I absolutely agree. It balances everything in the hallway, and is a perfectly lovely design. Please don’t change it, Carole and Adrian!! Love you guys to pieces. ❤💙❤😊💥
Please don’t change that extraordinary chandelier! It balances everything, and doesn’t detract from the new ceiling work around it. It’s also lovely with the toile de jouy fabric. Carole, I’m so impressed with your taste and keen attention to detail. That dark grey on the chair frame is indeed stunning. But that sweet chandelier…😉💙💥
I LOVE that sweet delicate chandelier too. I think you're right about not overpowering the other elements of the hallway come to think of it. A big overpowering crystal chandelier would compete with the one in the salon which is the grandest room in the chateau. But I was partial to that paler color that looked like Wedgwood blue to me on the chair & I think it blended just fine with the radiator and the fabric ...oh well. You can't win 'em all!
I can't believe there are only 85k subscribers. What a brilliant channell here. I cant quit watching. You both are amazing artists. The chateau needs you.
It is very satisfying to see Carole smile when she is content with her work. You all are nearing the end in the hallway now, and it is looking awesome. ❤
They are going to pick another place to renovate ...but back in England where they can stay close to family and friends and not have to ferry back & forth. So, you can continue to follow them on YT they said. 😉☺
Clean straight lines are such a gratifying pat on the back, aren't they? No one notices when it is perfect; but when the paint over spills, everyone notices! Good job Carole.
The pattern on the ceiling looks nice! Adrian's almost finished the floor, and I'm sure he's happy about it. The chair looks better in a darker color fits more to the radiators. Beth, you're great at painting. I'll say it again, but the hallway is unrecognizable and it looks beautiful, and in a moment, it'll be ready. You work hard, but the effect is WOW. I greet you warmly and see you soon👋
After last Sunday's news, I found it hard to start watching Wednesday's video, knowing that you're not going to enjoy all the benefits of what you're putting into the chateau. I so admire your hard work, and you have great taste Carole. I shall keep watching but what you're doing is now not going to be a labour of love but expediency. Keep your energy and motivation going in this transition phase and think of what comes next! Best wishes to you all!
The thing that is keeping me from tears is imagining how infinitely grand your next project will be. Not bigger, just your great innovation and attention to detail.
Watching the hallway being finished it makes me realize that I am going to so miss seeing the rest of the Chateau getting renovated. (sob, sob) It is such a lovely building. You are doing what your family needs for itself and we will see you moving on and renovating somewhere else, hopefully. But what of this building? Can the sales contract have a clause that you get to revisit and show updates occasionally? lol
Love the pattern you’ve chosen for the ceiling. I do wish you could find the prefect chandelier for the hallway. You all are such hard workers and doing a beautiful job. See you on Wednesday. ❤️❤️❤️
I can’t imagine how the two of you can keep all these projects and parts of the chateau and grounds and outbuildings straight. Your (plural) abilities to make strides in so many areas is amazing. Furthermore, all of you stay in such good humor, and enjoy yourselves! Thanks for the life lessons!
Hi. Have you considered upholstering those two chairs completely in with the plain dark blue? I think it’d look better and then, make a small roll pillow in the patterned fabric. 😊
Soo sorry that you had to make the decision to sell, but it’s not done, until it’s done & you never know what tomorrow might bring. If it’s meant to be, it will be, but things could change. Hang in there! Thanks for the great videos and look forward to seeing what the future brings for you all! 😊
The hallway is looking fantastic. I appreciate your meticulous attention to detail. I'm sorry to say that, I hope for your sakes that the Chateau does sell, but I also kind of hope it doesn't. But I know you feel that way, too. But, que sera sera.
Good on you Bethany for getting stuck in on the painting job.If you keep it up you might take over renovations while Mum is visiting grandma is visiting in the UK.
I couldn't comment after listening to the video with the news of the developments that have taken place and choices that you have had to make. I needed to step back and take a breath, and process the emotions. I absolutely understand the reasons for your decision, not only that but understand how torn you must be. I pray that what is best for you is what happens in the end. Selfishly I am pulling for somehow that it ends up being you don't sell the chateau and it gets finished how you envision it. Thanks for continuing the work. Blessings
I really like the pattern on the ceiling you decided on. Carole I love the trim you found for the chairs! The one you painted looks fantastic. That floor is looking wonderful as well. I can't believe it's so close to being done! The onions in the garden look like they're really doing quite well for so late in the season. Those marigolds are beautiful!
I like the chandelier too. Have you thought of painting it with the flat and lustre paints, maybe with just SLIGHTLY darker shades than those you have used on the walls and trims? That would hive it presence to substitute for size. It could be very special.
The moulding for the chandelier look stunning can’t wait to see it done . The chair looks fantastic. The solid blue work ‘s well as cushion’s for the chairs .Just an idea. It’s going to look amazing when all done.
Very satisfying watching you take off the masking tape Carole. Love the chair colour and it’ll look fantastic with the plain back and toile de jouy on the Seatpad ❤
Bethany, your mum just adores having you there. She is so much more animated when you're around ❤. And, the hallway is looking brilliant, love the pattern you decided on, on the ceiling.
Got here at 6 p.m. today as I was canning peach jam! First time doing the low sugar method and I love it! Tomorrow is roasting whole chickens and then pressure cooking them. I absolutely love the ceiling……. And the darker chair! Keep. On
Love the Christmas reindeer outside your workshop. A hint of seasons to come. Love the blue color you picked out for the chairs and the fabric and cording is perfect! You do beautiful eork!
When you look at what it was like when you started, its looking so light and amazing already. Love the chair design, looking forward to seeing those finished 😍
Hey Beth, I know exactly what you mean about cross-hatch and slip when making pottery! I had completely forgotten about doing that in Grade 7 art class (50 years ago)! I wouldn't have thought of doing that on the ceiling to help adhere the plaster casts. Great idea!!! Looking forward to seeing the anthracite chairs being reupholstered and the kitchen end of the hall floors completed... thanks for posting.
Looking great from floor to ceiling!! Literally!! Do you have any additional molding appliqués you could use in the corners? Perhaps something roundish to put on the outside corners where the curves of the inner square are curved in? White on White will be subtle, but definitely there. It will pull out the decorative concept all the way out to the perimeter of the space. Just thinking?? 🤔🤐
I do upholstery for my personal use, and I couldn’t do it without a pneumatic stapler. It takes a lot of strength in the hands to get the hand stapler to get the staple to go in as deep as possible.
Another great video as always yes it will all come together you have a good vision of how it will look finished as always thanks for sharing another raining day here in southern ontario another car show missed as did not want to get the old truck too dirty a light steady rain is worse then a heavy rain would make the truck really dirty too much work for this 68 year old yes now a fair weather gal ! Hope the next one will be okay but cruise nights are Thursday also rained this passed Thursday would love to send the rain out west to help with the forest fires here in Canada! Have a great day !😀😍
You’ve worked magic with your lovely home! It’s just beautiful. Your attention to detail really makes a difference. Now, off subject, but you need to get a weed whacked to tidy up around your garden beds. lol, sorry, but that would really neaten the area up. Anyway, hope you can get a lot more done before it sells. It’ll be sad not to see your finished product. I can’t imagine how hard it must be for you but it’s totally understandable 💕
The coach house is wonderful! Carole, will you sell the furniture along with the chateau or keep it for your new house in the UK? It's nice to see Beth helping in the videos. The hall looks more beautiful than ever! There really is a difference. Love watching you all!
The chair at the stair end of the hall looks great in the darker color. Will you paint the other chair to match it? The ceiling around the hall chandelier really complements the current one. It looks great also. You all have done a wonderful job on the hall.
Regarding the ceiling motifs and Future similar projects, most tent poles are extendable to 3 meters. Could work if you prop up on a suitable table/chair etc.
Figured out why I finally enjoy these videos- Adrian has taken a more powerful role instead of passively following along and I prefer it the new way. Much more interesting with him in charge of how things are moving along. Love how kind he is to his daughters. Love how he treats his wife kindly. But he is the better leader. Enjoying, thanks.
It takes two wheels in front to turn the vehicle (mom & dad) ...the rear wheels (the kids) follow along. It's all about cooperation ...but no one likes to see an indecisive passive man. Women like confident men when it's all said & done.
@@kindlydude Agreed. I don't think he's ever been bossy. Would actually like to see that. Him finally stepping up to lead is the best thing to happen to the chateau. I really hope it does last. Don't think the man has a mean bone in his body. But let's be honest, he built a thriving business that got them this far. He can definately put together a chateau, and then another house in England. Agreed??
The base attached to the wall is modern and does not fit the architectural time period. Maybe you can find another base at a lighting store or antique shop
Everything is coming together in the hallway it looking good Carole and Adrian, love the ceiling and the chandelier looks nice, loving the little seating area next to the stair's love it all as usual take care see you both next time 💕🌼🤗
Love the really quick hoeing of the garden! Wish I could do my garden that fast!! 😂😂 Try a determinate variety of tomato and they won't go all to vine. "Don't be sad it's over, be happy it happened" ❤❤❤
Lol Beth is simply talking about scoring (cross-hatching to create a spot for grip) and putting slip (liquified watery clay) to hold it together and smooth away any obvious seams or cracks. :)
It's coming so beautifuly! You work so well. Excited to see the stairs pretty soon. It's going to be stunning, fresh and absolutely inviting. Congrats for all that amazing work. 🌟
It all looks wonderful. I so admire your work ethic. Adriane, your floor is stunning. I don’t think a brand new floor would even come close to matching your talented restoration. Carole your “projects” make me feel like a lazy slug…how on earth do you keep up your pace and Bethany is a real jewel to jump in and help … someone raised her right, hummm … mom or dad ? .. both, I’d hazard to guess! Carole, you’ve lost weight 😀 looking great… wishing you well from PA, USA.
I understand your wishes to finish things you have started but in all honesty when someone buys your Château, they may have completely different ideas on finishings. Then change all you have worked so hard to create. Take it easy and enjoy your last bit of time there. Wishing you all the best in you new endeavours. 😊
We want to finish it for ourselves. If someone buys it then they can do as they please! But we want to finish what we started. It would be a waste of our hard work not to see it finished 😊
The hallway looks fabulous! I’m wondering what a faceted crystal chandelier (maybe French Empire?) would look like. It certainly wouldn’t look out of place-and wondering if it would throw patterns on the walls when lit.🤔. Love watching you all work together as a family. These are the happy times you will remember together, working side by side. 😊
Beautiful job on the skirting! Carol I upholstered 2 chairs identical in style (but new) to those chairs, used different fabric plain on the seat and back, and patterned on the font and arms , very happy with the result. Just sharing the experience! 🤣🤣
Thinking about it further ...I think the patterned fabric that matches the curtains would look best on both the seat and back ....but the arms of the chair could be the solid blue fabric to match the pillows also in blue. The arms often get stained over time & would show up less on the darker fabric!
I like the chandelier and don't think you need to change it for something more "chateauy"...it is lovely and flowery and not at all pretentious.
I absolutely agree. It balances everything in the hallway, and is a perfectly lovely design. Please don’t change it, Carole and Adrian!!
Love you guys to pieces. ❤💙❤😊💥
I thought how nice it looks too.
It’s so beautiful-I wonder how large it is. If it’s the right size for me, I would buy it off you.
Please don’t change that extraordinary chandelier! It balances everything, and doesn’t detract from the new ceiling work around it. It’s also lovely with the toile de jouy fabric. I admire you carrying on with all the Reno’s now it’s listed for sale - most people would just tidy up and wait for it to sell.
They won't sell until they get their price.
Everything is looking great, even the design on the ceiling in front of the door. And the floor is also looking amazing. 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
From Uruguay, hope you finally don't sell the chateau. Your hard work is so minute, so detailed. You deserve to keep it. ❤

In the last part you can see the cream and white difference, where it was filmed really close. It's nice!

It's absolutely TRANSFORMED!!
Hallway is beautiful!! I remember Terry visiting a while ago and the hallway was full off wood and nothing what it looks like now. Great job all!!
So glad to see Bethany working with Mom AND Dad, your skills will be so varied. Wondering what you will end up enjoying more out of this process.
