Everyone- Garmadon does not love Christofern more than Lloyd. Christofern represented Lloyd. Why have so many missed this? Remember when he said the 'only green thing in my life, and hopes he will forgive him, and now he's all alone.' ? Who do you think he was really talking about? He denies it at the time when Nya calls him out on that. But that's just his defense mechanism. That's his character, we should all know by now. The whole point is the plant represented Lloyd, and their relationship. He was sad when he thought the plant died, because it represented the death of their former loving relationship. Come on people! lol. The writers put a lot of really subtle things into this show, but if you pay attention, you have an 'Aha' moment. I think the only reason why it was easier for Garmadon to show affection to the plant, was because it was safe. Lloyd was so angry at his father. It's hard to connect when someone is so angry, especially when you are riddled with guilt over it. He is. Garmadon I mean. (also, read the comics) They hint at this multiple times with things he says, facial expressions, sad music, etc. And each time Garmadon does try and show he cares about Lloyd, Lloyd just snaps at him. So again, the plant is just a safer thing. This is actually pretty basic psychology. Nothing is more painful than a rift between parent, and child.

No, the film version of him was terrible. He's just more like his old self now on the series. Like a combination of his first incarnation as the dark lord, and his sensei form. Which makes sense, as that is basically how he's supposed to be now, a little of both parts of himself. That is balance.
