He has some trouble listening when he's excited. He has learned though.

You know animals don't like loud sqeeling and running and jumping. I feel sorry for those donkeys having to deal with that little boy.

Such a nice farm you've got! I have looked around a little bit. And the donkeys are so cute! I don't have a farm but a garden in Sweden where I grow a lot of vegetables.

Maybe next time there is a new arrival, teach, encourage the children -- Roman -- to be calmer and quieter. Transported animals are already stressed to the max and hyper active children do not HELP matters. No Roman is not instructive -- just sayin -- maybe put the camera down and and work with Roman first

Thank you for voicing exactly what I was thinking. The little boy is very lucky he didn't get a side kick from the Halflinger going through that gate. I know this video is from January but the better option would have been to leave the kids in the house and introduce them one at a time to the new animals. The flip side of the coin is that Roman may have since learned the hard way with a nip from any of the animals. The parents are too lax here...horses and especially donkeys will give you plenty of warning if you know what to look for.

Shame the kid didn't get a little kick from the foal (so it shocks but doesn't hurt!) He has no manners and no proper guidance

I agree. Squealing and jumping children is a dangerous mix with new, frightened animals.

Yes its such a shame my super excited 5-year-old with ADHD didn't get kicked. Who actually says that kind of a thing? Who wishes a child would get injured?

  • @nowayjose3592

Your son is going to get kicked

He’s gotten much better about respect and listening and following the rules about being behind them. Most of this was from their first day here.

@@SugarMapleFarmhouse Take this however you want to: knowing your children as well as you do, please be one step ahead in situations like this. If you know Roman will be loud and energetic, put the camera down and pay attention to his behavior. I know this video was from 10 months ago, you say he has learned...I certainly hope so. Having worked with Halflingers and donkeys and children all at the same farm, very bad things can happen in a split second. Horses/ponies/donkeys will all give you plenty of warning signs to back off...if you don't know what those are please reach out to a resource in your area for a site visit so someone can show you. Strong tail swishes, flicking ears, stomping a hoof, walking away from the annoyance are all signs to name only a few.

Sugar is too fat. So is Leo’s mama! Forgot her name. It’s so easy to overfeed mini’s.

I know. Sugar is not mine. Leo’s mama has lost some weight since she has been here.
