It does look fun but it's not a walk in the park! Juggling a job, especially a barista job, and college level classes.and homework is a LOT of hard work and doesn't leave a lot of room for free time. Be prepared for that if you go that route

One other tip about the video concerns the audio. The difference between the vocal and the music is too extreme. There are a number of solutions depending on your equipment. If you are using a phone to shoot with there is probably no external input for a microphone, if there is then get a cheap wired lavaliere microphone and clip it to the upper part of your top. The disadvantage is you are tethered to the camera. Second choice Bluetooth mic if your phone/camera can use it to record audio to the video. Not a perfect solution as there is often latency between the Bluetooth protocol for audio and syncing with your lips. The solution manually shift the audio timeline to sync with lips. The final solution uses a sidechain compressor plugin in your editing software so when you speak the music drops in volume, then manually increase the gain on your vocal track to match the music when there is no vocal, that is, the music is playing at its loudest. So, the level of the music on its own is equal to the voice on its own. If you have access to EQ then roll off every frequency below 50Hz and slightly increase by 1 to 2db the 3KHz - 4KHz band, of the vocal track, which will help the clarity of your voice. Sorry for the long explanation - otherwise your videos rock. 🖤
Gosh, I haven't been a barista since I graduated but you make me really miss it! I had so much fun doing it, I really really love crafting drinks and meeting people. Obviously it was a lot of hard work and super stressful at times, but it was overall a fun time.

Well i have two jobs.I work as a cook till night hours and wake up at 4:00 am to start at 5:00 am as a barista.Not everyone understands people who work such early hours.It feels like we roll in a different world or dimension or something like that.Anyway.. As a regular barista I make all kinds of coffee but my favourite is called freddo espresso.You may already know the process but in case you missed that i am happy to share it.It is rather simple and super fast to make!Just brew a double espresso coffee, pour it in a shaker with two ice cubes and stir it a bit in the coffee mixer.Get the cup you like, fill it with ice and pour the whole thing in it.If it looks kinda foamy you know you've done it the right way.Same way goes with cold whipped milk(just a cold milk whipped in the coffee mixer till it gets thick) on top of it and you got your self a freddo cappuccino.I also LOVE a double espresso in a hot water chocholate(non milk).

I work as a Barista too and enjoyed your video (especially since quarantine we haven't been open the last 3 weeks & I miss it! lol) Im thankful to own my own espresso machine so I can make coffee at home :) It always surprises me when people put espresso in cold drinks because it causes the coffee to be bitter (we use cold brew at our shop) but I do have customers who request the hot shots in their drinks because they like the bitter taste. I say to each their own ( and your drink looks lovely!) :) I personally am boring and prefer americanos over anything else lol. Thanks for the video! ( and glad to see it's not Starbucks! yeah for small coffee shops they are the best!) P.S. Love your haircut!!
great video and very professional overall. just wanted to point out 1 thing that might improve the coffee using a overnight stale coffee beans to adjust the machine is pretty wrong and will lead to a different result then a fresh opened beans from a bag which most of you're customers will drink. a solution for this is either calibrating with a new bag of coffee or just vacum the coffee that is left at end of the shift.

Also it's interesting you guys work off a standard recipe - who at your shop makes recipe adjustments as coffees age/by taste? At my shop all of our baristas dial in by taste each shift and throughout the day. Genuinely curious! Thx for the fun fellow barista content~
Shes answered this before, but she only makes videos when the shop is closed or when she is off the clock. And I would assume that trying not to include anyone who isnt part of the video makes sense when it's the place you work at.
(Also as a rule, people recording in public should avoid including others without permission as frequently as possible. It's quite rude to record someone without their knowledge or consent.)

Looks like you Left the croissants in a tad too long tho and you should enter a barista competition its fun i been to 2 so far :)

Don't spin the tamp after you distribute the grounds. You stand a good chance of unsettling the puck which leads to an uneven extraction of the the puck.
At my coffee shop, we do 17 grams for 20-25 seconds. I used to always have a mocha in the morning but lately, I've been having tea lattes instead because I'm trying to cut back on caffeine. Also, it doesn't have the same effect anymore.

Just to point out.. the Acaia Pearl you are using for measuring your grind was plugged in which can lead to inconsistencies in weighing to 0.1 of a gram. We were having trouble with this at work sometimes until we figured this out :)

It looks like they were putting drip coffee grinds in it, probably putting them in the metal cups for measuring purposes. I could be wrong tho

Just to point out.. the Acaia Pearl you are using for measuring your grind was plugged in which can lead to inconsistencies in weighing to 0.1 of a gram. We were having trouble with this at work sometimes until we figured this out :)
Awesome video, Morgan. I use a breville that pre infuses the water when should I start the time at press of the button or when liquid starts to drip?
