They already previewed the Floor Theme Card Packs in previous updates including the roadmap and Chapter IV / Canto VI posts. The packs will be how you determine what kind of encounters you'll be doing on each floor of your Mirror Dungeon run, and your choices will be tied to rewards. So currently in MD3 you can pick an EGO gift and a connected downside, but in MD4 you'll be able to pick a floor theme (so Canto II encounters, or Yield My Flesh encounters, or a Wrath theme, etc) and then have connected rewards.

ah yeah, classic cycle(in a nutshell):
- player doesn't read skills and passives and winrating everything in a story
- can't winrate boss
- pm nerfs boss so it can be winrated, while also making a hard fight with him in a different mode
- player goes to this mode and can't winrate anything, thus doesn't get resources for completion
- can't properly prepare for a new story without resources, while still trying to winrate everything
- pm nerf story content even harder
- etc...
Even FromSoftware nerfs their bosses sometimes. No smart developer would intentionally frustrate their playerbase just to cater to the elitists who are but a tiny fraction of it. And it goes double for gacha games which are inherently aimed at casual audience. PM went an extra mile providing hardcore players with challenging endgame content such as RR, "hardcore gacha player" being an oxymoron notwithstanding.
