chicken breast was boiled and slow cooked with different seasonings
Did you use the rice cooker to slow cook or something else?
+C.C. Peace (Holt-Kinsey) the chicken was slow cooked on the stove. I mainly use the rice cooker to cook variations of rice. I will experiment with it for chicken then let you know how it turns out :)

Dont forget eating rice
so does it automatically stop cooking when its done? or do u have to time it and stop it manually?
Hey, it automatically shuts off but if there is a dish you want finishing before the shut off time, you can manually turn off the switch.
is it possible to cook chicken with this? or chicken legs at least
Oh yes you can.

How much water per rice????●●●
