  • QUICK LOOK REVIEW - Sonik Xtractor Rods - 9'ft 3lbTC
    A brief look at the Sonik Xtractor 9'ft 3lb TC rods. An awesome and enjoyable rod to use for not just close quarters fishing but one that can cover pretty much most aspects of what we do! From small ponds and lakes and the huge waters of the USA.

    Nice video. Just got a set of 9ft 3.25lb insurgents. Really pleased with them and its so much better than lugging my 12ft rods around.

      Thanks for stopping by and checking out the video! Glad to hear you are enjoying the new rods. This is an old video now, but I will be reviewing the NEW Sonik Xtractor Pro rods soon as an update to this. Video will be much higher quality. Thanks again for stopping by and best of luck out on the bank with the new rods!

      Just ordered two of the 9ft 2.75 test curve xtractor rods to replace my 9ft Shimano TX4's which I find are far too rigid for the smaller waters I fish here in the UK. Just interested to know how you are getting on with your 3.25lb rods? Looking forward to mine arriving in a week or so. Kinda feel like I am downgrading by purchasing rods that are about a third the price of TX 4 rods. Then again it's not about the price it's about how the rod feels and performs.

      @UberDelboy666 i love them, you can chuck them further than you would think and and the play fish nice. I don't think you'll regret it. Tell me how you get on with them when you do as i'm thinking of getting some xtractor's for the lad..

      @UberDelboy666 also, how much did you pay mate? Cause the you can get the insurgents proper cheap now if you look around, particularly anything under 3lb so if you're looking for that tc i dare say you could get the insurgents for just a few quid more.

    Great review! Thinking of swapping from 12ft vaders to the Xtractors in 9ft 3.25tc

    I've had a couple of these rods for a while now, great playing action, I like them a lot. My only criticism is the line clips are useless...they don't grip line at all. You have some idyllic fishing in the states compared to most UK waters that are rammed with other anglers most of the time. You're a bit thin on the ground with big old mirrors but a small price to pay for the deserted banks.

    • @1000MILESANDCOUNTING
      @1000MILESANDCOUNTING  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I found the same issues with my line clips also. I used a very small zip tie to pull it closer to the blank, this helps grip the line much better. Thanks for following along!

    What weight leads do u cast them with the honking of getting a pair of 9ft not sure wether to get 3lb or 3.25lb i fish waters mostly up to 10 acres

    • @1000MILESANDCOUNTING
      @1000MILESANDCOUNTING  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been basically matching the TC to the OZ of the leads I use. so in this case a 3oz lead casts fine, along with a mid sized PVA stick. I would think you would feel very comfortable with either the 3lb or the 3.25 tc options. best of luck out there! Thanks for following along!

    • @Aaron_Butcher3007
      @Aaron_Butcher3007 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Joel Harber - Carp Angler do think casting a small or medium solid bag with a 2 oz lead be fine

    • @1000MILESANDCOUNTING
      @1000MILESANDCOUNTING  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Aaron_Butcher3007 Ideally with any rod TC you would be better off matching the TC of the rod to the leads and methods you plan to apply in your angling. If you plan to fish PVA bags. I would go for a med sized bag with a 2oz lead. The weight of the full PVA bag plus the lead should be fine on the 3.00TC - 3.25TC Xtractor. Let me know how you get on! best of luck!
