Amazing figure from Gong Studio! Highly recommend the Captain Marvel/Shazam, also. They look So Good together, and you can recreate some fun shots from Kingdom Come!
@ we’re both massive Superman fans, and we slightly prefer the Shazam. Not to be a bad influence and encourage you to spend more money, but…like…do it!
It's kinda strange how most of the time the 3rd party products blow the official ones out of the water. The only thing that Mezco has over this figure is the accessories. Just like their SHAZAM and Chris Reeve Superman. They give you a crazy amount of accessories, but the figure doesn't cut it. I was so disappointed when I received my pre-ordered Christopher Reeve Superman that I sold it. I would rather they spent more time on the figure itself than the accessories. If you like accessories, then mezco is the way to go. However, a figure that's classified as "high-end" and is priced as such should look the part. Otherwise, they should just sell accessory packs with the figure included.
Damn, it sucks that it was such a let down. I’m just getting into cloth goods, and The Muff Toys and Pop Mart figures are amazing. I was hoping the Mezco would at least be enjoyable. I ordered one from Amazon. I’m thinking I might cancel the order or return it. I’ve seen pics and videos where it looks frumpy, but I’ve seen some where it looks amazing. @@justgeekingout-1 What really turned me off with the Christopher Reeve Superman was that I compared it to the NECA version and it couldn't even compare to it. Granted that NECA is very brittle, but for a figure that at the time cost around $25 and came with a Blu Ray copy of the movie, it was really a turn-off. I admit that it came with great accessories, but I didn't buy it for the accessories. For me the figure is what counts the most. The accessories are just that. Extras.
That’s understandable. Did you end up getting the Mcfarlane Reeve? I have the Neca, and although I think it’s a better sculpt, the Mcfarlane is more enjoyable as a toy. I bought the classic Man of Steel Superman Mezco. The glowing red eyes feature is what sold me, but I’ve been on the fence for a while. I might return it when it comes. I don’t know.
@@justgeekingout-1 It's not as bad as the Christopher Reeve Superman. The problem with attaching a figure to a living person is that it will be compared to the person's likeness. The Man of Steel isn't. The costume is baggy, but it's got great accessories. However, I was not really interested in it after being disappointed by their Superman '78. Yes I bought the Mcfarlane version. I got it from BestBuy and it was delivered to me 2 days before Christmas. I'm satisfied with it. The face sculpt could be better. NECA still beats it on the face portrait, but it's more durable and has a wired cape, so it's got its good points for a $30 figure. I have the Gong Studios SHAZAM and I ordered the Superman from eBay. I'm still waiting for it to be delivered.
I hear you! At the price point of the Mezco, the Reeve’s figure needs to be nearly perfect, and his accessories aren’t as fun as the classic. When I get my Mezco I’ll do an unboxing and compare it to Pop Art and Muff Toys. How’s the Shazam? And let me know how you like the Kingdom Come when it arrives.
