    Great lesson! It would be nicer if you had some dots on your fretboard for reference.

    • @brucegregori
      @brucegregori  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ha! That dots just get in my way! - Actually I have some lessons with fret markers, but remember its all about your ears. The best way to over come the lack of markers is to use the nut and the 12th fret inlay as a reference to where you are on the instrument. Personally, I just like the clean look of a fret board without markers. Thanks Bruce

    What type of guitar are you using?

    • @brucegregori
      @brucegregori  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a Benedetto Bambino model. It is a fully hollow archtop with no f holes.

      @@brucegregori sounds beautiful. What are you playing it through? Also was wondering what year the guitar was and what you would recommend if I was looking for a classic archtop jazz guitar. Thanks. Your lesson was awesome!

      @@targusnazg3963 Thanks my brother. I am using the Henriksen 12 amp. It is a solid state 150 watt amp. Pretty much flat. As far jazz boxes, it all comes down to budget. You can get some really great jazz guitars for really small amounts these days, like eastman or peerless. But if you have more of a budget of course there is the es175 or L5. I persomally benedetto. They have all of the things you could want in an archtop. But they are pricey. Thanks for the kind words!

      Is there a name or model of the Hedrickson amp you are using? Like The Bud or Blu etc. I really like the way yours sounds.

      @@targusnazg3963 I use three different amps, but they are all basically the "Bud" power amp. The difference is the speaker and cab I use. I have a 1x10, 1x12, and a head version that I pair with a Raezer's Edge 112 cab. I also like and use the acoustic image clarus iV that is a pretty awesome head as well. It is the one directly behind in the video.

    Really great lesson! Beautiful playing!. I'll bet that Benedetto cost a pretty penny. I have an all solid wood Peerless and It sounds every bit as good as that Benny... for a LOT cheaper price! It's built really well too. Don't get me wrong, I know how awesome Benedetto's are, but the price they charge for their guitars is shameful. They dash away the dreams of many that wish they could own one by their... well, bottom line... elitism. Not trying to knock them, just stating fact that they don't need to charge that much, they just CHOOSE to charge that much. If they'd knock out say $3 to $5 grand on each of their guitars, they'd STILL make a killing!

      Thanks so much for tuning in! Ha ha yes Bene's are on the expensive side for sure!
