Thank you for such a lovely and informative video! you make everything s clear, and surely inspired me to take those seeds I ordered a few weeks ago and plant them straight away, first thing tomorrow morning! I live in Australia, and just love the you tube videos posted by Asian people. Always so innovative and interesting!! The most favourite and happy vegetable I LOVE TO GROW IS choko, or chayote -- such a lovely plant, beautiful fruit and most delicate flavour! I have been fortunate to find from a lovely young Asian girl two of the more rare white Chokos, and cant wait for the harvest!! God Bless you and your family and beautiful vegetable garden!!

I know it isn't a 'movement' like permaculture, but if you wanted to you could make it into one, and have a teaching facility taking the knowledge to the rest of the world. Something like a set of foundational principles for Asian gardening... explaining maintenance of soil fertility, planning successional crops, placing of crops. Thank you for info on pruning beans. I've never heard that before. Your garden is wonderful and I love your channel.

You are so right in suggesting that long beans are tastier than french beans. When we were kids this was our favorite vegetable. Thank you for the tip. I am planning to plant some this year and hopefully will get a great yield.

Someone gave my sister a pack of yard long bean seeds about 10 years ago. I asked her about the seed pack and she told me to take them, she didnt want them. Long story short: I have been growing these for almost a decade and they have always been a hit with my family. One of the best kept secrets in gardening in America. You really should give them a try. We love them. Now we are trying a purple variety, getting ready to plant seeds now. Can't wait.

I'm about to plant some Long Beans and decided to check out TH-cam for techniques.
This is a really good and informative video, many years ago I grew some Bodi Beans (the name for long beans in my country) on a chain link fence of my home..........and it was unbelieveable how much beans that vine produced.............we ate Bodi very often and just about everyone we knew got a steady supply of beans. I can't imagine that they could have possibly produced even more if they were pruned the way you did.
Yesterday I started setting up the frames to do it like you did and I would follow your technique and hope that it works out fine with high yield.
Excellent videos and you have a wonderful garden and have created a beautiful space.
    GOD's Blessings and continued success.

I love these beans, sometimes they are also called snake beans due to their length. These beans can be eaten raw, it's much more milder and tender than green beans. It's very versatile with cooking, salad, and pickles. I prefer these to green beans.

I ordered long beans from you based on several of your wonderful videos.
I've never really pruned any of my pole beans before and always have a jungle of leaves. Im hoping that your pruning tips will work not only on the long beans but also my 2 favorite pole beans (Rattlesnake beans and purple podded pole beans).
I have to admit I have not, knowingly, had long beans. But I might have as I love most Asian foods from Korean to Chinese to Japanese and more. I also enjoy trying many different foods. I think the strangest one was stir-fried sea cucumber. Weird texture but very tasty!
Only 3 more months then I'll be out in the garden! We only have a foot of snow to look at right now in Michigan.

Greek way: boil with salt your snake beens until the get soft, strain and add olive oil and plain vinegar. Eat as a salad or as main dish. If you boiled a lot do refrigerate in the same water you boiled them cooled and make sure your beans are covered to keep the juicy for next time you eat them. I think no more than 4-5 day. Mine don’t last that long. Enjoy a yummy salad.

Thank you for sharing this, If I had watched it a week before I would've known my beans had too much water in the pot. :( Maybe I'll be able to save a few .
