You have been watching, studying and working with this kind of rigging for a long time and have done a very good job of setting it up at small acale. Found your operators station to be unconventional but well thought out and definitely functional. Am looking forward to seeing it in action after you have worked with it for awhile. Very nice job, I am impressed. Nick, North West Farmer (Oregon)
That is badass!!! Great job! Been wanting to build a gas powered winch for awhile now. I have the motor but I caint find a gearbox or a steel drum for the cable
cool, yeah I have a piece of well pipe and was gonna build my own drum and piece something together with a snowmobile clutch type system. there are a lot of different options where do you live ? the local scrap yard can offer some ideas for a project like this. I used some parts and pieces from the brakes off an f350 and handles from a Schwann bike etc etc haha, it is all cobbled together .
I did mention it was slow... still cool as frig to see it being used, meanwhile I have a proper 2 drum hoist, and a 4cyl perkins I'm scrounging parts to make the next iteration of junky yarder MKI
thanks, she is glad that it worked , I put a few years into slowly gathering rigging for this project and welding up parts on the winch making the carriage, its been a slow process.
@@chrisrohde7696 its because the logs he's dragging are so little. I bet he got wrecked from working as a logger, or he'd just be throwing those little guys on his shoulder and laughing like Paul bunyun. Ya buddy, now we're firewoodin!
Looks somebody is having a great time!!
I am definitely having fun with this.

yes, slow but very heavy duty. that'll be cool to see your two drum hoist pulling turns . any plans on having it working soon ?
@DanielBoonesloggingvideos nah, just a pet project for now
Where you been?!
@davidwyby hiding...
😂
A baby North Bend. I think Phil Grabinski would approve.
I did some Northbending with it and will upload a video soon .worked pretty good 👍🏻
The wife is about to yank his permit. 😁
yeah I got to northbend with it for a couple days and the permit on this sale ran out and had to tube down and hit the skids , hehe
Great fun, and very clever. So, what does the Mrs. have to say about it? She should be thrilled.

when you release the choker your hand looks enormous, like Paul Bunyan.

Haha I see what your saying now. That small diam wood makes me look like a giant of a man
With all do respect. Could have sawn in a sec and thrown it down to the road
yeah, definitely not an efficient means of getting logs from woods to the road, more of an exercise in rigging use.
