• Closing thoughts:
o On wrist - Wears more like a 42mm, very solid feeling as a capable tactical tool watch
Far from luxurious with utilitarian finishes, so refinement is a tradeoff for value proposition
o Model Variants - Also available in a black coated version, check site links for current options, availability, and pricing
o Comparable models - The most natural comparison will always be the original Christopher Ward C60 Lympstone, this WM gets you a solid 70% of that $1300 watch for less than 25% of the cost
o Bottom-line - The WM157 ‘Military Watch’ forgoes the refinement niceties of the Christopher Ward and still leaves you with a solid tool watch capable of hard use for under $300 and even under $200 at the current sale price
A really nice video, thank you for your review.❤
You can wear a lympstone watch in the city, and a welly merck watch in the mountains or at sea. This is a proper use for copycat :)
The case measurements you present differ from the dimensions of the C60 Lympstone advertised on CW's website. Ignoring the height that could differ due to the different movements used, CW advertises the C60 Lympstone has a 42mm width with a 49.2mm lug-to-lug. If the implication is that WM is making parts for CW, then they are making separate parts for their own watches.
All depends on where you measure from, any watch case with crown guards leaves room for interpretation.
That bezel sounds just like the real one so I’m really thinking they did produce this same one for cw just at a higher quality.
You know that christopher ward has come up as a brand when they have brands homaging them
Is one to assume that CW had their watch components (case, bezel, dial, hands) produced by this factory and since they are in possession of the design they are now producing the same watch as they did previously but with a different logo and movement? Or is it the case that this factory has reverse engineered a CW watch independent of any relationship with CW?
How do they claim 300 meters WR with push pull crowns?
I mention it in the video but typically it's seals and gaskets that provide the water resistance and not the actual crown threading, a screw-down-crown's main job is to ensure that the crown is down in a position engaging the seals and not pulled out. My Astron has 200m water resistance with a push/pull crown for example.
You know what? I am a regular viewer of your TH-cam Channel. I have seen all your videos and your content qualities are very good. I learned lots of things from you. Your channel has great quality contents but still it is not delivering its right audiences due to SEO problems. You should focus on your SEO so that You can get a big fanbase, Thanks.
I did my time wearing cheap watches and homages but man I'm so glad I've outgrown that. I hate the idea that I wasted time wearing those when I could be enjoying quality watches. Not saying you need to buy a Rolex, but I'd rather have one nice watch than 8 AliExpress watches.
100% agree. Great jumping off point but once you start to get quality watches in hand it changes you.
To each is own .
I rather have 20 Aliexpress watches than wasting my hard earned money of any watch over $1000
To each is own.
