Superman has to hold his breath. He can hold a large amount for a ridiculous amount of time but eventually he does need air. Masks help him speak and breathe. Technically he can drown it would just take a long time if he has time to catch a breath and you’d have to hold him there.
I wish we saw more of his shapeshifting. I love when he turns into monsters and stuff to fight certain bad guys.
