Nah, you would think either the pigeon died, or person died. Until some years later, you see that girl again, and say "Oh thought you were dead you bitch". "Left on read" free culture.
I've watched a few videos. From the ones I've seen the owners actually let the birds out of the home coop during the day. This helps them feel free and makes the home coop a stress free location. They train by moving them increasing distance and the bird returns home. This makes a very good one way traveler, but they didn't touch on multiple waypoint travel.
Very impressive. According to a military expert in the 1990's, natives using pigeons were able to communicate information that could not be intercepted with high tech means. I could see that. You look up and see flocks of birds flying, out of dozens or hundreds, how do you know which bird is a trained pigeon on its way to deliver a message. Destroy all birds? Not feasible or reasonable.
Sometimes enemy snipers would shoot pigeons traveling in an uncommon direction since it was likely that their home wasn't in a local spot. Still unreliable though.
@@futurehistoryarchaeologist4480lol have you ever tried to shoot a bird flying at 80 mph with a sniper rifle? Theres a pretty much a 0.1 percent chance of actually hitting the thing, thats why shooting birds is done with shotguns. If it was sitting in a tree with a tube on its back then the sniper might have a pop at it.
Thank you for explaining this so well. I was trying to find a good answer through google and I had assumed this is how it worked but all of the websites were explaining it very oddly
Question So the pigions grow up in place A and than are carried or transported by someone to Place B and than stays in Place B and than when it is loosed with a message it flies back to place A ...am i correct ?
Then after you watch the 3 min video, ask yourself Why doesn’t a big carrier pigeon just carry the message with a mini carrier pigeon somehow attatched, have a few at each end and you can basically juggle
It's a possibility. They do have a strong urge to fly back to their partner. Apparently the pigeons used to carry messages are male pigeons with a mate.
PLEASE ANSWER THIS 🥺 🥺 If i send out a pigeon from A to go to B, well A is it's home, so thats self explanatory.. but how does it learn B for the first time..???? Only once it has learnt B then it can show homing and return to A
I think if we attached jet engines to the bird and somehow taught it how to push the throttle then we would be good like imagine how funny it would be when someone keeps not responding to you and you are getting mad and all of a sudden this bird with 2 Fu**ing jet engines pulls up or flies down i should say
I didnt know this. My God Jesus talked about pigions. He told me, that I can learn from them. Here I share it to you: Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
I'm a little skeptical about magnetic reception. Someone should test it out by putting a powerful magnet next to them and see if it inteferes with them.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." -John 3:16 KJV You all need to repent and turn to Christ, tomorrow might be too late
I never knew this, but using critical thinking and logic I came to this conclusion naturally. Having a conversation with my mother about this, and I told her how I think it works (they’re bred in their location, then delivered and the bird instinctually travels back home) she didn’t believe me so I just looked up a video and look who was right 😂

They never said how the pigeon got the message to the destination.. video was actually quite useless.

I totally agree I thought it was very well done and very factual but it could do with a meme or too;overall I thought it was a good video
The background musics too grandiose for there to be a meme

interesting. i never knew the pigeons had to be sent in cages first and then 'simply' went back home. I think ive seen too many movies. xD

Good on you! I appreciate your knowledge :)
But i still not clear how do they know the first time when they leave the place from where they grown up ,the place where they have to go to ?
