Boat traffic is a way of life in Tx. We run from Freeport to South Padre and to Lake Charles La. We done the inside and out for safety stay in the ICW. We run a Mainship 430. Starting the loop next January hope to see yall out there. Keep up the good work on the videos.

It sounds like a fun trip with some adventurous moments. I learned a couple new things, and as always I appreciate the advice. 👍

Nice. Good chat! I’m a chopper pilot too. Looking for a boat and planning the loop in 2 years. Love to see onboard at Great Harbor 37

Sounds like you had a lot of what I encountered making the same trip. Very intense then a lot of boredom. Similar maintenance issues with fuel, raw water cooling pumps, dodging traffic and crab traps, with little time to enjoy the trip.

After completing 6000 miles of the loop and doing this trip, I have to say that this was busier then any of that 6000 miles and requires your attention full time for sure

What would you have done if you lost the engine in the middle of all of that barge traffic?

We had a plan for that, get close as we could to the bank and put out the anchor. But remeber if we had stayed inside we would not have lost the engine. In smooth waters the boat would have been fine it took those rough water to shake up the tank and clogged the fuel filter.
