Behind the Scenes of "The Yinyang Master" with Karl Kohlman

Tau Films FX Supervisor Karl Kohlman revisits the complex FX work of the Cimu-hand transformation in Weiran Li's "The Yinyang Master" (2021). In one of the most memorable shots in the movie, the giant Cimu hand breaks through a pack of ice sheets on top of a heavily-packed, frozen soil.
"We are mixing different textures and trying to find an interesting level of realims," recalled Karl. "It doesn't just occur to everyone when you say that we are just going to make this hand come up from the ground."
