I'm always impressed how you and others continue finding "new" content for Oot. This channel always makes me want to play again no matter how burnt out I feel at times.
One problem with that. By the time you reach Ganon's Tower, Morpha's been destroyed. And if not, the game isn't programmed as if Morpha could still be alive because 'you cheater'. Why does Morpha matter? Morpha used its absolute control of water to refract light off the surface of the ankle high water in the mini-boss room to create a mirage of a boundless space with an island in the center and a dead tree in the center of that. It then took control of Link's reflection in that ankle high water already under its total control, separating it from Link as a wielder of darkness might part him from his own shadow, and during a time when Link couldn't see his reflection at that. After all, in that space, it might have looked like Link was walking onto an island, and certainly his eyes saw land and thus he couldn't see his reflection in the water, but remember the island was part of the mirage. Link was in ankle high water the entire time he was in that room; before, during, and after the fight. That actually brings something to mind; wouldn't it be funny if, to someone able to see through Morpha's mirage, the Dark Link fight was Link swinging his sword at his reflection in the water, and any time Dark Link scored a hit on Link, it was actually the mirage messing with him and making hit himself thinking the part of himself he hit was part of Dark Link? Actually, no that's not funny, that's terrifying to imagine. A being having such control over water that they can make anyone standing in the slightest bit of water completely freak out and basically kill themselves trying to fight an enemy that isn't there, all while the misdirection of the water entity leads them to slowly kill themselves one scratch at a time.
I would guess the height test might be an actor placement test of some kind. Like to see if some kind of automatic raise/lower to ground aspect worked.
suggestion. do all the highlights at the end of the stream because I always sleep to the streams so I watch the first half and fall asleep by the second part. call it sleeper highlights or something clever ig
An old demo version for Space World 1997 got leaked, and the demo had a lot of developmental files that were normally inaccessible, so the version in the video has been a recreation of the dev files as faithfully as realistically possible
I got an Android box and a cheap N64 USB controller from Ali so after some 20 years I'm finally playing OoT again! But on my huge TV which is so cool... Funny how the most deja vu thing about it is my thumb being sore from hanging on the joystick the entire time 😅 But I got a question... Which ROM version do I need for randomizing? I'm using Mupen64plus FZ if that matters

The crawlspace bit felt like you clipped out of the game's limits and ended up in some dreamworl or backrooms place, felt like a liminal place.
Dark Link should have had a room and rematch. WTF were they thinking on the castle. Also needed a staircase challenge not just keese.
