They're looking stunning! Safe travels! Cant wait for warmer weather this year. Then as much as I cant wait to get to japan myself I am gonna have to save for a trip across the pond and come see all of this for myself one day too. :D
Float switches are life savers. My filter clogged and overflowed during the night in December draining 1400 gallons out of my pond. If not for that float switch my pond would have emptied and I would have lost my whole koi collection. As for flukes, OMG, I’ve treated 6 times over the last month. Just can’t seem to kill them buggers. I need to scrape again Wednesday and hopefully finally got them all. Treatments just don’t seem to be getting the job done anymore.
Does the advanced harbour its own bacteria for ammonia and nitrites then thats amazing if so as in a nexus we need air in outer chamber but in advanced they dont do they
Please excuse what might seem like a silly question, but how come in Japan trhey don't really treat for parasites, but such a large deal is made about it here in the UK?
@ once we know the method 100% works I might make a video. It’s not easy done on a home pond but when we can move fish around it works. We started last summer and all the older stock have been fluke free since then.

Great, I love the Japan content, can’t wait
What treatment do you use for flukes? I use praziquantel, but am always interested to learn what the pros use! 😁

Yeah I agree on the treatments. We have a good method but need to test it a bit more.
Spotted my 3 in the big pond looking great

The media grows its own mate. Perfect water
What flow rate are you putting through the beads? Thanks
We change it as needed. With the bigger koi we slowed a 20,000 punp down to 50%. When Tosai in 70%
The cats need their own video.🐈⬛😻📹

The salt content is so high over there. Some do treat but not all. I am not a scientist but ours are far more difficult to get rid of.
What treatment do you use to treat the flukes Tim? I assume you had gill and body flukes?
I can’t really say. The method we use isn’t conventional
@ fair enough Tim. I’ve seen the fluke treatments and dose rates in Japan. Eye popping
