Moving on the floor now, babe
You're a bird of paradise
Cherry ice cream smile
I suppose it's very nice
With a step to your left and a flick to the right
You catch that mirror way out west
You know you're something special
And you look like you're the best
Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand
Just like that river twisting through a dusty land
And when she shines, she really shows you all she can
Oh Rio, Rio dance across the Rio Grande
I've seen you on the beach
And I've seen you on TV
Two, of a billion stars
It means so much to me
Like a birthday or a pretty view
But then I'm sure that you know it's just for you
Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand
Just like that river twisting through a dusty land
And when she shines, she really shows you all she can
Oh Rio, Rio dance across the Rio Grande
Hey now (woo)
Look at that did he nearly run you down
At the end of the drive the lawmen arrive
You make me feel alive, alive, alive
I'll take my chance 'cause luck is on my side
Or something, I know what you're thinking
I'll tell you something, I know what you're thinking
Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand
Just like that river twists across a dusty land
And when she shines, she really shows you all she can
Oh Rio, Rio dance across the Rio Grande
Her name is Rio, she don't need to understand
And I might find her if I'm looking like I can
Oh Rio, Rio hear them shout across the land
From mountains in the north, down to the Rio Grande

Every DD live concert is a SURPRISE. You never get tired of, or maybe, you really get tired because you can't stay still, you have to move, dance and sing all the time ❤❤❤
Im 52 i got into Duran when i was 10 back in 1981. IM LOVING your reactions to them. Keep em coming please ❤
They still finish with this epic awesome amazing single in 2024 again they've just finished touring America now next month they head off to Italy and Greece and the UK 🎉🎉🎉what a top tune and what a bloody brilliant epic awesome amazing live luv um oh yes 🎉🎉🎉 💕
I went to a show that I waited 25 years to see. I called my Grandmother so she could hear Rio. We played it so much when we were kids so...that was 15 years ago and I'm still on my Duran obsession. It's been my entire lifetime.
I’ve been a fan of DD since I was a kid in 1984. I finally saw them live this year for the very first time. I just never had the chance before, but this year I FINALLY made it. I’ve been to tons of concerts during my life of all kinds of music… and I swear that Duran Duran was the best concert I’ve ever been to in my life. It was fun, funny, spectacular, beautiful, the sound was great, Simon’s vocals at 64 years old were perfect!! He sounds the same live than on the records from decades ago, the audience was nice and happy, the whole experience was just amazing. If you’ve never seen them live, please go see them because you won’t regret it. I danced and sang throughout the whole concert, screamed sooo much that I had no voice at the end. Omg it was purely amazing. Thank you Duran Duran for a lifetime of joy. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I've travelled the world but ALWAYS missed them, I'm pretty jealous lol
Just saw Duran Duran in concert this weekend and they were amazing! And yes, ended with Rio. Simon sounding even better!
I was in Florida for both shows!!! So good, so fun!!

You should watch the official video from the 80s. It was groundbreaking back when it came out.
I’m seeing D2 again in August. Their shows are just so good, EVERYTIME. The guys have said that is important to them to give the fans a good time at their concerts. And they do! Last time I saw them I lost my voice for 5 days from screaming and singing and scream-singing…. 💯 worth it 😂
I just saw them live in June, 2023...they sounded the same as always. Such a good, energizing show!
That arena holds 25 thousand ppl I was there 29th 2023 to see there future past tour and they played Rio encore they play this track at the end because it's a classic and party 🎉🎉🎉 track and July 10th 2022 I went to hype park London UK wow wow a outside venue in central London and nearly 80 thousand ppl went and again finished with Rio the atmosphere was electric 💡⚡💡⚡ the weather was hot 🔥🥵 and Duran Duran never disappoint there gigs are totally epic awesome amazing that's why after nearly 45 yrs in the music 🎼🎶 business they still sell out there concerts and that's why Duran Duran are totally musicians and best band on planet earth 🌎🌍🌎
This is why Duran Duran are the best band on planet earth 🌎🌍🌎 they now how to put on an amazing gig always just epic brilliant 👏👏👏👏 oh yes they rock and get the audience goin 🎉🎉🎉
Rio Live on John Taylor's birthday #63.
By the way, the guitar player is Dom Brown. He's been touring with the band for almost 20 years and has done two albums with them. Also the saxophonist is Simon Williscroft.
Close. Dom Brown has played on three albums: Red Carpet Massacre (2007), All You Need Is Now (2010) & Paper Gods (2015).
@eamonconnelly8029 Yeah, I forgot about RCM! Thanks for reminding me!
One of my favorite bands! I have been a fan since 1981!❤
This was filmed in "Manchester" UK i have it on DVD among the other 14 Lol,yes i agree one of the best crowds in recent years, they have never failed to entertain in all the years i've been a fan, when you consider that all the guys are now in their 60's and have maybe 9 grandchildren between them they're doing ok.....Oh and Susie's face is a picture when it first starts up Lol.
DD is touring North America very soon. Tickets already on sale. Their concerts are super fun; everyone is joyful and sings and dances the whole time.
Thank you ! Long Live Duran Duran !
Greetings from Brugge, Belgium.
This have always been my fav DD song, i'm 47 so heard a lot lol, takes me back! Also just realised one of my friends is in this video hahaha. Up front and centre in front of the camera! Awesome!!
One of my favourite bands and songs. Been a fan for probably close to 40 years. I highly recommend seeing them live. I've seen them numerous times, including last year and I'm seeing them again later this year. Always a great time and they sound amazing!
Awesome! Always a great song to perform and every era of the band it still sounds fresh and vital.
Love your reactions and the fact you are dancing along, not just sitting there emotionless, you really are reacting ❤
Duran Duran rockz!! The two parts that keep the whole show together is the bass and the keys. John Taylor is such an impressive funk bass - his lines just warp around all the songs. Nick Rhodes' keys is such a big part of the overall sound - he can pick out the melodies or plaster the whole thing with synth. Amazing band!!
John is an incredible bass player the band as a whole are amazing
thanks duran duran
The BEST WORLD BAND !
The sax player now is Simon Willescroft!
🥰
I can't remember if yall have done "COME UNDONE," I have Chronic C.R.S. bot a fan of them in the 80's, but love the 90's stuff
You must see the actual music video!!!! Please!!!
You should do Planet Earth from the same show next time!
You want to hear some bass, do a reaction to Primus. Les Claypool is one of the best
Rio or anything from the earlier albums without Andy, missing the fire. I honestly love DD with all my soul.
What's up with the red thing on the hair line
Please do Queen at Live Aid that doesn’t breach copyright.
What's up with her forehead being red
The bass isn't really that hard to play
Not digging the way John's playing on this version. He's not enunciating the ghost notes enough here, and he's missing some in the chorus, so it makes the bass dry, and it takes away from the rhythm of the song, by leaving more empty space than it should. Almost every other note is a ghost note in this song, giving a percussive element to the bass and keeping it driving through the song. One this is that the song sounds best played on his Aria Pro bass, which it was recorded on and he played for over a decade. I don't like Dom as a guitarist for them either. Andy or Warren both played this so much better and with so much more power, with a little more sustain that bled into the bass line giving it a fuller sound. If you find a live version of Rio from the 1980s or 1990s, you'll hear what I'm talking about.
Bass line live as been like that since JT came back for the reunion tour but he still plays an epic bass line just must be hard to play that fast and hard at the end of the set but I’ll be the first one to say Oi JT sort it out but this is or has been since 03-04 onwards that Nicks keys on Rio have taken more centre stage and that’s also because as you say regards Dom, Dom is crap in comparison to Andy and a whole dimension away from Warren and it’s not just Rio
It’s all the other epic guitar led driven tracks that he’s a mile away from when soft Dom playing in his wooden style with no flair but that’s not his fault the guy can seriously play it’s DD who have put him way down the mix but that dynamic of Andy and or Warren is definitely missing and with for example……lovebox generation DD’s gig in Warsaw 2006 Dom is on fire…..I thought fuck yeah he’s well alright, but since then 🤷🏻♂️, if we are ultra critical I so prefer 90’s live DD and that is also due to Roger not being on drums, drums in DD 90’s are often so much rockier louder and punkier, I love Roger and he can play but I do wish DD were more that rock DD rather than party DD
DD still rule though always have and always will
@@johnnyskinner9944 , I've been playing this song on bass since 1985. John sounded fine with the Cirrus basses after he stopped playing the Aria Pros. It sounded pretty much the same as far as how he played it and his technique. I've heard a lot of examples post mid 2000s that sounded like the original line, but yeah, he has changed up. This isn't the first I've heard it this way, but I think it's the most glaring example. Again, with Andy or Warren on guitar, it would change things for the positive. Their sound was more intrusive, which lead to a sort of stretching resonance from the bass notes. I still love playing it on bass, guitar, and synths, but being 55, my arthritis starts getting to me right after sax solo. lol
